In Kalki too this was an issue and now in the sequel her role would be reduced. The makers of Kalki also suffered as the actress took long hours for makeup and changeovers. “The actress never really worked effectively five hours a day,” a source in the Kalki unit told us. “If taking care of the Baby is the issue, she should have asked for a Baby-Sitter of her choice. She should have asked for shooting all her portions at a stretch to avoid traveling, accomodation and travel arrangements for the Baby and the Caretaker. Curtailing work hours makes no sense, they added.

They are now worried she would impose even worse conditions for the Sequel. A reliable source to Kalki team tells us that Nag Ashwin is looking ways to curtail her character to bare minimum or even ways to avoid her completely in the Second Part by tweaking the story a bit.

Kalki 2898 AD trailor gets less views on YouTube and X slams content

Kalki 2898 AD trailor response has the makers worried and also elated. First reason is that in 24 hrs after release, it has not become the number one in views as far as a Telugu film is considered. The figure is at 14 million views and that is less than Mahesh Babu Guntur Kaaram and Prabhas Salaar. In fact, if views taken across all languages, Salaar holds the record with 112.3 million. In fact, the second trailor of Salaar was 72 million. Both figured in the top 10 most viewed trailors on YouTube. In top 10 is Prabhas Radhe Shyam with 57 million views. After 24 hours, the Kalki language wise breakup is Tamil: 2.3 million views – Kannada: 949K views – Telugu: 14 million views – Hindi: 16 million views – Malayalam: 1 million views. As it shows that the viewership is only one fourth of the earlier films of Prabhas. Now yet another factor that brings cheer is that Hindi viewer response is the most positive. Going by response, the VFX and Prabhas and Disha looks have come under fire by Hindi reviewers, largely it has got positive response. One reason is that the Director Nag Ashwin is not a name that audience expect much and also Amitabh and Kamal looks have been talk of the town in North India. This in terms of advance booking has resulted in massive jump for Hindi version in North America. Mohanlal lied about Nazir -Rashmika replaces Samantha - Deepika with SRK IN Jawan -

Sreenivasan revealed in a media interview that Mohanlal turned down veteran actor Prem Nazir who had expressed his desire to direct a movie featuring him in the lead. Shah Nawas, son of the late Actor Nazir told Kaumudi Online that it was true that there was a proposal to direct Mohanlal and Sreenivasan was writing the script. Regarding this Lal and Priyadarshan had come to his house for discussions. " What happened later, I have no idea . But I have no reason to disbelieve Sreenivasan " he said. He also added that his father had planned a second film with Mammooty .According to Sreenivasan, Nazir had shared this idea with him during the filming of 'Kadathanadan Ambadi' directed by Priydarshan and had asked him to come up with a story suitable for Mohanlal.

Sreenivasan also mentioned that Mohanlal had apparently informed him of Nazir's proposal but had shown little interest in the project. Later, Sreenivasan had shared a storyline with an intermediary named Nadarajan of KRG Movies, which Mohanlal had rejected, Mohanlal told that Nazir at this old age should not take up direction. The same plot was used in the classic film 'Sandesham', an iconic film directed by Sathyan Anthikad.

Sreenivasan further claimed that Prem Nazir had paid an advance to Mohanlal at the wedding engagement ceremony , but unfortunately, Nazir passed away before the project could materialize.
