Mohanlal and ivory Tusks ; Political Thriller / Karthi in Chiranjeevi film

The Kerala High Court ruling on Mohanlal and ivory tusks brings out a story that looks like a script of a Shaji Kailas – Renji Panicker political thriller film. Here the heroes are two retired Forest Officers and Mohanlal the Actor and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Actor house has two sets of ivory tusks and few other ivory items ., Income Tax raids bring it out and Actor has no paper to show how he got it. It goes to Forest Department and by the rule book they book him for illegal possession of ivory tusks. Violations of the act can result in severe penalties, including hefty fines and up to seven years in prison.  Lalettan says that he did poach any tusker and bought it from a guy for Rs 65,000 and that the guy took it off from a tusker that died a natural death. Actor forgot to take a letter from the seller.

As a jail sentence with fine was sure and ivory trade banned, State Forest Department moved an amendment to Forest Act and legalized the possession of dead tusker’s ivory tusks. It gives an ownership certificate to Actor and says Case closed. All this started in 2011 at a Perumbavoor Court. Two retired Forest Officers challenge this ownership certificate. How can you give a certificate to a person who is facing a court case and that too backdate the order ? Should not the order be published in the State Gazette to invite public opinion as mandated by Law ?.

• Court said Can’t accept the state admitting that notifications were not published in the official gazette and justifying adequate publicity was given to the notifications and no prejudice anyone, and non-publication was only a technical irregularity with no legal consequence.

Next step is that Mohanlal should apply for a ownership and State Government should give it only after notifying it through Gazette. This will bring in objections from public. The criminal proceedings against Lal in Magistrate court will need to be closed for Government to issue a certificate.

Interestingly, the court never even commented on the other claims put forward by the petitioners, including the claims of collusion, or the exercise of the power. Judges observed that finding anything on those questions would be prejudicial against the actor during the criminal proceedings, which are yet to be completed against him in the magistrate court.

It is already confirmed that Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Bobby (known for Waltair Veerayya) are collaborating again for a new film. Rumours indicate that Karthi may play an important role in this project, although neither the actor nor the team has issued an official statement yet.

The sequel stars Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganathan as the leading ladies, while SJ Suryah is essaying a key role. Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena are producing Sardar 2 under the banner of Prince Pictures and IVY Entertainment. Sam C.S. is the music composer.

Actor-director Rishab Shetty has issued an apology over a controversial poster related to “Kantara Chapter 1.” The poster, shared by a fan handle, urged audiences not to enter theaters after smoking or eating non-vegetarian food, claiming the film carried devotional elements and theaters screening it should be treated like temples. The poster quickly sparked criticism and was taken down.  Ub KINGDOM main villains are Jaffna Tamils. It was in 90s . There is no reference to LTTE or Sinhalese army or civil war .

As I mentioned in my inside sources. It is purely a story of a telugu exploited by Jaffna Cartel consisting of Tamilains and Srilankan Sinhalese army and Corrupt Indian agents as well. Infact I am really confused on why Indian agency wants This cartel destroyed.

In Jailer a telugu hero was portrayed for comedy purpose and in Theeran north Indians are portrayed as criminals .

Overall

Definetly not a bad movie!!!! First half is very good . Second half drama falters big time both in writing and visually

Basic 101 of drama writing is mission of hero cannot meander or fail after investing so much on screen.

Movie is backed by excellent performances of Vijay Devarakonda and Satyadev.

Anirudh though did good job is not required for this genre both in terms of fee and his style except Ragile song every thing is adequate.

Good to Decent but not grand blockbuster that everyone expected.

Latest buzz in Kollywood circles, Karthi is set to join forces with Malayalam director Tharun Moorthy. For the unversed, Tharun Moorthy is the filmmaker behind Thudarum, the all-time highest-grossing film in Kerala, headlined by Mohanlal.

Tharun’s previous films, Saudi Vellakka and Operation Java, were also critically acclaimed. If this collaboration materializes, movie buffs are surely in for a treat. The project is expected to be bankrolled by Lark Studios, the production house behind Garudan and Maaman.

Coolie third highest OTT deal of Tamil filmdom / Murmur silent hit

While there’s no official confirmation about the same, reports suggest that the makers of Coolie have finalized a lucrative OTT deal worth 120 crores with Amazon Prime Video. This is a huge sum and the biggest ever deal for a Rajinikanth film. His previous best was Jailer, which was bought by Prime Video at a price of 100 crores. With a rumored price of 120 crores, Coolie has locked the third-biggest OTT deal in the history of Kollywood. With a 24.75% higher price, Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life stays at the top. Reportedly, Netflix acquired streaming rights of Thug Life for 149.70 crores. Thalapathy Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time is in the second position with a price of 125 crores (Netflix). The Rajinikanth starrer is in a tie with Vijay’s Leo, which was also bought at 120 crores by Netflix. In Vikram and Leo, we saw how Loki presented Kamal Haasan and Thalapathy Vijay in the grandest way possible. Now, with another megastar of the Tamil film industry under his wings, Loki aims for a big-screen monster.

Murmur Tamil film is heading for most profitable film in Kollywood. Murmur has been mounted at a limited budget of 2.5 crores. With its current India net collection of 4.76 crores, the film’s ROI (Return On Investment) comes to 2.26 crores. This also results in the ROI percentage coming to 90%. The movie stars Richie Kapoor, Devaraj Arumugam and Yuvikha Rajendran in the lead roles. The film continues to maintain an impressive pace at the box office owing to a stellar positive word of mouth. The film was released originally at only 100 screens. However, because of its strong impact on the minds of the audience, Murmur has been released now on 220 screens. As Coolie nears for a Diwali release, Lokesh has added Naga Chaitanya to Kaithi 2 and it seems that Kamal Haasan will be part of this universe as Suriya was in Vikram as Rolex. Similarly Suriya is this time the main player as the film talks about Rolex. Harish Peradi whose character was finished off is said to be making his presence in the sequel too. Before this trending started the figures on OTT , As per Tudum by Netflix, Pushpa 2: The Reloaded Version has ranked second among the Global Top 10 non-English movies in its first week of online streaming. TVK forgot Vinayakar ! Filmfare snubs Nayanthara - NTR Jr v/s Karthi

Jyothika tipped for National Award - Ashika opposite Karthi

The news coming from Capital Dilli is that Jyothika is a strong contender for Best Actress Award for her performance in Kathal The Core. The 70th National Film Awards 2022 winners will be announced in August midweek. Sudhir Mishra is the National jury Chairperson. Director Priyanandan and Azhagappan ( cameraman ) had headed two juries to shortlist the applications numbering 160 and send 30 films for jury to decide. The films certified in 2022 are in the contest. Jyothika played Omana in the film and Mammootty her husband. The loan was not as advance to buy ARS but as what is called hand loan. We learn that Ambika had inutroduced Arjun to Prasad. Prasad said that he has confidence that FEFSI and Tamil Film Producers Council will do the needful and get justice for him.Now when the re-payment issue came up, Ambika has reportedly said that she has nothing to do with the finances of her brother. It is ironical that Radha who spent Rs 6 crore for her daughter wedding in Thiruvanthapuram and as per media reports gave 500 Kg gold and Rolls Royce to bridegroom, has not bothered to clear the debt of a measly Rs 6 lakh of her brother. Talking to FEFSI office bearers, they say that Prasad has always settled disputes of Tamil film industry in their favour during his tenure as South India Film Chamber President and secretary. Due to this, the union has asked all members to not report for any shootings in ARS studio. It has come into effect for past one month. Mohan Natarajan who signed Illena and gave Rs 40 lakhs as advance had moved the Chamber as she was not honoring her dates. Prasad issued an ultimatum that no South Producer should sign till Illena returns the money. She lost atleast two Tamil films and a Telugu film. Krithi Shetty has signed a biggie opposite Pradeep Ranganathan as hero and Vignesh Shivan as Director. The film is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio of Leo fame. Thalapathy son fumbling with Tamil script - Pak actress in Lalettan film- Kathal gets national accolades

 

  Sanjay Jason, son of Thalapathy Vijay, is taking the help of a Tamil writer to translate the script of his upcoming film as he has written in English. He never studied Tamil. This is the story doing the rounds  and many are asking how Vijay who swears about his Tamil lineage never bothered to make his son learn Tamil. Some say that Jason has a working knowledge but not sufficient to write a screenplay. But why bother ? Lyca boss surely knows to read English and Jason from what we hear is not looking for actors who ask for bounded scripts.

Empuran 2 directed by Prithviraj with Mohanlal in the lead has got Mahira Khan the Pakistani actress who acted in SRK film Raaees. T all began in September  2003, Mahira put out a video saying she is highly influenced by Malayalam films and it was Anupama Chopra who introduced her to this language. She specifically mentioned Mohanlal and Prithviraj and the film Jana Gana Mana. After that Prithviraj and Mahira met. Now Mahira is on board. The film’s multi layered dealing of homosexuality and acting of Jyotika who matches Mammooty scene by scene has stunned the audience. The praise for an actor like Mammootty to take up such a subject and release it in theatres was a bold step. In the theatres in Kerala was running Kannur Squad an action film of Mammootty and is now streaming on OTT. Opening day the film collected Rs 1 crore. Though intended for OTT only, now it will recover the cost from theatres alone. Critics all over India have lauded Director Jeo of the Great Indian Kitchen fame. Similarly Samantha after watching the film wrote that she is unable to come out of the film.

Ameer v/s Gananavel Raja over Paruthiveeran production issues got more interesting. M Sasikumar actor – producer has said that he loaned  the money to Ameer to get the film completed but the he was not paid back and Gananavel released it without settling his money. Ameer claimed that Gananvel Raja left the project halfway through and Ameer had to raise funds to complete it and at release time, Gananvel turned up and took over the release and left Ameer high and dry. Raja has been saying that Sudha Kongara did not like Ameer Raam but Sudha posted a tweet saying that her actors in Irudhi Suthru were told to watch Paruthiveeran to study about acting. Suriya and Karthi have not reacted but Karthi at thee Japan function said that Suriya dipped into his savings to release Ameer. Ameer was not invited to Karthi 25 function despite the director film was the actor’s launch pad.

Eeramana Rojave 2 heroine debuts - Jude next on M V Kairali - Leo OTT disappoints

 

Jude Athany Joseph whose 1981 film recaptured the Kerala floods and caught imagination of the movie viewers is now embarking on a project that deals with the mysterious disappearance      of ship M V Kairali on July 1979.

Jude reacreated the flood hit village by leasing out five acres of land and using it to enclose and fill it with gallons of water to recreate the floods. Similarly the ship that set sail with cargo from Goa to Russia after three days went missing. The entire crew went missing and not even the wreckage has been found. Theories say that it was hijacked and that it had a faulty radar while another theory that the ship was over loaded and capsized or tore into two due to heavy winds. There is also a mystery why Indian Navy started search only on July 16^th when it was known that the ship was missing from July3rd.

According to information, Karthi 27 with director Prem Kumar will see the debut of Swathi Konde who is main lead of Star Vijay serial Eeramana Rojave 2. She has acted in Kannada films.

Leo OTT version has disappointed fans as he said that the flashback scenes were not true and the OTT version will reveal the truth. Apart from this he said that extended version with uncut scenes will feature but nothing of that sort happened. It seems NetFlix was not ready to add any uncensored scenes and invite Union Ministry wrath.

When Gautham Vasudev Menon tweeted at 3 AM about another roadblock to Dhruv Natchachithram, many wondered what. Earlier in the day All in one Pictures moved the court saying that it needed back the Rs 2.40 crores that it advanced for a STR film by Menon. Menon asked time till Wednesday to pay it back. Soon after this STR himself has demanded remaining payment for VTK which Menon did on first copy for Vels. Menon’s Rs 22 crores is invested in this film. Money from Digital rights has not come so far says sources. Even if the film comes out, Menon will not get anything and apart from this he has to find  money to do the third film for Vels as he had already taken Rs 75 crores for a three film deal.

 Why this concession to Rajinikanth grandson ? Dhanush son Yathra was fined for riding a superbike in the streets next to his and his grandpa – Mother house in Poes Garden. A TV crew passing by shot this learning lessons given by a bouncer sitting on the pillion. It’s almost two months time left for them to witness the heroics of the original Indian superhero Hanu-Man created and crafted by Prasanth Varma with Teja Sajja playing the leadman. Besides making original movies with novel concepts, Prasanth Varma is showing his distinctiveness in promotions as well. In fact, he and team Hanu-Man became extra cautious after the thunderous response to the teaser and Hanuman Chalisa song.

S J Suryah is making his Malayalam debut in Suresh Gopi film titled SG 251. Directed by Rahul Ramachandran, SG plays a retired watch mechanic and what happens to him on a fateful day is the plot. Suryah had come in praise for his performance in Jigarthanda X. Rajini who saw the film praised Suryah. SG Garudan collected Rs 12 crores in 10 days.

 Lokesh Kanagaraj after Vikram and Leo has become a celebrity. Now he makes a 10 minute cameo for friend Gukul’ film Singapore Saloon which has R J Balai in the lead with Meenakshi Chaudury who is heroine of Vijay 68. Lokesh and Gokul had worked for Dream Warrior Pictures. Gokul directed Kashmoora and Junga for them and Lokesh did his debut film Maanagaraam. For R J Balaji this the third film with Vels International. He did LKG and Mookuthi Amman for them. Sathyaraj and Lal play pivotal roles. Lokesh appears as himself and a frequent visitor to the saloon.

Thalapathy wishes Seeman - Rajini v/s Dhanush - Japan overseas no premieres

 

Though Lal Salaam is releasing for Pongal, there was a buzz that it would be postponed. So far there is no official announcement from producer of Lal Salaam. The producers of Captain Miller with Dhanush in the lead, has now announced that they are coming for Pongal.. If both films come for Pongal, then it will be Dhanush v/s ex wife Aishwarya and her father Rajinikanth. Aishwarya directs the film Lal Salaam and Rajinikanth does cameo. Sivakarthikeyan Ayalan is also coming. It is said that Red Giant who is releasing Lal Salaam was not keen to clash with Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan.

Karthi Japan releasing on Friday in Tamil Nadu is not having premieres in overseas . Today the announcement came that shows scheduled for premiers have been cancelled and money will be refunded. On inquiry, it was said that recent films which had overseas shows abroad and one day ahead of the shows in India got negative reviews and affected the domestic market. So now shows in domestic and abroad will be on same day. Like fo Leo, five shows for weekend have been allowed for Japan. But this time the extra shows can be shown past the weekend and till November 15^th. This permission has been granted to Jigarthanda and Raid too.

Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah who are in Kochi for Jigarthanda x promotion called on Mammootty who is shooting for Turbo. The film’s Kerala distribution is with Dulquer Salmaan and it has Kerala actor Shine Tom and Nimisha Sajayan in it.

Thalapathy Vijay who is in Thailand for Venkat Prabhu today called up Seeman of Naam Tamilar Katchi and conveyed his greetings as it the birthday of Seeman. In the backdrop of Vijay entering politics, this move signals new alliances as Seeman has so far gone alone in all polls.

 

Priyanka Mohan who acts in Captain Miller and Pawan Kalyan OG was expecting both films to release in last week of December this year but both have moved to next year. Pawan Kalyan is busy with election work. She has a film with Nani and Tamil film with Jeyam Ravi.
