The show has recorded a TVR of 12.1, placing it ahead of its Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada counterparts In comparison, Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9, hosted by Nagarjuna, currently holds a rating of 11.1. Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12, with Kiccha Sudeep as host, stands at 7.4 on weekdays and 10.9 on weekends after briefly pausing production due to an environment-related shutdown of its studio space in Bidadi. Bigg Boss Tamil, now fronted by Vijay Sethupathi in its 9th season, has a 5.61 rating and is facing renewed calls for a ban from political voices who claim it offends Tamil cultural values. Bigg Boss Hindi Season 19, led by Salman Khan, currently has the lowest rating with 1.8 on weekends after a slight rise from 1.3. The news arrives in a year that has already been unusually bright for Mohanlal. On screen, he has enjoyed back-to-back success in Malayalam with L2: Empuraan and Thudarum. The rereleases of Chotta Mumbai and Ravanaprabhu have also run to packed houses. Earlier this year, he was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema. Asianet has initiated legal action against several social media accounts for leaking content from its flagship reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 before telecast. The broadcaster said there has been a rise in recent weeks of major developments, including eviction details, being posted online ahead of the episode airing. Taking note of complaints from viewers, host Mohanlal had publicly warned against circulating such content. The channel has since issued legal notices to a few accounts. While some platforms have removed the leaked material, Asianet said nearly 25 online pages, including “biggbossmalayalam7” and “famecontents”, continue to share unauthorised content. Asianet said such leaks spoil the viewing experience, reduce the creative value of the show and disrespect the work of the production team. The channel reiterated that it will pursue strict legal measures against individuals and platforms involved in the illegal circulation of show content.

Suriya's Singam look sparks sequel talk / Salman Khan - Mahesh Narayanan to work

 Actor Suriya is currently creating quite a buzz on social media, after his latest appearance in his daughter Diya's graduation day grabbed the attention of fans.

His wife and actor Jyotika shared two pictures featuring Suriya. What caught everyone's attention was that Suriya appears to be seen in two different looks in the pictures. One of the now-deleted photos features him in his 'Singam' look which has sparked craze among fans.

Jyotika deleted the photo very soon. However, the picture is now being widely shared on social media. Fans are curious to know if this was the actor's look for Singam or RJ Balaji's film or just a new look of Suriya.

After Priyadarshan , it is Mahesh Narayanan from Malayalam cinema who is set to direct Salman Khan. As reports say that a rough narration by the Director has impressed the Actor and asked him to come with a full script.  Salman Khan will take up Mahesh project after he finishes the film on the war drama from Lakhia that is based on the clash in the Galwan Valley in 2020 but has no title yet. He portrays the martyred 16 Bihar Regiment commander, Colonel B. Santosh Babu. Writers Suresh Nair, Chintan Gandhi, and Chintan Shah are adapting a section of “India’s Most Fearless 3” into a screenplay. Final production is targeted for November, with an anticipated theatrical release in the first half of 2026.

Mahesh Narayanan is currently directing a Mega Project in Malayalam film that features Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead with Nayanthara, Revathy, and Fahadh Faasil all play important roles in the film. Salman Khan and Chiyaan Vikram threat to Mohanlal / Anirudh is South highest paid composer

Empuran run at North India and Tamil Nadu will not be smooth as the two regions are seeing the release of two biggies- Salman Khan- ARM Sikandar in Hindi and Chiyaan Vikram Veera Dheera Sooran. At first Sikandar was to release on March 30th and thereby giving Empuran a three day run in North but the new date has put te brakes on that. Vikarm film is coming on March27. This date has come after OTT platform has scheduled it. Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 will hit the big screens on March 27, 2025. Initially, it was supposed to be released in January, but plans shifted due to scheduling clashes with OTT platforms. Given the budget, Empyran needs a free run outside Kerala to recover it. In GCC countries, Empuran will be hit as Salman Khan release for Eid has always been a celebration.

The idea to release directly on OTT and forego the theatre collection was mooted as Disney was willing to offer a good price. Thudarum is marketed as a family drama and as the pair Lal and Shobana appearing as middle class strata of people. It looked like the ones that the pair ‘s hit films in late nineties. Insiders say that Director Tharun of Saudi Vellkaakka has woven in a suspense drama in the family entertainer. Lal has given the Producers the confidence to take the theatre route and then go for OTT. Fans are hoping to see the vintage Lal and Shobana.

The remake rights of Baby John was bought from Tamil film Producer Thanu for Rs 10 crores and the Tamil film Their starred Thalapathy Vijay with Samantha in the lead and directed by Atlee of Jawan fame. Baby John is an utter flop. Now Bollywood and Salman Khan fans are terrified after hearing the news that Sikandar is remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar directed by A R Murgadoss.  Murgadoss who is coming back to Bollywood after a long gap and makers have not responded. Tamil film Producer Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures has not confirmed this.

As if an answer to Tamil film critic Blue Sattai Maran, After reigning dominance in the Indian movie market, Unni Mukundan’s latest blockbuster ‘Marco’ made with a budget of just Rs 30 crore, is heading to Korea. The producers of the movie have inked a deal with Korea’s famous Noori Pictures is distributing the film. Maran termed Marco as a cheap Korean film copy.

After Pushpa 2, yet another film is giving good moolah to theatres in North India is Marco. The Hindi dubbed version of Malayalam film Marco has been doing good business and what drove the Day 13 collections is the increase in screens for its Hindi version, which brought in Rs 1.2 Cr (Marco’s highest single-day collection for a dubbed version since its release), and the Telugu version that hit theatres on January 1, fetched Rs 1.15 Cr.

The Hindi version of the film, which is rated A for its non-stop violence and bloodletting , played 1200+ shows, with Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad leading with 224, 93 and 57 shows, respectively. The Hindi-dubbed version had also released in GCC countries on January 1 reports OTT play. On January 3, Tamil version has been released. It is first Malayalam film to do a Rs 1 crore collection in North India.

Unfortunately we live in a "Mainstream Bollywood" bubble, where we cannot look beyond films that we ourselves find entertaining. Instead we should just look for good films made by film-makers who are uncompromising in their art.. low budget or big budget.. star or no star.. just great artistic cinema. Mohanlal Kannappa Poster gets trolled - Santosh Narayanan in ARM- Salmaan film

 Mohanlal poster of Kannappa the Telugu film is next in line for trollers after release. The earlier poster in which Mukesh Rishi and Brahmaji are seen in it. The two artists, otherwise extremely talented, are seen in get-ups that barely suit them. They are playing tribals who are fiercely protective of Dharma. Kannappa – A True Epic Indian Tale', Manchu Vishnu's most ambitious movie, is a December 2024 release. Its Teaser was unveiled in June.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role and is slated for release on April 25, 2025. The film, described as a pan-Indian project, is based on a true story and revolves around themes of bravery and devotion. With an impressive budget reportedly between Rs 100 and Rs 200 crores, the mythological action drama is penned by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G. Nageswara Reddy, and Thota Prasad. Expectations are high for this ambitious venture.

Santosh Narayanan is latest composer from Kollywood to join Bollywood with Salman Khan film Sikandar. Directed by A R Murgadoss. Santhosh Narayanan was born on May 15, 1983 in Thiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a composer and actor, known for Kalki 2898 AD (2024), Irudhi Suttru (2016) and Master (2021). He is married to Meenakshi Iyer .

Atlee next a rehash of Magadheera - Will DSP removal give Game Changer a breather ?

  Director Atlee next Hindi project is rehash of the Telugu film Maghadheera starring Ram Charan and directed by SS Rajamouli. This fantasy film released in 2009 was the South Indian dilm to have longest run in theatres and the dubbed versions in Tamil and Malayalam gave RC the market in these languages. A blockbuster hit , it had Chiranjeevi in a cameo. The writing team of Vijayendra that collaborated in the original is rehashing to suit Hindi audience. Kajol plays the role of a princess in an era dating 450 years ago and the modern day student. The story written by Vijayendra for Krishna was rejected and years later his son Rajamouli changed the screenplay and added a Rajamatha to the story of a bodyguard's show of loyalty and courage.

Atlee who has successfully rehashed many popular Tamil films and delivered hits is now camping in Chennai's Hyatt hotel with writers and re- writing the film. Sun Pictures, Atlee and Salman Khan are co- producers. Kamal Haasan is tipped to be part of the cast.

Game Changer team is waiting to see if Ajit's Good Bad Ugly will shift the release date as it has brought in G V Prakash as BGM scorer and DSP has been moved out. However we learn that GVP was brought in to stick to release date.

Adhik always wanted Yuvan for GBA . But Yuvan like  DSP  gives delayed bgm. Se he requested for GV Prakash  and it it was producers who insisted Devi Sri Prasad thinking it will help them in Telugu states.

DSP was not  giving songs  for Adhik  and under  a pressure DSP gave songs for GBA .

Good Bad & Ugly Pongal deadline

GBA had this pongal releases deadline and Adhik started getting very nervous. Eventually DSP told makers he can't give BGM for Pongal deadline.

So choice was with Producers whether to delay production to summer release with DSP music or go with another music directors.

GV Prakash was requested to work on same luckily GV Prakash Kumar has got enough time  and he was bought in immediately.

GV Prakash is already working with Mythrifor their  Robinhood movie. So everything worked out.

DSP and Pushpa 2 song fiasco explained

DSP  even  in November did not give final duet song . He gave one finally in November 15th . They need to shoot that song on Allu Arjun and Rashmika.  It was done recently on Nov 19 to Nov 22 with little of patch work  and completes the entire shooting on Nov 25.

DSP always insist on complete raw edit of talkie with vfx to do bgm something which many Directors cannot oblige.  Director Sukumar keeps improvising till last date and DSP know that but from this year he stuck to his new rule, he started this year. Music Directors  like Anirudh and MM Keeravani do not insist but  Manisharma , Ilayaraja and ARR used to insist on locked edit back in 90s and 2000s . 

DSP  was asked to work on episode wise  which he kept declining. Then producers by then just got impatienent  and requested SS Thaman, Ajaneesh and Sam CS to work on those episodes individually.

DSP was supposed to give NOCs to producer to reprise his bgm works and songs instrumentals of Pushpa in BGM for pushpa 2 second half. That got delayed  but finally he gives it.

Prithviraj replaces Ayushmann in Meghna Gulzar film - Sivaji grandson in BB Tamil 8

 

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has  been cast in Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film, replacing Ayushmann Khurrana, who quit the project due to date conflicts. The film, tentatively titled Daayra, is  to feature Prithviraj as a cop, with the storyline inspired by a rea incident.Sidharth Malhotra opted out  Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, known for hard-hitting films like Talvar and Raazi, iher next project is Inspired from the 2019 Hyderabad encounter case.

The four men behind the the young veterinarian’s horrific rape and murder in 2019  were shot dead by Hyderabad police. The encounter was questioned in Supreme Court and 10 cops were ordered to face action for killing of the four men.

ARM- Rashmika - Salman in Hyderabad' Taj Falaknamma for a song featuring 200 dancers. Choreographed by Pritam. Sikandar schedule after this is in Mumbai and off to Europe. From Tamil, we have Sathyaraj and Kajol Aggarwal in the cast. This location is a must for  salman as it is his lucky spot.

Sivaji grandson makes entry in BiggBossTamil 8 as wild card entry. 6 contestants were let in and among them was Shiva Kumar. He is son of Sivaji's eldest son Ramkumar and was known as Sivaji Dev. Now he has taken a new name. His wife is actress Suja who was previous BB Tamil contestant.

Extramarital affair inside BB Tamil house - low TRP - court case - Host under threat

 

Trouble in BiggBoss House in Chennai- Bengaluru and Mumbai. In Chennai, the TRP is just 6 points and that is too lower than that of a weak daily soap in Star Vijay.  Outside a contestant’s wife is spitting venom on BB for encouraging extra martial affair. In Mumbai, Host Salman Khan is under threat from Bishnoi gang and so will he make it for the shoot ? In Bengaluru, a legal notice demands stopping of show as it compromises privacy of women contestants. Host Sudeep has announced his quitting the show after the current one.

Outside BiggBoss Tamil 8 house, there is wife of Arnav a contestant saying that her hubby is with Anishitha another TV actress in the house to strengthen their illicit relationship that happened outside the house. Both the actors acted together in a serial ( Chellamma) and wife has put out voice call tapes that show the actors were in a relationship. Inside the House they are avoiding each other and more so by Arnav. In BB awards task, Arnav nominated Anishitha for being a Yes person in the house and this led to a big face off. Is it Real ?. Anshitha has acted in Malayalam serials like Koodevide in Asianet. Arnav wife Divya also acted in serial Chellamma and she claims that her pregnancy was aborted by her hubby.

Meanwhile Arun Prasad another contestant is said to be in love with last year BB winner Archana. The winner is said to have kept the affair a secret but housemates seem to be aware of it. As per voting figures, Arnav and Darsha are at last places. The fights are not picking up like last year. Last year it started gaining momentum from Day one.

In Kannada the comments say that BB is boiled down to fights and it is not what they want. As we are not  Kannada BB watchers, we cannot understand what the BB shows were like in previous years and were they full of message giving speeches and goody goody babes and guys in it ? Now the lawyer in his notice to BB Kannada says  that women contestants kept in a prison like set as part of a task Heaven and Hell suffered privacy violation and human rights violation. Based on the case, police has asked for unedited footage. Lawyer wants total stoppage. The application was filed under the Code of Business Procedure Order 39 rules 1 and 2 with section 151. ..
