Mohanlal's Marakkar for OTT -Telugu - Malayalam films most affected by Covid 19 second wave

Chennai, April 26 : Telugu industry has put off 4 film releases, Malayalam two , Kannada two and Tamil one due to second wave of Covid 19, says trade reports. Mammooty's One will release on Netflix tomorrow ( Apr 27) which will  be followed by Karthi's Sulthan on Hotstar May 2, Dhanush Karnan on Amazon -May 7th, Operation Jawa (Malayalam) on Zee5 - May 9th, Radhe Most Wanted - Salman Khan on Zee Plex on May 13th and Dhanush's Jagame Thanthiram on Netflix - June 18d. In between Sivakathikeyan Doctor is said to be heading for OTT release as it was to release on April 30th. In Telugu,Anasuya Bharadwaj’s Thank You Brother is the first Telugu film to go for OTT release amid second wave.Pawan Kalyan-starrer Vakeel Saab is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 30.

The Telugu films whose release dates have been postponed are Chiranjeevi - Acharya, Venkatesh Narappa ( Asuran remake).Love Story, Virata Parvam, Tuck Jagadish 4

Kannada film Adivi Shesh s Major  and KGF, Malayalam film Kurup starring Dulquar Salman and Arattu of Mohanlal were  May releases that are postponed.

Kerala trade circles say that Marakkar producer has started taking back advance given to theatres. This is seen as the producer heading for a OTT release if the pandemic situation worsens in May. Latest report says that the producer has given August 12 the release date.
