Nayanthara for BIggBoss Tamil and Rs 400 crore needed to make Indian 3 a hit

Big Boss a Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s office and Banijay are in talks for hosting Big Boss Tamil next season, is what we heard just now. We were told that Vignesh Shivan , hubby , was in talks with the production company. In another related development, it is said that the team that was said to prepare a storyboard for Vijay Sethupathi as host for a promo has been told to put it on hold. Two things that could possibly happened is that VSP team might have asked for the same amount of Rs 150 crores that Kamal was getting or anuthing more than Rs 100 crore plus. Banijay has to convince the sponsors and they are those looking for targeting urban class and Tier 2 cities. Apart from this the audience of BB Tamil is spread across many countries and they are those that view them on HotStar app. This audience would be nil for VSP. Though Maharaja got a good run in OTT and theatre, his previous films were duds. On Netflix, Maharaja termed a hit was no 5 among non English films but Indian 2 which is termed a flop was on 7th spot globally.

At the same time, Nayanthara is an option that loomed big . For one the fact that for first time a full time Lady Host for BB is new concept and no language has tried it and secondly that she is a known face across all regions. Added to this, Nayanthara exposure to advertising and her dress sense could be an added advantage. It was Kushboo who turned host for a Jaya TV show and created a big buzz. Women audience waited to see what Kushboo wore for the show and soon they were copied put out on the market. Ramyakrishnan was also a popular host of TV show. In Hindi it is Rs 173 crore nett. In North America the film has already surpassed the total earnings of “RRR” (including re-releases) and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal”. The film will gross more than $16 million by the end of its second weekend. The film has a good chance of becoming the highest-grossing Indian film ever in North America. Currently, “Baahubali 2” holds the top spot with a total gross of $20.5 million. “Kalki 2898 AD” might surpass this collection.

Government order mentions Thalapathy Vijay - Game Changer 2 - Chiranjeevi takes dig at Rajini

Latest news coming from Shankar camp is that Ram Charan’s Game Changer will release in two parts. Reason being that that film has exceeded the budget and if the film releases in one part the producers Dil Raju and Sirish will be left with nothing as the amount got from OTT – digital rights and theatrical business has been spend on shooting so far and still Shankar has not told about when the film will be wrapped up. The producers feel that if the first part does well, then the second part will give them good profits, there are reports that Shankar has enough footage of Indian 2 and so an Indian 3 can be expected.

In a recent interview Chiranjeevi said that he does not depend on BGM to elevate his performance and excite the audience. Many feel that this was a dig at Rajinikanth as at the success meet of Jailer he said that when saw the film without BGM it was just an okay film but after Anirudh’s BGM, it became extraordinary. With one week to go , Leo advance booking in UK has crossed the record set by Paathan. Leo has grossed £ 320.6 k while Pathaan had € 319 K. This is also first Tamil film to get such an advance booking in UK as so far only Hindi films and that too SRK starrer got such numbers. In USA , premiere show booking it at 4 slot as the firsr spot is Kabali, second is Ponniyin Selvan 1 and third is Jailer. Meanwhile many have questioned the Government order issued to grant extra show to Leo for first five days. The order mentions the actor as Thalapathy Vijay and many have asked since when did GO started using titles given by fans. Theatres have decided to have FDFS from 9 AM on Oct 19. Last show is at 1.30 PM. Runtime is 2 hours 44 minutes and 22 second. Makers announced that the film is coming on IMAX screens.

A R Rahman - Anirudh team up for Indian 2 - Mohanlal - Prithviraj latest news

Fans are eagerly anticipating the collaboration between AR Rahman and Anirudh Ravichander in 'Indian 2'. Anirudh had previously incorporated Ilaiyaraaja's music in 'Vikram', which has further piqued the audience's interest in how the two composers' music will blend together in this film.

Reports indicate that music composer Anirudh Ravichander has started working on the background music for the upcoming film 'Indian 2', which is currently being filmed. It is said that Anirudh will be creating new music for the movie, while also incorporating some parts from the original film's soundtrack. Director Shankar reportedly requested permission from AR Rahman to use the music from the first 'Indian' film, to which the Oscar-winning composer agreed.Directed by Shankar, 'Indian 2' features an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, and Guru Somasundaram. The movie is a sequel to the original 'Indian' film that was released in 1996. Indian batsman, Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh shared a snap of himself from the makeup room as he geared up for the shooting.

Mohanlal, , is preparing to make his directorial debut with the movie 'Barroz', and as a result, fans are eagerly anticipating any news about the project. The latest updates suggest that the filmmakers are aiming to release the film on Onam this year. ‘Barroz’s story revolves around a 400-year-old spirit who is assigned the duty of protecting D’Gama’s treasure that should be handed over to the only true descendent of D’Gama. The script of the movie is penned by the director Jijo Punnoose who delivered India’s first 3D film ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ and for the same reason, the expectation levels are quite high among the audiences. Mohanlal plays the central character Barroz in the movie and the rest of the cast majorly includes foreign actors. ‘Minnal Murali’ fame Guru Somasundaram will be playing a significant role in Mohanlal’s debut directorial venture ‘Barroz’.

 Kaaliyan is a film packed with action, featuring Prithviraj in the role of Kunjirakottu Kaali, a forgotten hero and fierce warrior from the Venad kingdom. The music for the film will be composed by Ravi Basrur, known for his work in the popular film KGF. The remaining details about the cast and crew have yet to be officially announced. The film is being directed by S Mahesh, a former journalist and martial arts expert, and is being produced by Magic Mountain Cinemas, headed by Rajeev Govindan. According to the producer's recent interview, the production is scheduled to start by the end of June, following the construction of large sets in Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, and Palakkad by the team.

Kamal Haasan- Shankar ` Indian 2' abandoned ?

 Multiple sources seem to confirm the news that Indian 2, the mega budget film with Kamal Haasan and director Shankar has been given a silent burial. Checking out this news on many fronts related to Actor Kamal Haassan and director Shankar. events that are moving rapidly, Indian 2 will probably go down as a ill fated film project that took off in style and got a silent burial. 

For one Bigg Boss Tamil next season is fast getting ready to go on floors and as with Bigg Boss Ultimate, this will be a 24x7 on Disney Hotstar with a 90 minute capsule every day on Star Vijay. Kamal Haasan is the host and as things move on STR might step in. STR link with Disney- Hotstar and Star Vijay was the reason for his presence at Vikram' audio . Vikram OTT rights is with Disney- Hotstar.

Kamal Haasan is in talks with Rajmouli for a Mahesh Babu Pan Indian film. His next as actor is with Pa Ranjith as director and once again with Lokesh Kanakraj and followed by  Mahesh Narayanan as director. All are his own productions. Apart from this he is to produce a film with Sivakarthikeyan as hero. Though production side will be handled by Mahendran , executive producer, Kamal as actor has his calendar full. In this calendar, Indian 2 does not figure.

For Shankar, Ram Charan film will keep him occupied for rest of the year. The film is releasing only for Pongal ( January 2023). Reshoot of portions of comedian Vivek and making changes to bring in another heroine  in place of Kajal Aggarwal ( got married and is mother of a baby girl) are the two major headaches. Secondly, Lyca Productions who wanted the film to be ready for Diwali release finds that it is sitting on a project that is ill fated as spending more money on it to reassemble the broken pieces  might not be a good decision. Apart from this, the death of crew members in an accident too is seen an ominous.  Lyca needs to put in Rs 50 crores more and another half of it on promotion. After Marudhanayagam, Sabhash Naidu, Indian 2 is likely to be Kamal Haasan's third film that took off and got shelved ,if  trends are any indicators.

In May 2020, India Today reported the film was shelved but a LYCA spokesperson replied saying " We have completed almost 60 percent of the film’s shoot. How will we consider dropping the project?. We will start after lockdown".

Boney Kapoor legal victory ends Shankar - Ranveer 's Anniyan Hindi remake bid ?

 

Boney Kapoor getting a court order  that it is the producer who has the copyright over the film content and not the director ,will probably end the legal fight by  Producer Ravichandran that his film `Anniyan' cannot be remade by Shankar in Hindi without his permission. Shankar was to remake the Hindi version with  Ranveer - Kiara Advani in lead and Gada of PEN to produce it.

S J Suryah directed film Vaalee which had Ajith in dual roles was a runaway hit. It took Ajith to stardom and Suryah got a name as director. The film was released in 1999. Ajit got the best actor award from Cinema Express and Filmfare , NIC Arts Chakravarthy the producer had inked a deal with Boney Kapoor and sold the remake rights of all languages ( except Kannada)/  In Kannada it was remade with Sudeep and Sadhu Kokila . Director S J Suryah had sent a notice to Producer and Boney Kapoor that it cannot be remade without his concurrence. The matter went to court.

 Suryah moved the Madras  High Court  single bench to stake his copyright claim on the story and screenplay and showed the film credits that acknowledged it and wanted a stay order but it was turned down. He then moved the Division bench.  Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P D Audikesavalu mentioned, “Merely because the producer gave credit to the appellant herein as the author of the screenplay or the dialogue would not amount to an acknowledgement of the appellant’s copyright therein.”

“There can be no dispute that in respect of a cinematograph film, it is the producer of the film who is the owner of the copyright in the cinematograph film itself… Insofar as the copyright in the original story or the original screenplay or dialogue is concerned, to the extent the same is used in the film upon due consideration therefore being tendered by the producer, the producer is also deemed to be the owner of the copyright therein” the bench added.

Aascar Ravichandran on hearing that Anniyan was getting remade in Hindi by it's director Shankar without getting any permission moved the court. He claimed that the story was bought from Late Sujatha by him and apart from that as producer he has all copyright on the content being producer. The verdict in Boney Kapoor case when applied to Shankar means that the latter will have to drop the project. Ravichandran announced that he himself is going to remake the film in Hindi and said that Jackie Chan with a Bollywood actor would act in it. Ravichandran is distributor of Jackie's films in India and even got him to come for the audio release of Kamal Haasan's Dasavathram produced by him.

S J Suryah said that he would challenge the verdict in Supreme Court. Boney Kapoor, meanwhile, is also remaking Tamil hits Comaali, Kolamaavu Kokila, and the Malayalam film Helen in Hindi. About the making of the film, Ajith mentioned that Vaali "was very close to my heart and I gave it everything I had", revealing that he had initially received a lot of bad publicity and scepticism for doing a dual role too early in his career. In Hindi, Vaali was remade  as Sheesha where the wife has a same-face sister. In Tamil, It tells the story of Deva and Shiva, two look-alike siblings with Deva being deaf and dumb. When Shiva marries his sweetheart Priya, Deva becomes obsessed and has a lust towards  Simran played the wife and Jyotika an imaginary charcter Sona. The soundtrack was composed by Deva and lyrics were written by Vairamuthu with songs like "Oh Sona" and "April Madhathil" being popular.
