Sivakarthikeyan’s next film, Parasakthi, has been announced for a Pongal/Sankranthi 2026 release, with Sreeleela playing the lead actress, and the actress will also act in Sivakarthikeyan’s next project with Cibi Chakravarthy. 

The combination of SK and Cibi has already produced a sensational blockbuster, Don, which was released in the summer of 2022. The film was a proper commercial entertainer with an emotional climax.

The shoot of Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela’s film with Cibi Chakravarthy is expected to start at the end of this month or early December. This is a very big break for Leela, as she is in such a situation that her movies need to do well in all languages: Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.

Parasakthi is a debut film for Sree Leela in Kollywood, and even before its release, she got a 2nd chance. The movie will be produced by Passion Studios, and its music will be composed by Sai Abhayankkar.

S S Rajamouli - Mahesh Babu shoot in Borra caves and Kenya Park - Mohanlal Aashirvad Cinemas on revival path

 Rajamouli and his team have finalised Borra Caves in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh, as one of the primary shooting locations.The Borra Caves, a popular tourist destination, will host a key sequence in the film. Sources close to the production confirmed that nearly two weeks of shooting is planned at this historical site. 

Rajamouli himself recently visited the caves with his team to assess the location. While the local shoot is generating excitement, a significant portion of the film will also be shot in Kenya, Amboseli National Park. highlighting the movie’s global canvas.

Dr Sharon Thomas marketing head of Aashirvad Cinemas of Antony Perumbavoor told Galatta Plus that around Rs 150 crores was the production budget of Barroz. For the first five days, the film has just collected 14.5 Cr gross worldwide and the closing will be less than 30 Cr Gross, which indicates that the final share will be less than 15 Cr. It means the movie collected just 10% of the budget. Dr.Sharon said that Mohanlal as the Director along with Antony did not release 2D print and went in for only 3D prints. This according to trade limited the number of screens and was one reason for poor collections apart from the bad screenplay. Usually such films are shot in 2D and then converted to 3D to save costs.

 Whether it is Good News or not, Ram Charan Game Changer Sankranthi release date will see opposition from Ajith- Adhik Ravichandran film Good Bad and Ugly. This challenge is limited to Tamil Nadu for Shankar. After Indian 2 debacle, Shankar name has been badly tarnished and with Game Changer, he has to get it back. Adhik Ravichandran has a success streak but not as big as Shankar. In Tamil Nadu, Ajith has a bigger name than Ram Charan and is King of opening and so if Good Bad Ugly gets the audience in and it has the stuff that AK fans are looking for, Shankar will suffer a beating and that too in his home State and at hands of a relative junior Director. This in turn will affect his Indian 3 but as it has Kamal Haasan in it, it could be dented. 

From what we hear, Ajith film is not likely to back out from Pongal race. Ironically there is another reason and that is the politics between Ajith film Producer Mythiri and Game Changer's Dil Raju. Both have a tussle over the Nizam area.

The Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag director has temporarily stopped working on this two-part epic as he struggles to secure the budget of 600 crores required to mount this film. Temporarily, because Mehra still intends to make this film, having spent years researching and developing the screenplay to tell the legendary tale of Karna with historical accuracy and grandeur. 

Buzz in the trade circle also indicates that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment is also reevaluating their plans to produce the film. The production cost has spiraled out of control, making it financially unfeasible for them. The producers have urged Mehra to significantly reduce the budget or they won’t be able to make it. Sources say Mehra has also started looking for new producers, but another hurdle he is facing lies in the casting of Suriya as Karna. The Tamil superstar has just delivered a massive flop with Kanguva, raising concerns among potential investors. The producers may now hesitate to back a project of this scale with Suriya in lead, especially what is a North India favorable mythology—the Mahabharata happened in Kurukshetra, which is in Delhi.

Only three companies are in talks with the Telugu films mentioned. All the companies are willing to do take it on a commission basis and not outright. Secondly no OTT company has closed any deal with these film producers. We are told that Zee5, Karan Johar and AAA Thandani are the three buyers in the field. Thadani has taken Pushpa 2 on a commission basis for North India and the film is expected to do Rs 200 crores biz after taking into account the first part collection. Thadani and Karan have taken Devara and Karan takes Presenter avatar of the film, it means that he is in charge of theatrical release and Thadani has Digital rights. There is no upfront money or outright sale. Game Changer has Zee Group as co- producer and that takes care of TV and OTT streaming rights. Thadani is in talks with Dil Raju to get the distribution rights for North India and that again on a commission rights. Mumbai distributor says that the words used by some media houses like valued at are only for a hype to keep the fans adrenalin pumping. He informs that Devara having Karan Johar as presenter is big asset due to his trade acumen and Dil Raju might plump for Karan. As you are aware Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli were in Dubai, they have come back due to floods.

Surprising part is that Vijay Sethupathi and Arun Vijay are on the same page as far as theatres are concerned and so they have pushed to 11 AM show for Pongal dates, Teja of HanuMan is a new entity for Tamil viewers and so this too is slotted for 11 AM. Interestingly no Tamil films have got theatres for Sankaranti in Telugu speaking States. Chiranjeevi is a subtle way hinted that Dil Raju of the producers trade body had allotted less theatres to Hanu Man. Raju clarified that it was Venkatesh and Nagarjuna films that got lesser theatres and not Hanu man and said that no Tamil dubbed films are coming for Pongal. Sun TV Network Gemini bought the Guntur Kaaram rights at last minute. NetFlix bought the OTT. Coming to Ayalaan, some whispers coming in after censoring is that the film is an adaptation of Chinese film CJ7 . Rajinikanth - Kamal film updates Although the next schedule of shooting for the film is planned to begin in May, director Shankar will first move on to the sets of his upcoming film 'Game Changer' with Ram Charan to shoot the climax portions of that film. However, the iconic actor was recently spotted with a clean shaven look, indicating that he has completed filming his parts. At a recent public event, Director Nelson Dilipkumar confirmed that Rajinikanth has finished shooting for "Jailer". Despite disappointment from fans who were hoping for updates during Tamil New Year, Nelson promised that news about the film's progress will be shared soon. ----- Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay to opt for Telugu Director ? After tasting success with their recent releases during the Sankranti Season, Tollywood directors Bobby and Gopichand Malineni are reportedly in talks with Tamil film industry superstars Rajinikanth and Vijay. Bobby's Waltair Veerayya and Gopichand Malineni's Veera Simha Reddy were both well-received, with the former being a super hit and the latter a hit. It is said that the initial script meetings have been completed, and the directors are now busy finalizing their scripts and impressing the heroes with their narrations. Bobby is known for his mass entertainers that blend action and comedy, making him a good fit for Rajinikanth's fans and the Tamil audience in general. Waltair Veerayya showcased Chiranjeevi in an entertaining way, and Bobby could do the same with Rajinikanth. Gopichand Malineni's style also involves making mass action entertainers, which could be a good match for Vijay. Sarkaru Vaari Paata (Telugu) : Mahesh Babu in a weak scripted film

 

Mahesh Babu has to bank on his star image and fan following to see Sarkaru Vaari Paata sail through at the box office. The story is about a USA based guy who comes to India to recover the loan that he gave to a MP daughter back home. Now we are shown that the hero as a kid was turned an orphan as his parents committed suicide as they could not pay back a bank loan. All he inherited was a one rupee coin.  Director Parusuram saves us the ordeal of a song where the hero becomes a millionaire in USA. You have to guess it. Next is that this banker from USA is no Rockefeller or J P Morgan but the way he bosses around in an MP house to Government bank office makes you wonder whether why everybody is terrified and silent.

Now Keerthy Suresh does her best in songs and that about it as in the second half she is missing. Any idea why a MP daughter has to borrow  money from a US banker ? Maybe the MP does not have accounts that deal in forex . Thaman for two songs can be excused for the loud drum beating given to us as BGM.

One has to see how much PRINCE tag of  Mahesh Babu charm works to save the producer and distributors and himself as he declared himself as more costly than any Bollywood hero.
