 We know that Manu Anand co Director of Vishaal film Aaryan is on list of Directors adhik Ravichandran to direct Ajith. Now it seems Lokesh has joined the waiting list by seeking an appointment . He told Gobinath about it. Now the reports say that he has got an okay and to top it it will be funded by Kamal Haasan banner.

Ajith Kumar responded to the backlash for the comments he made about the tragedy that unfolded in Karur at a political rally. The actor shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, that the tragedy is not one person's responsibility, but the collective responsibility of everyone.

Speaking to Chanakyaa, Ajith said, "My interview to an English language publication, which was done with the intention to inspire youth in a positive manner, has been used by certain people to further their agenda. I understand that anything can be used to sensationalize the audiences. But I want to move forward in the path I like, with straight forwardness." He added, "My well-intentioned messages has not been carried properly. It has been used to pit Ajith against Vijay, and fans of Ajith against fans of Vijay."

Speaking about the Karur tragedy, Ajith said, "What happened in Karur was unfortunate. It was an accident waiting for a long time to happen. It has happened in a movie theatre in Andhra Pradesh, at a cricket stadium in Bengaluru, and has happened in many countries. The rules of behaviour at a public place applies to me and everyone. I trust my opinions won't be interpreted in the wrong way."

He added, "Some outlets pin the blame on the fans. I would like to highlight a situation. After the passing of my father, when we were transporting his remains, some outlets followed us with their cameras. They tried to record some visuals of a lifeless body. If certain outlets behave like this, then how can they question the fans or the party-people."

"Those who try to frame my interview against Vijay, should do well to keep silent. I have always wished well for Vijay. I wish everyone to lead a good life with their respective families," said Ajith Kumar.

When it comes to storytelling, costume designer Amritha Ram considers Mani Ratnam a “magician”. Her belief was strengthened further when she worked with the filmmaker on Thug Life, styling Kamal Haasan in the action drama. “I see why Mani sir and Kamal sir get along. Their discipline and homework is spot on. Before beginning work, Mani sir gave a holistic understanding of the world. Then we did character analysis. The film is divided into three parts in terms of looks — Kamal sir’s Delhi portions, then Nepal, and Japan. The look requirements were locked in the research phase,” she explains.

Thug Life — also starring Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, and Abhirami — sees Haasan as a gangster who is betrayed by those closest to him. When crafting his look, Ram says the challenge was to capture both the superstar’s gravitas and the character’s reinvention. “We crafted a look that’s edgy yet timeless, keeping Kamal sir’s larger-than-life persona in mind,” she reveals. 

The most challenging part was cracking Haasan’s look for the Nepal portions of the narrative. “The look needed to be minimalistic and rooted in Nepal. Zeroing in on that was hard, because it had to be balanced while capturing the maximalism of the region’s cultural tapestry. It became my favourite look,” she exclaims.

M Sasikumar’s film arrived on JioHotstar on June 2 and has been getting love from the OTT audiences, but it is getting enough love from the theater audiences as well. In 7 days, the film has earned a total net collection of 74 lakh at the box office!

After its OTT arrival on June 2, Tourist Family earned 26 lakh at the box office. Ever since the film churned out decent numbers, earning 20 lakh this weekend, June 6 – 8! On June 2, the day of the release, day 32, the film earned 63 lakhs! It would be interesting to see if the film closes its theatrical run this week.

Rajinikanth Coolie is moving towards taking the Diwali slot that Thalapathy’s Jana Nayagan is to vacate. From trade circles, it seems that Coolie makers have put out feelers that they are moving to this slot instead of August 15th. Jana nayagan posters came out release date and so the talk is that releasing the film close to Assembly polls should be ideal as Thalapathy TVK is to contest all seats. Second news is not confirmed but purely speculative. Atlee – Salman combo was in talks with Kamal Haasan was one news and now comes another that Kamal has said NO and so they moved to Rajinikanth. Kamal back on December 9 for Amaran success meet ; TN CM is Chief Guest - Rajini Coolie on May 1 - T69 update

 Kamal Haasan will be back on December 9 from USA to attend the success meet of his production Amaran. The public function will see Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin will be Chief Guest. As December 12 is Rajinikanth birthday, the Superstar goes out of town and so his availability for the function is not known. But as of now December 12 is the Amarn event .Though it was widely publicised that NetFlix pushed the premiere by a week and release it on December 5th due to good theatre collections, the real reason was that Kamal who is away in USA wanted to hold the function just few days after OTT release and thereby give out a final tally at theatre box office at the event. He could arrive only by first weekend of December and so he and NetFlix agreed on this release date. The box office collections after the second weekend has dropped drastically in all releasing areas and with Kanguva coming on November 14th, the film's run will be almost over. On Tuesday, it was Rs 3.6 cr in Tamil and almost a pittance in other States.

Coolie directed by Lokesh with Rajinikanth is all set for May 1 the workers day and also it will get an extended weekend holiday. Lokesh after the film has to move to Kaithi 2 with Karthi. The film has Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sruthi Haasan, Sathyaraj, Shoubin, Music by Anirudh. Aamir Khan is said to have played a cameo.

Rajinikanth and Dhanush in Jailer (2023) and Captain Miller (2024) , Shiva Rajkumar revealed that he has been approached for a role in Thalapathy 68. Talking to Radio Mirchi , ge said - “They have approached me for a beautiful character in Vijay’s film. It sounds interesting, but I don’t know how it will shape up because of my dates. They are saying it’s Vijay’s last film, but I personally feel it should not be so. As a friend and well-wisher, I think Vijay is a fantastic actor and a good human being. The ambition that he has got is fantastic. I respect him for that. So I hope I freeze the project.”

No over work in Coolie - Rajini TIMELINE - 1 month rest

 

Director’s Lokesh instructions that he took ill and was rushed to Apollo is wrong.  The Time Line is as follows’

Rajinikanth experienced stomach pain during his stint In Vizag schedule of Coolie. As the weather was getting worse with a cyclone coming, Rajini came back to Chennai . we reported in our September 4^th blog. Cinema Murasam too reported. Truth is that from that day onwards, the actor has been under Dr Satish scanner. The aneurysm is a bulge in the artery and here it happened to the one that feeds blood to abdomen.

The first step was to treat it through medications . This step showed mot much of progress.. It was then decided that after the audio release and a few days of Coolie shoot, the non invasive surgery instead of open surgery can be done. However, the bulge started to swell and pain increasing. It was then that he was taken for  aortic aneurysm.

Going by what Doctors say, he will be back to shoot in a month’s time. However, staying away from Chennai’s Apollo Hospital is not advisable. The new surgery does not impose any fresh restrictions on his lifestyle. A care monitoring of BP and areas around where the incision was made will be made.

Director Abbas A. In the film 'Fight Club' directed by Rahmat, Vijay Kumar is playing the lead role and actress Monisha Mohan Menon has been paired opposite him. Along with them, Karthikeyan Santhanam, Shankar Das, Avinash Raghudevan, Saravanan Vel and others have played important roles.

Sasi has composed the story for this movie with cinematography by Leon Brito. Music composer Govind Vasantha has composed the music. Krupakaran has done the editing work to look after the art direction of Etummalai Adikesavan. Lokesh- Rajini film on IMAX camera - Leo success meet - Nelson next with Nayanthara - Yugendran - Vinusha out of BB 7

 

Rajinikanth Thalaivar 171 directed by Lokesh will be shot in IMAX camera, revealed cinematographer Manoj Parmahamsa. He said at present there is no lab in India that process IMAX. He said that it was Vijay while shooting for Leo had told him to take up Rajini film as he felt it would be bigger than Leo. Manoj said that Rajini film script was written before Mananagarm. The film has lot of VFX work. Work will start as soon as Rajini completes T J Gananvel film.

Mrunal Thakur after Sita Ramam has not had any major release in the Telugu filmdom. Now she has Nani’s Hi Naana and Vijay Devarakonda film Family Man. The box office success of these films is crucial for Mrunal to stay in Tollywood.

Latest news on Leo is that there will be a success meet on November 1 and Makal Iyakkam members will take part in it. Vijay and Leo team will b attending it. Venue and other details are not known. The event will take place before the OTT release. Lokesh had said that as the audio launch was cancelled, Vijay wanted an opportunity to talk to fans.

Producer Lalit Kumar said that Tirupur Subramanian was hurling false accusations as he did not get the Coimbatore area distribution and he said the same terms of profit sharing was done for Varisu in major areas excluding C centers. Lokesh at the Japan audio launch said that after Rajini film, he will direct Kaithi 2 and after that a film on Suriya Rolex character. “ Dilli will be back soon” he said at the event and made Karthi fans happy.

Lyca is in talks with Nelson to do a sequel of Kolamavu Kokila. The film is centered around Kokila played by Nayanthara.  It was remade in Hindi with Jhanvi Kapoor and is being streamed on OTT. Nelson after Jailer blockbuster might do this film as his Dhanush film to be produced by Raj Kamal is getting delayed. Dhanush next is with Sekar Kammula and this a Telugu- Hindi bilingual.

Atlee's SRK Jawan is part of Lokesh universe - Meera Jasmine bilingual - Mohanlal Vishu treat

According to recent news, Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film "Jawan" is scheduled to release on June 2nd, which is 48 days away from its release. Last week, SRK shot for a song at various locations in Mumbai. Recently, a Reddit user has made a new claim that "Jawan" is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which already includes films like "Kaithi", "Vikram", and "Leo". The user believes that adding "Jawan" to this universe would make it even more popular. The user provides several reasons for their theory. Mohanlal - Lijo Malaikottai Valiban Vishu treat Since the announcement of Malaikottai Vaaliban, the movie has been highly anticipated by audiences. On the auspicious occasion of Vishu, the film's team released the first look, featuring the complete Malayalam actor Mohanlal and the talented filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. The poster showcases Mohanlal in a fiery appearance, generating more excitement for the movie. The film is being produced by Shibu Baby John, Kochumon, and Anoop, and the shooting began on January 18th in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and is still in progress. Despite rumors about the film's storyline and background, the producers stated that all reports that have been publihed have no bearing to Malaikottai Vaaliban's story. The names of the other actors in the movie alongside Mohanlal have not been disclosed yet. Malaikottai Vaaliban is being made on a significant budget and is set to release in major Indian languages besides Malayalam. The movie's has an ensemble cast of well-known actors from different Indian languages. Mandhu Neelakandan, who worked on Amen, is the cinematographer, and PS Rafique is scripting the movie for Lijo. Vikram Hindi dubbed film viewing experience

Experience of seeing Vikram Hindi dubbed in a city theater of Mumbai was told me . A nutshell of the viewer's observation : The first thing one gets to see is is that the audience of families with kids have come. It is obvious that the audience have not seen the teaser or have any clue about the film which is no stuff for kids.  As the film starts and moves forward , except for Kamal Hassan intro, Faahad Fazil and Vijay Setupathi get no whistles. Audience have no clue about Faahad or VJS. Biggest surprise is that  only a few recognised Suriya in the climax and that too as ' I have seen him in Tamil films '.  For  Hindi audience, Vikram is a Kamal Hassan film and not a multi- starrer one.

Now lets hear about the dubbing quality. Nothing bad or jarring. Here the biggest spoil sport is the censors. They have muted out so many portions in dialogues that got claps and whistles in Tamil. What is good for Tamil is poison for Hindi wallahs. Words like Rebel - terrorist are muted. Height of censorship was Suriya iconic dialogue on  life time settlement has been butchered ( muted).

Lokesh had said that if one sees Kaithi before Vikram, many things will fall in place. In Hindi, the character of Arjun das brother Adaikalam is Amruthraj   in Hindi and VJS is Santhnam which is Chandan ( sandalwood) in Hindi probably for same meaning. Like in Master Hindi version, here too a few different shots like a paper which has Chandan written on it have been shown and it is a good effort. Anbu becomes Billa, Dilli becomes Shiva and Adaikalam is Ranga in Kaithi Hindi dubbed by Goldmines. 

Wonder why Periyathambi and his village cooking YouTube channel  is retained in Hindi. For Tamil audience, it strike a chord and the way the recipe is presented is a big hit. To imitate it in Hindi is just foolish endeavour and serves no purpose.

Otherwise as far as musical score is concerned, there is no change. Hindi film does have the goose bump moments and not that it is a total waste. Advise is go through Wiki about Kaithi film role names as some are retained as in original. If you cannot get a Tamil print nearby, Hindi will not totally disappoint you is the parting summary by my Mumbai Ka Dost.
