 Vijay Devarakonda Kingdom is ready for a Pan India release and that includes Hindi. The second song promo is getting trolled for Anirudh’s singing. Apart from this the film’s Producer Nag Vamsi feels that he has to fight so much of negativity that is spread about the film. Releasing on July 31 the film is about a man rebellion in an island with Bhagyasree Borse for company. Jersey fame Gowtam is directing the film.

Last week, there were reports that Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, which is coming to screens on July 31, will skip theatrical release for its Hindi version due to the OTT theatrical window and other issues. However the film’s producer revealed in a recent interview that the Hindi version is getting theatrical release. “Kingdom is releasing in Hindi. We didn't add it to the poster just because we've a title issue. It'll be released on the same day with a different title like Samraj or something,” said Naga Vamsi. 

Aishwarya Lekshmi ‘s popularity in Tamil along with Joju George and Urvasi , both known to Tamil viewers, Aasha is going to be a film to be released in  5 languages. Apart from Aishwarya has announced that she is soon to be reaming up with Gautham Ramachandran again after Gargi. Aishwarya was the co= producer of Gargi and it won accolades for Sai Pallavi who played the main lead.

The title-look poster of "Aasha" was also unveiled during the ceremony, sparking interest among film enthusiasts.

The trailer of the film 'Mareesan', starring popular Tamil actors Vadivelu and Bhagat Faasil, has been released. The trailer has been viewed by more than one million viewers within a short period of its release, setting a record.

 In an announcement that could get all the Prabhu Dheva-Vadivelu combo fans excited, The untitled project is written and directed by Sam Rodrigues, who previously helmed Prabhu Dheva's Musasi. The film, produced by Kannan Ravi, has music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Vignesh Vasu, editor Anthony, and stunt choreographer Peter Hein in the technical team.

The two actors have previously collaborated in Kaadhalan (1994), Love Birds (1995), Mr Romeo (1996), Kaathala Kaathala (1998), Manadhai Thirudivittai (2001), and Engal Anna (2004). Vadivelu has also featured in Prabhu Dheva's directorials Pokkiri (2007) and Villu (2009).

 The trailer for the Rima Kallingal-starrer Theatre: The Myth of Reality, written and directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sajin Baabu (biryani), was officially launched at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 – Marché du Film. The event took place in the presence of veteran Bollywood filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who launched the trailer, and Indo-German Film Week Festival director Stephan Ottenbruch, who attended as chief guest. The launch saw the attendance of Malayalam filmmaker Dr Biju Damodaran, actors Prakash Bare and Chhaya Kadam, and several film professionals from India, Germany, China, and France.

Theatre centres on two women who believe their suffering stems from a curse. Set on Illikkal Island in Kerala, the film explores how myth and reality intersect within a secluded community. Rima and Sarasa Balussery play the lead roles, supported by an ensemble cast. Rima received the Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Actress for her performance. Speaking at the event, Sajin said, “It’s honestly a bit surreal to be here at the Cannes Film Festival. Just being part of this space where world cinema is celebrated with such love is an honour in itself.”

The Santhanam starrer Tamil horror-comedy Devil’s Double Next Level aka DD is slowly inching towards 20 crores albeit in a snail’s pace. The movie is also yet to recover its entire budget. Here is taking a look at the box office performance of the film on its 10th day. On its 10th day, the Santhanam starrer earned 65 lakhs. This was a drop of around 32% since the movie amassed 97 lakhs on its previous day. The total India net collection of the film now comes to 16.25 crore. Including the taxes, the gross collection of the film stands at 19.17 crore. DD Next Level is mounted at a budget of 20 crores. With its current India net collection of 16.25 crore, the film has managed to cover 81% of its budget. It will be interesting to see whether the film will cover its entire budget in the coming days.

Maaman is mounted on a budget of 10 crore at the box office and against the collection of 18.55 crore in 8 days, it has churned out a profit of 85.5% at the box office. The action film stands as the sixth most profitable Tamil film of 2025.

The Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil romantic-crime flick, Ace has been witnessing dismal performance at the box office. While it has managed to cross 4 crores within its 3 days, this is hardly an impressive score, given Sethupathi’s star power. Here is taking a look at the box office performance of the film on its 3rd day. On its third day, the movie saw a dip of around 12% and earned 1.42 crore. The total India net collection of Ace now stands at 4.04 crore. The film is now inching towards 5 crore but needs a more positive word of mouth to see a boost in the collection.

Chiyaan Vikram Veera Dheera Soora NO 1 in Amazon/ Kamal Haasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi in news

 Chiyaan Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran 2 is at No 1 position in Amazon Prime. This should make the producers go in for the first part as originally envisaged. The film is highest grosser in Chiyaan’s career post Covid. It got good review. With Suriya’s TRetro arriving the film is no more in theatres.

With 66.39 crore gross in the kitty, Veera Dheera Sooran ended its run as Chiyaan Vikram’s fourth highest-grossing film in the post-COVID era. It just missed the chance to surpass Thangalaan’s 71.45 crore gross.

At the launch of 25 books which feature compiled plays and short stories, of actor and playwright ‘Crazy’ Mohan, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan spoke about the legendary writer. The icon spoke about the brotherhood he shared with the late Crazy Mohan. The two worked on several superhit films together some of it include Apporva Sagodhargal and Avvai Shanmugi.

At the event, Kamal Haasan said he was happy that they found each other. “Ours is a story of two brothers born in each other’s homes. We used to speak every day. If someone was to listen to our conversation, they would think we ought to have been in an asylum. He did not mind my atheism...he accepted it,” he said.

He also remembered the conversation with him in the latter's last days, he said "when crazy mohan was unwell in his final days, he would slur while talking, so when I asked him if he was drunk, he denied it...I told him you can hide it from anyone but not from me...we are of the same kind.

The First Look Poster of the film "Maine Pyar Kiya," written and directed by newcomer Faizal and produced under the banner of Spire Productions by Sanju Unnithan, has been unveiled. The main stars of the film include Hridu Haroon, Preethi Mukundan, Askar Ali, Midhun, Arjo, Jagadeesh, Mustafa and Jero. This is the second production of Spire Productions after the super success of "Mandakini" released last year.

Following the success of the hit film "Mura," Hridu Haroon plays the lead role in "Maine Pyar Kiya." ctor Suri's movie "Maaman" is releasing on May 16th!!

Produced by K Kumar under Lark Studios, Maman, starring actor Soori in the lead role, and directed by Prashanth Pandiarajan of Animal Series fame, will be released in theaters worldwide on May 16th.

The film stars Soori in the lead role and stars leading actress Aishwarya Lakshmi in the lead role. Actor Rajkiran plays a pivotal role. Along with them, Lapper Bandhu fame Swashika, Geetha Kailasam, Viji Chandrasekhar, Nikhila Shankar, Bala Saravanan, Baba Bhaskar and child star Master Prageeth Sivan also star in the supporting roles.


It is worth noting that this is Soori's second film under Lark Studios production, after the huge success of Garudan.

Director Prashanth Pandiaraj, who gained attention with the web series "Vinangam", is making the film as a full-fledged commercial film, set in the backdrop of Trichy, that will be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults.

Mohanlal is said to have given the nod to Director Vijay Chandar who directed STR film Vaalu , Sketch with Vikram and Vijay Sethupathi film Sanga thamizhan. It is confirmed that Mohanlal is doing only a cameo in Mahesh Narayanan film with Mammooty- Fahad- Kunchacko – Nayanthara. He had only two days work in Sri Lanka schedule. The film completed work in Azerbhaijan and is now starting in Kochi. Both these portions do not have Lal and his screen time is only 20 minutes.

Nayanthara who turned almost six hours late for the Madurai success meet of her womens cooperative Femi 9 is facing heavy backlash from those who attended the event. Kamal Haasan was given a narration of the Gentleman film’s subject by Shankar. Kamal backed out saying that he had played a Brahmin in the fil Micheal Madana Kamraj and was not keen to do a repeat. Shankar who revealed this said that first choice was Sarath Kumar but he did not have the dates. Kamal Haasan recalling the shooting of Mumbai express in digital format recalled that Director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao who came to the location was stunned as he felt that he was shooting a film with a video camera used for weddings. Rao was used to filming with five to six cameras in one shot. Kamal said that his RKFI office has the Panasonic camera that was used and kept as an exhibit. It was the first film in Digital format to be censored and for that he had to get clearance from the Central ministry.

After Nayanthara, Dr.Aishwarya Lekshmi turns producer with Dr.Sai Pallavi in Tamil film `Gargi'

 Dr. Aishwarya Lekshmi, ( Action and Jagame Thanthiram in Tamil) turns producer with Dr Sai Pallavi in a women centric film Gargi directed by Gautam Ramachandran ( director of  Nivin Pauly's Tamil film Ritchie) . Filmed in Tamil, it will be dubbed into Telugu and Kannada. On Sai Pallavi's birthday, a video showing Sai Pallavi dubbing in three languages for the film with excerpts from film was streamed. On the same day, Sai Pallavi with Sivakartikeyan as hero in Kamal Haasan production was announced.

Sai Pallavi, a Kannadiga and a medical doctor ( yet to get registered in India as she had taken her degree from abroad) shots of her dubbing in her own voice for Kannada version had Kannada movie goers go in a tizzy. From the scenes, Sai Pallavi plays a middle class woman. Sai has Virata Parvam opposite Rana who plays a real life character of a Naxalbari comrade. It is due for July 1 release.

Aishwarya Lekshmi recent Malayalam outing Archana 31 was a modest hit. She is making her Telugu debut with Godse opposite Satya Dev and a Telugu- Tamil Gatta Gusthi with Vishnu Vishal. Aishwarya did her MBBS from Sri Narayana College in Ernakulam and Sai Pallavi has written the exams for those with medical degrees from abroad. On passing it she can register with the IMA to practice.

Kaanekkaane Malayalam film review: Suraj Venajaramoodu keeps you rooted

Suraj Venjramoodu being cast as the father of a daughter lost in an accident is what makes Kaanekkaane , a treat to watch. Though at times it reminds you of `Finals’, Suraj brings in a variation and carries you through with him. You cry when he breaks down and smile when he walks away with a peaceful mind. The script no doubt is loaded favourable to Paul Mathai the father who stumbles upon something related to his daughter’s death. It is quite late into the happenings that writer Bobby –Sanjay start to bring out the other side of the hubby and his new wife , played with ease by Tovino and Aishwarya Lekshmi . In fact it is good to see Aishwarya back as an actress of substance as most of her recent outings have been disappointments. Tovino, once again after Kaala takes up a role that is far from heroic. Kudos to that.

Moral dilemmas have always a subject that is debateable and here too it is bound to happen with the viewers. The use of a hit and run accident used at three different junctures gives it a suspense feel  and sort of takes you off from the mind games.  Cinematography, Music go along with the narration.

Manu Asokan next after Uyare teams with the writers to give a film that leaves a lasting impression on the mind of the viewers. Suraj  sort of sums up the post retirement days of a employees aptly when hej says that visits from his daughter and family , laying a wreath on the cemetery for the annual remembrance day and waiting with head held high for the final reckoning are the few pleasures that one looks forward. When small wishes get trampled, it does cause a pain that a younger generation will not fathom.
