Dulquer - Ravi back - Sruthi Haasan and Kamal in Thalaivar 171

Latest buzz is that Thug Life is starting shoot on April 20th. Guess What? Dulquer and Jeyam Ravi are back in the cast and it seems STR will also be part of the film. Dulquer and Ravi projects had a delay and the dates were available and Mani Ratnam has made use of it. Now we may think that STR might be having a cameo but it is not so. He comes in two different makeovers in the film. From Thug Life we move to Kalki where Kamal plays the baddie. This Prabhas film has collected Rs 200 crores as advance from two Telugu States. This amount is what a Rajamouli film can dp. The distributors have to get back their investment as well share after paying GST. This means a gross of Rs 400 crores. Prabhas Salaar distributor share was Rs 147 crores. Producers are confident as the risk is on them and they will have to pay back the shortfall, In overseas too the film instead of being sold outright has been given on advance basis. Yet another Kamal linked news is that Lokesh who is directing Thalaivar 171 has got Sruthi Haasan in the to be release first look video. Is she acting in the film? Already reports say that Sathyaraj is playing the baddie. But our source says that Ranveer Singh had taken part in the first look shoot. We has reported about this possibility. Rajinikanth 171 by Lokesh Kanagaraj has got a new addition to cast and that is Ranveer Singh. The list of actor approached included Prithviraj too. Now we hear that Ranveer was told the portion that was offered to SRK by Lokesh. The role was tailormade for SRK as it was anti hero role with comic touch and a Casanova to boot. The character we are told is that he plays an aide to Rajinikanth m who is a undercover agent of the Customs. He is set up as a new entrant who comes from abroad to play the Gold smuggling in Tamil Nadu and South India. He is said to have given up big time Gold smuggling on an International soil and decided to just indulge in small time smuggling to earn his retirement expenses. He gets on the wrong side of the Maffia. Added to this Customs gives him an aide who was an agent of the Mafia within Customs but is now turned a leaf by deciding to help Rajinikanth by posing as an expert in gold smuggling and if the operation wins, he would get a permanent job in Customs. Rajinikanth is confused as Ranveer hobnobs with smugglers and is seen mostly in the company of women. Is he two timing the Customs and Rajinikanth ?. Yet another problem is that Rajinikanth disclose his Customs identity as he would be exposed and has to operate only through Ranveer. SRK opts out of Rajinikanth film - Indian 2 - Ganguva postponed

Thalaivar 171 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is facing a major hitch as a particular role that is very vital but not a full length one needs some with a Stardom. Initially Mammooty was the choice but now it turns out that the Mega Star did not figure in the list. Lokesh is looking for a Star who has not paired with Rajinikanth so far . Mammooty said that maybe Lokesh might be toying with the idea to cast him but so far no one has approached him. He added that if there is a suitable role then he would accept. The recent buzz is that Lokesh called on SRK. Since SRK has done cameos before, he should be interested. SRK said no for two reasons. One was that he had decided not to do cameos. Secondly he said that there is a possibility of him starring with Thalapathy Vijay in an Atlee film and so did not want to do a cameo in a straight Tamil film. Who next ? The next choice is Salman Khan but Rajini has suggested Akshay Kumar with whom he worked in 2.0, a all time trend setter and highest box office grosser. As 2023 comes to an end Rajinikanth stands as the only non Telugu hero to make bo office register huge collections with Jailer figures. The Telugu version alone collected Rs 100 crores gross world wide and within two Telugu speaking States it collected Rs 85 crores. Dil Raju and Asian Studios bought it for Rs 13 crores. Even Vijay’s Leo was able to get this figures.

Latest buzz in Kollywood is that Indian 2 and Ganguva that were to come in January 2024 has shifted to August – September. Reason being that CG works are not going to be ready by then and some that has been done has gone back for correction. These film aimed for Pongal and Republic Day holidays. Now they are looking towards Independence Day and Ganesh festival. Kamal at Keraleeyam - Rajini villain avatar in 171 - Dhanush as Illaiyaraaja - Nayan 75 date

 

Keraleeyam was a star studded event with Kamal Haasan – Mammootty – Mohanlal- Shobana and Manju Warrier sharing the dais with CM Pinrayi Vijayan. Kamal in his speech said that he would speak in English as he wanted the World to know about Kerala model. He traced his career as child actor acting Sethumadhavan film to Madanolsavam being screened in Kerala Film Festival. He revealed that before entering politics, he met Pinnrayi and sought his advice. Mohanlal after his speech took a selfie with Kamal – Mammooty- Shobana and Pinnrayi Vijayan on stage. Kamal is also the Brand Ambassador of Keraleeyam along with Malayalam actors.

We got some inputs on Thalaivar 171 from Lokesh. He says that the film will explore the villainism side of Rajinikanth. He says that the actor’s villain roles are iconic and he has been given the liberty to go to any length by Superstar. Last time we saw a baddie Rajini was in Enthiran  which was  the highest grossing film in Tamil history. The record was broken by 2.0 .His early days as a baddie have some classics like 16 Vyathiniley, Moondru Mudichu, Avargal, Netri kaan to name a few.

Nayanthara 75^th film Annapoorni is set to release on December 1 and will clash with Harish Kalyan film Parking. Meanwhile Koozhangal which produced by Nayanthara banner has released on Sony Liv . Film was Indian entry at Oscars. Buzz is that the film did not take the theatre route as the film director Vinothraj instead of doing a film for Nayanthara company went on to do a film Kootukaali with Soori and Anna Ben. It is produced by Sivakarthikeyan.

Connekket Media that is producing Mohanlal film Vrushabha is to produce a biopic on Illaiyaraaja. R Balki is said to be the director. Dhanush is playing the composer’s role. It will go on the floors next year as Dhanush had D50 and D51 ( Sekar Kammula direction) to be completed.

Sivakarthikeyan is to do a film based life of cricketeer Natarajan and is directed by Arunkumar Raja who earlier did a film Kaana based on cricket. Sivakarthikeyan played a cameo in it.

Prithviraj in Rajinikanth film - Priyan - Akshay combo back - Vinusha exit BB Tamil 7

Prithviraj is in talks to play the baddie in Lokesh directed Rajinikanth film says a report. Lokesh has wanted the actor to play Rolex character in Vikram. The film will start next summer. Prithviraj plays a baddie in Prabhas Salaar and is also directing Mohanlal in Empuran sequel.

The combo of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan that gave many comedy hits was spotted in Hyderabad. Priyan was riding pillion with Akshay driving the scooter. Akshay was in the city to do a cameo in Singham Returns. Is this the coming back of the hit combo ? Last they worked in 2009 film Dana Dan. Priyan who headed the 2017 National awards awarded Akshay the best actor award for Rustom.

Rajinikanth fans are double excited with the Sun Pictures announcement of Thalaivar 171 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj with music by Anirudh and stunts by Anbu Arivu duo. The teaming of Lokesh with kamal resulted in Vikram which created box office history and that was broken by Rajinikanth’s Jailer. Now coming of two record breakers has excited the fans. Sun Pictures gifted 300 unit members of Jailer a gold coin and hosted a dinner. Meanwwhile Kerala movie goers are asking why Vinayakan who played the badde Varman was not given a car as Rajini- Nelson and Anirudh were given BMW.

Those in the know of things say that Nayanthara was paid Rs 11 crores for Jawan. If this is true then she is the first South actress to get a double digit renumeration for a Hindi debut. She might now up her price for South films too. Actress Poorna in an interview confirmed that Andrea had acted in nude scenes in Pisasu 2. Poorna is also acting in the film and said that Myskkin had confirmed it. She added that she does not have the courage to act in nude scenes and added that she cannot reveal anything more about it.
