Dr.Atlee - Allu Arjun budget- salary Details / Anirudh says no marriage

Dr.Atlee called it India's most expensive film, however, when he was asked about the budget, he remained tight-lipped. He said "This is the most-expensive film, we are brining in all the new technologies in it. In terms of budget, the producer has to decide, my work is to direct the film. As of now I am having big dreams for the project. It is going to make all of us proud." After recieving the Doctorate fromthe Sathyabhama COllege ( University) in Chennai where he studied, he spoke about the film.

Apart from making US proud , Dr Atlee will also be the only Director in South India to recieve this amount as fees and thereby beating his Guru Shankar. Read on:

Previously, it was reported that the untitled project (for now being called A6) is being made on a budget of Rs 800 crore. With Atlee's new revelation, it is now certain that A6 is the most expensive Indian film beating, SS Rajamouli’s SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu which is reportedly made on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore.

Produced by Sun Pictures, Allu Arjun is reportedly getting paid Rs 175 crore along with a backend deal of 15 per cent stake in profits while Atlee will take home Rs 100 crore fees for his 6th film of the career, anchoring his brand value and box office power.

Previously, a video featured Arjun, Atlee, and Sun Pictures Kalanithi Maran visiting top visual effects studios in Los Angeles was shared on social media. They were seen discussing the script with Hollywood VFX artists. Jos Fernandez, CEO and Art Director of Ironhead Studio, as one of the technicians. He has worked on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain America: Civil War, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. James Madigan, VFX Supervisors for movies like GI Joe: Retaliation and Iron Man 2, were also part of the team.

In what would have a union of Anirudh top notch Music composer and nephew of Latha Rajinikanth with Kavya Maran , CEO SunRisers Hyderabad and head of Sun Music, daughter of Kalanithi Maran owner of Sun Network,  is also the grand-nephew of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Late M. Our Mumbai guys tell us that Keerthy Suresh’s Hindi debut film Baby John will release on August 2md. For Bollywood, this is a Varun Dhawan film and remake of Tamil film Theri with Thalapathy Vijay in the lead. Producer is Jawan fame Atlee. Now for us down South ,the film is a must watch as Keerthy plays Samanatha’s role in the Hindi. We are told that Keerthy has gone the Samanatha way and we have to wait to know what it means.

Kavin of Dada and Star fame is celeberating his birthday today along with Vijay. Except for posters on X, there is no fan messages. Anyway guys note this Kavin age is 3# and was born in June 22 1990. After Star, he has vecome a safe Star and there is Vetri Maran production and a film Bloody Beggars with choreographer Sridhar as director and Anirudh music.

To us it was a bit of shocker that GOAT was bought by Zee for satellite release in all languages. We were aware that Sun TV had paid a advance to AGS for the TV rights. How did it land up in Zee camp ?. Our trackers tell us that two reasons played out in Sun giving up the TV telecast rights. Primarily the amount quoted by Zee was Rs 75 crores. AGS wanted Rs 90-100 crores. Sun was not willing to go more than Rs 60 crores. Secondly, DMK First family had felt that if Sun bought the rights, it would not look good. Detractors would say that the DMK is making money out of Vijay and that they have a secret pact Sooner or later, Vijay’s TVK and DMK will have to cross swords and the Sun TV deal could be an propaganda weapon for Opposition. The new poster of old and new Vijay and a song released on occasion of Thalapathy Vijay B’Day has excited the fans. Seeman of NTK has praised Vijay skyhigh. There is a Mollywood connect that was revealed when Prabhas unveiled Bujji the wonder vehicle. The voice of Bujji is none other than Keerthy Suresh. Though a Malayali, she is actually a nall South actress and her chatter with Prabhas is become a hit after the video was released.

Mythiri Movie Makers who had bankrolled the Ranveer and Prashanth project are also behind the Shankar project. We are not sure whether the film subject is the one that Shankar was supposed to do . It was on a book written by Madurai MP and titled Vel Pari. Varma had done a promo shoot and done extensive pre- production activities. Mythiri has a co – production with Kalyan Ram for NTR Jr and Neel direction and apart from this it is behind Prabhas – Hanu directorial. Ram Charan tweet on Sanatana Dharma is being used by netizens to counter Udhaynidhi Stalin comment on the practice saying that it against social justice and must be eradicated. Using this mainly pro BJP netizens are circulating this tweet but Udhay has replied that he stands by his comment. Sun TV starts dirty tricks after Star Vijay takes lead

TRAI and I&B ministry on complaint from Star Vijay has send notice about unfair practices from the Sun Network . Sun TV for the first time has been beaten by a channel and that is Star Vijay . Week 24 saw Star Vijay GRP reach 772 and Sun was 749 across Chennai- Pondicherry. Sun network which controls cable operator SCV and OTT Sun Direct immediately pushed Star Vijay to lower LCN band and making it lower on cables so that viewers would have to reset favourites and those without these settings will have to go down manually to get Star Vijay. Star Vijay after getting BARC ratings advertised on digital platforms about beating market leader in Tamil Nadu. Sun TV officials have not responded to the notices or to request from Star Vijay. Sun Tv officials maintain that this jump is temporary and limited to Chennai region and outside they are the market leaders. For the BJP led Central ministry, the complaint from Disney India that owns Star Vijay, is a god send. It had been trying to end the cable operations of SCV or at least limit it. Late Jayalalitha revived Arasu cable of State Government to take on SCV owned by Kal Cables, subsidiary of Sun Network. To a certain extent, SCV growth and monopoly was limited. In urban areas and especially in Chennai, Tata Play the DTH operator has the largest numbers and followed by Airtel.

Sun has Sun Direct the DTH platform and when Tata Play entered Chennai market, the I&B ministry was with Dhayanidhi Maran of DMK. Facing many resistance from DMK, Tata took up the issue with Prime Minister office and got it resolved. Among the Tamil news channels, Sun News which initially climbed after DMK came to power, has now dipped as it cannot take an offensive stance, DMK first family owned Kalaignar TV is a lower position. Interestingly, Kalaignar TV was started after Sun TV and sister concern Dinakaran the daily newspaper rated M K Alagiri then Union Minister as poor performer. It led to assault on newspaper office and resulted in death of few employees. Later on the Kalaignar TV was involved in the 2G scam. To limit cable operations of SCV, DMK ministry started Arasu cable Corporation to end the monopoly. After the Murasoli family smoked the peace pipe with Karunanidhi family. Arasu became dormant and then took a new avatar when Jayalalithaa came back to power.

South movie content driven Goldmines channel is No 3 in India

Goldmines TV channel according to latest BARC rating is third largest viewed channel in India after Sun and Star Maa , Tamil and Telegu channels respectively. Goldmines Movies a You Tube channel,, that runs mainly on dubbed South films was running Dhinchaak channel. It decided to rename this as Goldmines Movies and by end of March , it started getting rating from BARC. After Information ministry approval, it is now just Goldmines.

The Dhinchaak ch6annel launched in May 2000 was a movie channel on Prasar Bharti platform of Free DTH and DD's Free Dish. By September 2020, it became top movie channel across rural and urban audience in Hindi speaking market. The entire success was that the South content dubbed into Hindi became a massive hit with the audience. The reach of Allu Arjun's Pushpa to Hindi heartland was the dubbed movies of him that were telecast by this channel. Channel continues to be beamed from the planet cast platform and has same frequency.

Latest BARC rating has shown that Goldmine has overtaken Hindi channel Star Plus in terms of Average Minute Audience (AMA) . The entire library of 2000 films is dominated by South content with Telegu and Tamil films being top priority. The Hindi dubbing rights for non theatrical - digital streaming is bought by Goldmines and they dub it and put it on the You Tube channel. Later they started having premier release of these dubbed films on the Dhinchaak channel and it got tremendous response.

Now it has got in to the BARC rating network and notched up third position. Among the top South Indian channels in TOP 10 All India list comes Zee Kannada and Zee Telegu along with Tamil channel Star Vijay.

If Hindi market is taken alone, Goldmines is No 1. In the South market, no Malayalam TV channel figures in the top 5 and has Sun- Star Vijay , both Tamil with two Telegu ( Star Maa and Zee) and a  Kannada channel of Zee in it. Manish Shah who owns Goldmines Telefilms and been in business for 17 years is the force behind Dhinchaak that is now Goldmine Channel. Goldmines You Tube channel has 42 million subscribers and 15 channels. It is biggest digital streaming network of Indian films. Valimai beats Vijay's Sarkar record betters Ajith's previous hit

 Opening day figures that have come in show Valimai having Rs 25.50 net collection and beating Vijay's Sarkar record of Rs 23.50 crores in Tamil Nadu. In terms of gross collection, Sarkar record of Rs 30.19 crores remains unbeaten with Valimai figures being at Rs 29.60 crores.

Karnataka region Tamil prints posted Rs 3.60 crore gross, AP/ TS ( Telugu Dubbed) with Rs 1.65 crores and Kerala with Rs 1.10 crores. In Kerala, Master held the record of having Rs 60 Lakhs  Hindi was a washout with  Rs 1. 15 crores.  Valimai  opening is the highest for Ajith film and beats his all time hit Viswasam opening day collections.

If one factors in the ticket  prices in 2018  for Sarkar and Viswasam in 2019 and that no other film is playing in any theaters of Tamil Nadu as well as official sanction to run morning shows from 4 AM, the margins blur and records might be more on paper .

Meanwhile Tamil TV actors are celebrating that one among them figured in Valimai with Ajith. Chaitra Reddy , popular actress who started in Zee Tamil and now in No 1 TRP rated serial Kayal on Sun TV plays a part of  the cyber squad that helps the hero track the villain. Though the role is confined to a room , Chaithra has many close up scenes and comes quite often in the film. Congratulatory messages from co- actors are pouring in.

Kamal Haasan exit from Bigg Boss exposes reach of OTT

 Exit of Kamal Haasan, host of Bigg Boss Ultimate reality show is the reach of OTT in Tamil Nadu ( outside Chennai) and also has brought back the comparison between the  5 serials TRP in both the channels. One major reason being said for Kamal's exit is that the OTT platform Disney Hotstar does not have the reach to take the show across Tamil Nadu and it was mutually beneficial for OTT platform and host to part ways. For Disney, the amount paid to Kamal was burning a big hole in the pocket and for the actor, his proposed visit to Paris Fashion week to promote his brand of Khaddhar clothes and  post production work that needs to be done abroad for his own film Vikram would have been affected if he were to be in  Chennai every weekend for next four weeks. Kamal has used the latest BOLT camera to film the climax and is leaving no stone unturned to make it a technical treat.

One of the contestants Thamarai in Ultimate show itself kept grumbling that her house in a village does have internet broadband to get a OTT APP and nobody had a Smart TV. Though Kamal read out figures of BB Ultimate voting to be double of BB on Star VIjay, advertisements and the in house brands that featured were nothing `national' about it.

By bringing in a lesser paid host for a weekend appearance and as the viewership on the days would continue like before, Disney would save the show from being a white elephant. As trade experts pointed out that with Mumbai- Delhi- Kolkata Metros as a strong market for BB, the OTT Hindi version was hosted by Karan Johar and not Salman Khan.

Secondly< STAR VIJAY, urban- rural combine TRP ratings has plunged and as per BARC rating even their flagship serial Raja Rani slipped gradually from No 1 to No 5.and shares spot with Sun TV's Roja. A One time No 1 Bharathi Kannamma of Star Vijay slipped to No 6th. Sun TV's Kayal is No 1.

Star Vijay, only channel to put up a fight in Tamil segment and be sixth on the All India list of viewed channels, has however a consolation that all the four top slots in BARC Urban belongs to their stable. Among the reality shows, BB is only one that has accepted by viewers and mainly because of the host reach outside the Chenaai Metro. Zee Tamil Survivor hosted by Actor Arjun and Sun TV's Master Chef by Actor Vijay Sethupathi failed to create any ripples.

Bigg Boss Ultimate contestant Thamarai revealed true face of BB5 Tamil runner-up Priyanka . A R Rahman follows Gabriella who plays title role in TV soap Sundari.Master Chef the global cookery show s Indian franchise has not paid the contestants even the travelling  and other expenses.  

Gabriella Sellus , the actress who plays the central role in Sundari , TV soap on Sun TV has A R Rahman as her follower on Instagram. Rahman follows only 64 people and one of them is her. Gabrella has close to 3 million followers and was very famous ugh her Tik Tok videos.  Sundari, No 2 n TRP is about a dark skinned girl fighting against all odds  pass the civil services exam.

Winnie, Devaki, Nithya, Krithika het four finalists in Master Chef show hosted by actor Vijay Sethupathi has posted on social media that they were promised travel expenses  and many other monetary benefits but nothing has come so far.  Devaki won the title . Prize money is Rs 25 Lakhs. The show franchise was bought by a Bengaluru company and Sun TV was the channel that telecast it. The show failed to create any ripples.

Star Vijay started OTT version of Tamil Bigg Boss reality show. Streamed on Hotstar, the show is slowly picking up TRP as 7-9 PM is prime time for TV serials and nobody is shifting from TV channel to OTT app, as per TRP figures . The contestants who did not make it to winning post in earlier seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil are in this OTT version titled Bigg Boss Ultimate. It is hosted by Kamal Haasan ( also host of BB past seasons).

Thamarai , a drama actress with no formal education and a village bumpkin had won the hearts of many who saw BB 5. Many also felt that it was a play acting by the lady. Priyanka, star host of Star Vijay  was one of the contestant. She appeared to be a Godmother of Thamarai and groomed her. In return, Thamarai was literally her cook- aide in the show. Now Thamarai who is in Ultimate show told contestant Anitha about Priyanka. " Inside the house, Priyanka promised me many things and told me that she would take me to meet many people. If Priyanka said she was hungry, I could not bear it. I would cook for her. Such was our bond. Once outside the House, she did not speak to me properly. Even at the finale, she just ignored me and did not respond to me. She did not make a call to me. Many others rang up. She being a celebrity, I could not get her personal number, " she revealed.

Further she said that Akshara, another contestant send her many clothes and kept in touch. " I realized that all that love and affection to me was for Priyanka  just a part of the game. To me, all the housemates were dear to me. I realised that everything in this house is fake and I too have changed and going to play to win, she told Anitha.  Even the male housemates were protective of Thamarai and shielded her in many ways to see that she reaches the finale. It was between Raju and Priyanka at the BB5 finale. The former walked away with the trophy.

Quiz shows from today to woo Telly viewers

 From today onwards, it is the season of Quiz shows – at least for many in the Hindi- Telegu and Malayalam TV viewers. Today we have Big B coming on Sony. Gemini TV, SUN TV Network’s Telugu GEC Channel is all set to broadcast ‘Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu’ by actor Jr NTR. ‘AnchinoduInchodinchu’–Malayalam version of the successful international format show “ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER” starts today on Surya TV with Suresh Gopi. Already you have at the same time band, a quiz show Oru Kodi with Flowers TV host Sreekantan Nair. 

KBC comes with a steady loyal viewership and a host Big B . Now that is not enough in times of pandemic. The curtain raiser promo, Amitabh Bachchan can be heard introducing Gyaanraj. It is to be noted that Gyaanraaj is part of a team consisting of 100 scientists that work as advisors for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. That takes care of the Modi Bhakths as well. Channel publicists have been active as media picked up a year back old FB post of the first winner of KBC who wrote about his squandering of Rs 5 cr prize money on business as he wanted to tell journalists that he was a successful investor. Now KBC is into the 13 th year and this year the ad volume rates are very low. Even the Tokyo Olympics ad revenue took a dip. 

Moving to South. Here the two shows starting today (Aug 23) has a time slot that takes a direct face off with all favorite soaps of the rivals and leaves the weekends open for other shows to fight it off. The truth is that Surya in Kerala and Gemini in AP/TS are two crosses that the successful Sun Network has been bearing. Now pitching these two shows at 8.30 PM, it sorts of hopes to neutralize the soaps of the rival channels. The marketing guys in TV ad world says that a survey conducted post Covid 10 1 Phase says that men audience are game to sitting at home and watching quiz shows or any reality show (other than the beaten to death singing- dancing reality ones) and so also the woman and kids. 

Though no one has the name of the agency who conducted the survey, TV addicts in Kerala and AP/TS say that as such the serials in top channel in these two States in 8.30 PM are boring. Flowers TV funded by chit fund owner Gokulam Gopalan who has invested his money (or investors?) in many biz and also has a stake in the Ezhava politics is pumping money to make it the top GEC.  Sreekantan Nair or SK who drives the channel GEC and news 24 Hours is inching closer to Asianet .  Flowers TV soaps not being able to make a dent, SK put Oru Kodi quiz show at Mon- Wednesday 8.30 PM and this was a new move. Such shows came only at weekends or Mon- Friday. It was a move to break the TRP rating hold, says Ad guys, 

Surya TV guys now pitched their Quiz show at same time- same days. Now Suresh Gopi the actor – BJP RS MP has been a successful TV host and his one liner at early shows are still popular. To give a curtain raiser, we get Kunchacko Boban, youth icon as first contestant. Moving to Andhra/TS, Jr NTR is an actor whose stronghold is in rural areas. Here the ball game has a new meaning. These two States are the ones that beat all fears of exhibitors when theaters opened after the first wave and second wave. A robust theater going public is intact. Even some films that would have flopped pre- Covid time were hits. 

Gemini then adds yet another film celeb – Tammannah Bhatia as host to Master Chef show starting at August 27th - Friday- Saturday 8.30 PM. It has decided to puta new serial at 8 PM- Sundari and Kaviyanjaali at 9.30 PM – Monday – Saturday. 

For a film crazy State add a curtain raiser of Ram Charan (top draw and member of Chiranjeevi clan) coming as celeb contestant is ultimate.  The blockbuster formula is ready to unleash. Here the TV viewers did plump in a big way for Bigg Boss hosted by actor Nagarjuna (appears at weekends). It was on Star. In Kerala, Mohanlal and Lalettan magic waned in the just concluded BB show on Asianet. In Tamil, Sun will have to face Zee coming with Survivor reality show and the next edition of Big Boss in Star Vijay hosted by Kamal Haasan.  

Now we will have to wait and see whether the serial makers formula makes more money for tv channels  or the quiz masters.  As if competition to theaters from OTT was not enough, BB Hindi has a OTT version .

STAR VIJAY does launch a double mega-serial on August 16th afternoon time-band.

Namma Veetu Ponnu &amp; Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum. Namma Veetu Ponnu (Mon-Sat 2.30 PM) -The cast includes Surjith (Karthik), Ashwini (Meenakshi), Ravi (Velu), Nithya (Visalakshi) and many others. Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum (Mon-Sat 3 PM).The cast includes – Pavithra (as Abhinaya), Vinoth Babu (as Vetri), Tharshika (Radha), Auditor Sridhar (Shankar Narayanan), L. Raja (Rangasamy), Priya (Kamala).

Kushboo and Radhika , two yesteryear heroines who had taken a break from TV is now coming back with a bang. Kushboo who as we reported is coming as Dr  Mangalam  in the serial Gokulathil Seethai, is now a judge in a dance reality show to be aired on Colors Tamil. National award winner Brinda is a co judge Meanwhile Radhika who became synonymous  with the all time hit soap Chitthi had taken a break from the second part due to various reasons. She is now making a comeback in the sequel.

After Kushboo posted photos of her having lost weight , fans asked the reason for this makeover. Now the reason is that she is making a total concentration on her film and TV career. She like Radhika was busy with State polls. Kushboo was a BJP candidate in Chennai and lost to DMK. Radhika was busy campaigning along with her hubby- actor Sarathkumar for their AISM ( ally of Kamal Haasan's party).

Radhika and Kushboo are acting with Urvasi in a Telegu film. Radhika who played the title role of Chitthi had essayed the same role in the second season. However, the serial that Sun TV had pinned hopes did not perform as expected. It started slipping in TRP and hit a dismal low. One major reason was that the actors in the serial had dropped out after being hit by Covid 19. After it came back, the new set of actors did not click. Chitthi , home production of Radhika, started tottering. Meanwhile Radhika's production company had developed fissures with Sun.

Now Radhika is all set to make a comeback in a reboot of the second season and hopes to bounce back. Kushboo's production house AVNI too faced trouble with Sun and had to stop streaming. Colors Tamil that is the new entry to TV market is now banking on Kushboo magic to bring it  visibility. Kushboo's track record as anchor and judge is excellent. Her Jackpot quiz show on Jaya TV(  then and now on a low TRP) got popular and started a market for Kushboo sarees. 

The Week 30 TRP shows that top No 1 and 2 held by Star Vijay ( Bharathi Kannamma) and Sun TV ( Roja) is very slender. In the top 10 TRP, Sun has conceded as many as five positions to Star Vijay. The coming weekends will see Sun's MasterChef ( cooking reality show) and Zee Tamil Survivor ( endurance - adventure reality show) anchored by  Actor Arjun. The I' Day weekend will see Tamil movies premiere and also in coming weeks. Sony Liv Tamil has joined the fray in telecasting new movies directly in it's platform. Colors Tamil too is in the race by building a movie library of classics.

‘Zee Thirai Premiere’ – ‘Ghazi’ on Thursday, 12th August at 4:30 pm, followed by ‘Marma Bhoomi’ on Friday, 13th August at 7:00 pm and last but not the least ‘Oh My Kadavulae’ on Sunday, 15th August at 7:00 pm.‘Dhilluku Dhuttu 2’ on 11th August at 7:00 pm which is a horror comedy film that features Santhanam and Shritha Sivadas in the lead. Ending the high-action-packed week is the story of a cop who is caught in between his duties and sinking marital life on Saturday, 14th August at 7:00 pm with ‘Kalidas’.
