Kantara climax for Suriya Karuppu / Tamil Nadu Buyer of Jana Nayagan Backs out

The latest update is that Suriya’s Karuppu will feature a climax sequence inspired by Kantara. The story revolves around the demigod Karuppasamy, who protects his people through Saravanan. In the climax, Suriya’s character is said to transform into Karuppasamy, delivering a powerful and emotional ending similar to Kantara’s impact.

To make the film even more gripping, the team has decided to shoot an additional action block, responding to the strong audience reaction to Kantara. Suriya has allotted a three-day call sheet starting November 15 for this new sequence, which is expected to raise the film’s scale and intensity.

Once this final schedule wraps up, the entire shoot will be completed, and the makers are likely to announce Karuppu’s release date soon.

According to Tamil media reports, the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of Jana Nayagan were sold for ₹100 crore to a distributor. However, the distributor has allegedly not paid the full amount and is now considering backing out of the deal. The reason cited is the political risk involved in investing heavily in a Vijay-starrer at this time.Industry buzz suggests that Jana Nayagan contains strong political references and punch dialogues, which could stir controversy and provoke rival reactions. This has reportedly made other distributors hesitant to buy the entire Tamil Nadu rights, with many now preferring to purchase individual area rights instead.Meanwhile, KVN Productions, the film’s producer, is still looking to sell the complete TN rights to a single distributor. As of now, Jana Nayagan is facing political issues in its theatrical business, and it remains to be seen how these issues will be resolved.

Idli Kadai has been available on Netflix since October 29, 2025. For the past two weeks, it has remained in the top ten list and held the number one position in India during that time. It is not only popular in India but has also taken the number one spot in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives. The film has also managed to enter the top 10 list in 15 countries, including Australia, UAE, Qatar, Singapore, Mauritius, Malaysia, Nigeria, and others.

WIMBLEDON HONOURS THALAPATHY VIJAY / Did Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh sau No to Coolie

As Sinner lifted his trophy after a high-octane five-set clash, Wimbledon dropped a striking visual featuring the champion in a power pose that mirrored Thalapathy Vijay’s iconic Republic Day poster from Jana Nayagan. With Sinner holding his trophy in selfie style — reminiscent of Vijay’s pose in the film’s teaser — the post was captioned, “The First Roar”, a nod to the powerful background score composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It continued, “JANNIK SINNER IS YOUR WIMBLEDON CHAMPION.”

In a first-of-its-kind global crossover between sports and Indian cinema, Wimbledon has paid tribute to upcoming Thalapathy Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan following Jannik Sinner’s epic win over Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Wimbledon final. The post, shared on Wimbledon’s official social media handles, sent shockwaves through fans across the globe — marking the first time an Indian film and actor have been honoured by the prestigious tennis championship.

This unexpected yet monumental tribute has made Jana Nayagan the first Indian film ever to be acknowledged by Wimbledon, cementing its place in global pop culture history. Fans were quick to connect the dots, hailing the crossover as a proud moment for Indian cinema and Thalapathy Vijay fans worldwide.

Was Vijay Sethupathi the first choice to do the role that Shoubin plays in Coolie ? Read on what Lokesh says - Revelation came about organically as a response to another question posed to Lokesh Kanagaraj. He was asked, “Lokesh, when you’re writing, is there a mathematical calculation like, Oh my God, he got a highlight in this scene, so he should get another highlight three scenes later?” His answer was: “No no, if I don’t have the highlight for that character, I won’t even approach them. Likewise, Soubin sir, and initially it was written for someone, some other star. I don’t want to mention the name, but I couldn’t work with him for various reasons. But I don’t know where to go after that because I really wrote it for him. I wrote for him for, uh, at least six months, and it was like he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t take it, and I don’t know where to fix that character.”

He didn’t reveal the name of the actor who was supposed to play that role initially. Then he went to Fahadh as his second option, and Soubin was his last option: “I want to work with Fahadh sir again, but Fahadh sir was also not available, and I didn’t want him to do the same thing he had done in Vikram. So I was searching for a lot of other actors, and finally, I’ve signed on Soubin sir.”

Coolie is releasing in theatres on August 14, 2025. The “Monica” song lyric video was recently released, and Soubin appeared in the video alongside Pooja Hegde. But here is a fun fact: according to Tupaki, that song was created for the character played by Nagarjuna, and in the final film, it is likely that Nagarjuna and Pooja are going to be the main focus.

Why Nasser son became Vijay's TVK member ? / Loveyapa Original Tamil hero Pradeep Hindi release

Why Actor Nasser son became a member of Thalapathy Vijay’s political party TVK ? Nassar traces out the journey – My son studied In Malaysia about gaming. He came out with flying colours and he developed a game for my Saivam. One day after launch, he along with his friends met with an accident. Three of his friends died on the spot. My son went into a coma. After he regained senses, the first word he said was Vijay. We thought that he was asking for his friend Vijay. My wife is a psychologist and she realized that my son is talking about Actor Vijay, as he was his great fan. Vijay on learning about this voluntarily came and met my son several times. At one point, my son refused to cooperate with physiotherapy and Vijay sent a video asking him to go with the treatment as only that will make him walj with him. My son is now walking and cannot communicate through words. We owe Vijay a lot and that is why my son is a TVK member. Please do not interpret it politically.” He added that Kamal Haasan took all the necessary arrangements on hearing about the accident. “Though many think that me and Sarath Kumar are on opposite sides due to Nadigar Sangham politics, it is not so. He took all efforts to see that the parents of three boys who died got the bodies without post mortem” he added. This is an interview given to Madan Gowri’s YouTube channel two months back.

Meanwhile Producer Kalaipuli Thanu is to release Sachein , the Vijay- Genelia film once again. The sogs are still a hit. Composed by DSP, the film is directed by John Mahendran son of legendary Mahendram. The film has not got much mileage on OTT or TV. Genelia is no more in circulation. The film was pitted against Kamal’s Mumbai Express and Rajini’s Chandramukhi. Only Chandramukhi ran. Plot of Sachein is a kid is dying and Vijay spends with her final moments keeping her happy. The plus points of Sachein are just three - charisma of Vijay and Genelia, Vadivelu's comedy and DSP's soundtrack

Loveyapa’s original Tamil film Love Today’s hero Pradeep Ranganathan’s Tamil blockbuster Dragon is coming on March 14th in Hindi as return of Dragon. With the second film as actor m Pradeep reaches Bollywood with a Hindi dubbed film. Pradeep has tagged SRK, Salman and Aamir in his Hindi version announcement.

Will TVK Thalaivar Vijay and SuperStar Rajinikanth attend Ram Charan Game Changer Chennai event ?

Will Thalapathy and Thalaivar join Ram Charan and Shankar for the Game Changer ( GC) promo event in Chennai ?. If Thalapathy joins GC event , there is a possibility of him going into a kutty story and given the fact that he heads the TVK, it would be broadside against DMK government is for sure. What if Rajini joins Thalapathy ?. It could see him talk about budding politicians and taking on the Goliath and here too it could be another kutty story . This combination could bring together the biggest ever viewership for the event and much needed publicity to get the opening.

The two actors have not given any nod to the invite. Shankar has directed Vijay and Rajinikanth. Dil Raju has proximity to both and another factor is that Mega Star Chiranjeevi is also keen that Ram Charan GC do a Pushpa 2. Chiru and Rajini are friends from Film Institute days. Apart from all this, Dil Raju’s distribution network and contacts can be of help to Vijay next and Rajini’s Coolie.

If the fans of both give support to GC, this could work wonders. Given that Ajith’s Vidamuyurchi is skipping Pongal, the only other possibility is that of Chiyaan Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran jumping into the fray.

The film is a political thriller. From what we get from those who saw GC in Chennai the average opinion we get is it's way better than Indian 2 , Slightly better than 2.0 I Nanban etc .

• But don't compare it to say Mudalvan or Indian or Enthiran or Gentkement or any 90s or 2000s Shankar movies. Second half is where we see Shankar brilliance film making

·         Politics game play is extremely good apparently.

·         Sj Suryah once again impressed with his acting, Srikanth gets a good meaty role. Jayaram also does well . Samuthirkarni role is very regular.

·         Songs looks good on screen

Vanangaan, Kadhalikka Neramillai  ( not confirmed yet), Ten Hours, Padai Thalaivan, Madraskaran, Tharunam, and Sumo are the Tamil films that will be be released for Pongal 2025.  Out of this Bala’s Vanangaan has the advantage.

GC censor report shows that there is no cuts for abusive language or violence excess. Liquor bottle labels shots were cut, mention of IAS officer Durga  shakti Nagpal name was changed to Suchitra Pandey. Other were technical cuts.

GC in Kerala will face Marco as opposition and Telugu version too opened yesterday to good response. In Tamil Nadu too, Marco Tamil is releasing this week.

Is Sundar Pichai of Google coming for TVKpublic meet ? Atlee met Kamal Haasan in USA for Salman Khan film. Surya reveals that A R Murugadoss will start Ghajini 2 in Tamil and Hindi simaltenoudly and there is a possibility that he might make a cameo in Hindi with Aamir Khan and vice versa. Nelson has got an ok from Thalaivar to cast Dhanush for Jailer 2. First things First.

From what we heard about the TVK party meet, Sundar Pichai among many others have been extended an invitation. The idea is to come out as a youth brigade that espouses the path shown by young achievers. Orders have been issued that no party member who is intoxicated should be  allowed inside the venue. Now all eyes are on the rain gods and the meet date October 27.

It seems that Jailor 2 launch could be the venue where Dhanush and his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth could turn up in public to show that they are back as hubby and wife. It will also signal Dhanush playing a role in the Jailor 2 with Pa in Law Rajinikanth. Dhanush was spotted watching Vettaiyan with kids on opening day. Is this the reason why the divorce case of the Dhanush- Aishwarya being postponed several times ?

With Suchi Leaks and Chinmayi get limelight ? Jordan actor sorry for Aadujeevitham - GOAT re-censor

Will Suchithra Tapes or Leaks get the importance that it deserved after the Hema Committee report that was released in Kerala ? Will Chinmayi’s allegation against lyricist Vairamuthu and actor Radha Ravi be brought to forefront now ? In an interview to IE, Chinmayi said - There were instances where actors named a big star in Tamil, but the accusations were soon retracted… Such names exist in all industries. I believe WCC can empower the system even more. When women in Malayalam name the men in Kerala, we must remember that Malayalam actresses have also worked in other languages, especially Tamil and Telugu. I don’t expect the WCC will empower other states. How much work will one set of women do?”

Thalapathy’ Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time has been censored once again by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Initially, the film was given a ‘U/A’ rating for a lengthy runtime of 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 39 seconds. However, additional scenes were added, thus taking the runtime to 3 hours, 3 minutes, and 14 seconds.

It looks like Saudi Arabia has not forgotten Malayalam film Aadujeevitham . Jordan actor Akef Najem has issued a public apology saying that he was sorry for acting in the film . He says that he was told that he had to play a rich Saudi man who helps a migrant worker get back to his country. And this is what drove me to approve the role, because it reflects the valour and humanity of the Saudis. As a surprise, when I saw the film, it presents, in addition to my ideal personality, some negative Saudi models," he mentioned in his official statement. He went on to state that he wouldn't have done the film if he knew the details. Najem also apologised to the people of Saudi Arabia and explained that he was misunderstood. The film was largely shot during the COVID-19 pandemic across extensive schedules in Jordan. Omani actor Talib Al Balushi, who played a ruthless sponsor in the film, quashed rumours that he has been banned from entering Saudi Arabia because of his role in the film. The film was sidelined by National Awards jury as the film has created a friction with Saudi Arabia. However Kerala State showered the film with awards. Aadujeevitham- the 2024 Malayalam-language survival drama film, written, directed and co-produced by Blessy, had won nine Kerala state awards. The Goat Life or Aadujeevitham tells the story of an Indian young man and his suffering with the sponsor who made him a prisoner tending sheep and camels in the desert.

Thalapathy's Circus Elephants - wrong images in Party Flag ?

No Political Party Flag in India has elicited such massive response. Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) flag unveiled by Thalapathi Vijay at outset looked like a copy of Spain’s flag and mixed with the Kerala Govt logo. But now Kannadigas say that it is Karnataka flag with Kerala Govt logo. Yet another design expert says that that it is an ulta (reverse) of FEVICOL logo of two elephants.

Now officially the Bahujan Samaj Party BSP Chennai chapter has issued a statement saying that the elephants are a copy of their party symbol which is Blue coloured one’s and also cite Election Commission rules. They threaten with a legal complaint. Now even the elephants are under suspicion. One group says they are not one’s that take part in war and are of African origin. They say it looks like circus elephants and that of the ones that were part of Devar Films with MGR. Coming to the logo. It is said instead of Vaagai flower (Siris tree/Albizia lebbeck).. the Monkeypod tree (Raintree/Samanea saman) flower for the original Vaagai flower was used instead. Vaagai flower is worn by soldiers during victory march in ancient era. They say that mistake happened as colloquially, the monkeypod tree is called ‘Thoongumoonji Maram’. Its bright pink flower resembles the white Vaagai flower.

The anthem song composed by Thaman is similar to “Aalaporaan Tamizhan” song from Mersal (2017). The TVK anthem video like in the film has shades of yellow and red splattered throughout the song, and the word “Tamizhan” appears frequently. Cinema Murasam Editor Devi Mani says that the 32 stars on flag remind one of 32 bullets in Eelam Flag. He also says that the silhouettes of Anna and MGR in the anthem show that TVK is against DMK and AIADMK. He says that TVK is wooing the Tamils abroad and especially the Tamil origin Sri Lankans. The Vaagai flower also has another connection—Tamil Eelam, thereby positioning TVK as a Tamil Nationalist party. The Vaagai tree is also the national tree symbol of Eelam. Take the lyrics -Tamizhan kodi parakkudu, Thalaivan yugam porakkudu, Moondrezhuthu mandhiratha meendum kaalam olikkidu” meaning the flag of Tamils is flying, the era of a leader is born, the three-letter mantra chant is being heard. Significantly ,the names of MGR, Anna, and Vijay are each formed by three Tamil letters. Vivek lyrics explain the flag’s colours and symbols—the colour red from blood, the strengths of two elephants, yellow decoration, and tilaka with blue and green. It is obvious that the colours indicate the vote bank TVK wants like: red for the working class, green for Muslims, blue for Dalits, pink for women, and yellow for Hindus. Cliched Hindu- Muslim- Christian holding the flag and Vijay being untainted and friend of all from auto driver to senior citizens – women. The last two groups hate the auto drivers is a reality. Personally, I feel that if TVK goes ahead on this line, then NTK will have to face stiff competition and to a certain extent ADMK. DMK men already have dumped MGR and Anna.

Sivakarthikeyan factory pollutes - Suraa worst film says Tammannah - Kurivi copy says Rajamouli -

Sivakarthikeyan’s Maaveeran is running to full houses and he plays a crusader taking up common man issues. In real life, he care two hoots for public issues and more so if it happens to be his own business. Residents at a village in Palladam in Tirupur have been protesting about the emission from a coal tar manufacturing factory and the owner is Actor Sivakarthikeyan. They gave petition to Collector and local police but no one has done anything. Just the other day an elderly man was admitted due to breathing trouble from the emission from the factory. They say that not once has the actor or his managers replied to their demand. Meanwhile Vineeth Sreenivasan revealed that when he was a Chennai hotel and eating a biryani, a young man waited for him saying that he was friend of a choreographer known to him. After that Vineeth made a courtesy talk and the young man told him that he was an anchor in Vijay TV. When he saw Marina poster only he realized that the man was Sivakarthikeyan.

Director Rajamouli in a tweet said he was replying to director Subramanian Siva that a film with Vijay was a copy of a film that he directed and Tamil film had changed the second half and it bombed, This was about Kuruvi that had a similar tale like Prabhas Chathrapathi directed by Rajamouli. Vijay fans say that SSR trolled their hero. Tammanah who is in talks to play opposite Ajith in Vidamuryachi says that the worst film in her career was Vijay film Suraa.

Dream Warrior S R Prabhu who makes films with Surya and Karthi stirred a controversy saying end of Superstar era and that content, collaboration between talents and avoiding clashes at box office determine success of a film. In short implying that the days when people going to see a Superstar film is over. Rajini and Vijay fans are livid at Prabhu’s observation. Many point out that it was what Rajini said about Superstardom at the Jailer audio launch

However, the iconic actor was recently spotted with a clean shaven look, indicating that he has completed filming his parts. At a recent public event, Director Nelson Dilipkumar confirmed that Rajinikanth has finished shooting for "Jailer". Despite disappointment from fans who were hoping for updates during Tamil New Year, Nelson promised that news about the film's progress will be shared soon. ----- Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay to opt for Telugu Director ? After tasting success with their recent releases during the Sankranti Season, Tollywood directors Bobby and Gopichand Malineni are reportedly in talks with Tamil film industry superstars Rajinikanth and Vijay. Bobby's Waltair Veerayya and Gopichand Malineni's Veera Simha Reddy were both well-received, with the former being a super hit and the latter a hit. It is said that the initial script meetings have been completed, and the directors are now busy finalizing their scripts and impressing the heroes with their narrations. Bobby is known for his mass entertainers that blend action and comedy, making him a good fit for Rajinikanth's fans and the Tamil audience in general. Waltair Veerayya showcased Chiranjeevi in an entertaining way, and Bobby could do the same with Rajinikanth. Gopichand Malineni's style also involves making mass action entertainers, which could be a good match for Vijay. However, there is no official confirmation regarding these films yet, and fans are eagerly waiting for more updates.

SRK Jawan to avoid clash with Vijay's Leo = Ajith in Dubai

The release dates for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie "Jawan" will only be revealed after consulting with the creators of Vijay's film "Leo". SRK and Vijay formed a close friendship during the filming of "Jawan" in Chennai and even attended Director Atlee's birthday party together. Atlee and Vijay have previously collaborated on blockbuster hits. There are rumors that Vijay will make a cameo appearance in "Jawan". Furthermore, the movie has additional appeal for the South Indian audience as it marks Lady Superstar Nayanthara's debut.

Shah Rukh Khan has collaborated with Atlee, a well-known Tamil director who has delivered a string of blockbuster hits. Their joint project, titled 'Jawan', is currently in the process of being filmed and features popular Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, and Yogi Babu. The music for the movie will be scored by Anirudh, a top composer in the Kollywood industry. Atlee, who has a substantial fan base, is eager for 'Jawan' to succeed not just in Bollywood but also in the southern Indian market. The makers of the film released a stunning teaser in June 2022, announcing the release date as June 2, 2023. However, as the shooting is still ongoing, the team is not rushing the post-production work and plans to push the release date to October , 2023, October 23 has been announced by the film's producers, Leo.

Sources say that Leo's Kashmir schedule is moving at a slower pace than planned. Severe cold conditions have played havoc with the shooting schedules and so there is a possibility that the film might not release on October month.

Thalapathy fans soon after the Thunivu show screened at 1 AM took to twitter taking potshots at Ajith’s moonwalk in the film. Dubbed cringe, the momentum gathered as the Varisu show was second and till that time the moonwalk got trending . The flow subsided  after Varisu show. It was AK fans asking to go to Varisu with a towel as it was a mega serial. Next was that Kushboo was missing from the film.

As time went now the question is about first day collections. Thalapathy fans say that Varisu will collect Rs 25 crore on TN Day one and AK fans says that Thunivu is in range of Rs 40 crores. AK fans hit back saying that even Varisu world wide collection will not match TN collections of Thunivu.

Another tweet that created a flutter was Keerthy Suresh official rooting for Varisu. As a report is circulating about a linkage with the actress and the actor, it further fuelled speculation.
