On Wednesday, Farhan Balaporia, content creator, claimed that his video criticising the actor had been taken down, labelling him insecure.

Without naming Vijay in the video, he said, "Now, I can't name him or her, but you will probably be able to guess as I tell the story. By the way, when a lion and tiger have a child, it's called a Liger." Liger was the title of the Puri Jagannadh film that marked Vijay's Hindi-language debut, but proved to be a failure at the box office. Later in the video, he said, "I have a friend named Arjun who is never ready on time." Vijay won fame with his hit, Arjun Reddy.

"The video that got taken down is basically him saying that Hollywood has bigger budgets because more people speak English, so the actors get paid more, and therefore they're more successful. My reaction was disagreeing with him, telling him that foreign films in different languages on low budgets have succeeded, whereas his own film with a high budget was unsuccessful," he added.

The creator also said "He'll just take it down again if I re-upload it because there is a clip of him in the reel," the creator said, promising to upload a new version where he will play the actor, and then post the reaction. In the caption, Farhan wrote, "Imagine being so insecure you can't take criticism from a random guy on the internet."

In the comments section, social media users guessed the actor in question was Vijay Deverakonda. One comment read, "Oh man. Such an insecure person he is, and I love this sarcasm." Another said, "CEO of pettiness." Another posted , "He must have said 'I...I...am...a...fighter' while taking down your video."

Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Kingdom.

At 25, Naslen Called Superstar, Films Earn Rs 100 Crore

One of the most notable points is that, Naslen has managed to score not one but two films in the Rs 100 crore club. All this, at the age of 25, a feat rarely achieved by young actors.

In 2024, he shot to fame with Premalu a romantic comedy film directed by Girish A D and produced by Bhavana Studios, Fahadh Faasil and Friends, and Working Class Hero. The film which also featured Mamitha Baiju, alongside Sangeeth Prathap, Akhila Bhargavan, Shyam Mohan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Mathew Thomas and Althaf Salim hit the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. It went on to become the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time and the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024. In 2025, he won acclaim for his role in Alappuzha Gymkhana. Although the film didn't hit the Rs 100 crore mark, the Khalid Rahman, directorial earned Rs 65 crore. The film also starred Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S Poduval, Sandeep Pradeep, Franco Francis, Baby Jean and Shiva Hariharan.

Another film this year, Lokah, sees him play 'second' role to Kalyani Priyadarshan first female superhero of Malayalam cinema. The fact that he didn't mind being protected by the 'heroine', deserves appreciation. The film is expected to earn more than Rs 100 crore and it currently the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2025.

In a post shared by Naslen, where he is seen posing with Lokah producer Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas, has gone viral. Dulquer Salmaan has commented on the picture with the message "Edaaaa!!! Superstar".

Naslen will soon be seen Asif Ali's Tiki Taka.

 

Will Kingdom in Sri Lanka get Good response ? Sree Leela with Ajith/ Thalapathy in Malaysia

 Kingdom Tamil version will release in 20 theatres in Sri Lanka . Usually Tamil films featuring top Stars are imported to screen in the island. This is the second time  that a Telugu film dubbed in Tamil is getting released. Kushi - A romantic drama featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha was released in SL. Box office wise Kingdom  has not done well in Tamil Nadu, a criteria that makes  films  get Sri Lankan screens . The Tamil version of Kingdom had invited protests from Tamil nationalist group NTK and chief coordinator Seeman. Though the Producers issued an apology and a clarification about showing Lankan Tamils as villains, the Distributor moved the court and got an order to the State police to give protection too theatres.

The film’s reception in Sri Lankan will show whether the sentiments raised by NTK is shared by Sri  Lankan Tamils. The country has a significant Tamil-speaking population, particularly in the Northern and Eastern provinces. As a result, Tamil films are screened in cinemas, and there is a strong interest in Tamil cinema among the local audience. Additionally, many Tamil films are available on various streaming platforms, making them accessible to viewers across the country.

As of now, some popular Tamil movies that are often screened in Sri Lanka include:

1.     Jailer - A high-octane action film featuring Rajinikanth.

2.     Leo - A much-anticipated film starring Vijay, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

3.     Kushi - A romantic drama featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha.

4.     Dunki - Though primarily a Hindi film, it has significant Tamil content and is popular among Tamil audiences.

5.     Vaathi - A drama focusing on the education system, featuring Dhanush.

Sree Leela next in Tamil is the film with Ajith and directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The shoot was scheduled for December- January but we hear that it might be advanced to October- November and schedule to finish by February 2026 as Ajith moves to his car racing season . Sree Leela debut is the Sivakarthikeyan film directed by Sudha Kongara.

Tamil media circles report that the grand audio launch of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is being planned in Malaysia on December 27th. This action drama is all set to be released for Pongal 2026. Jana Nayagan comes from director H. Vinoth and features music by Anirudh Ravichander. The cast includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Priyamani, among others. This is Bobby Deol’s second Tamil movie after he made his debut in Kanguva, where he took on the role of the main villain against Suriya.

Now Coolie censor rating abroad for same print is made available to children above 15. Overseas, the film has received a PG15 rating in the UAE and a 15 rating in the UK. Coolie will be released in several international territories including North America, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom. Ahead of the film's release, an overseas review, talking about Rajinikanth's new avatar, went viral on social media. "Uncut. Unstoppable. Unleashed. #Coolie is officially BBFC certified 15 in the UK - with ZERO cuts. Experience #SuperstarRajinikanth in his rawest, boldest form - just the way it's meant to be! The big screen is about to explode! #CoolieStorm (sic)," the tweet read. The overseas review tweet claimed that Rajinikanth will be seen in his 'rawest and boldest form' in the movie.

But now, Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie’s real plot has been revealed. Reportedly, the film deals with organ smuggling and trafficking, which is run by Nagarjuna, and Soubin is his right-hand man.

Shruti Haasan will play a key role in the film, as she finds out the truth about Nagarjuna and his gang, and then meets Rajinikanth, who saves Shruti and fights against organ trafficking

War 2 Completes Censor Formalities: 3 Hours 3 Minutes Runtime

The Censor Board gave the film a U/A rating, and with the runtime of nearly 183 minutes, the movie ends up being 3 hours and 3 minutes long.

Vijay Devarakonda Kingdom release on OTT is facing issues technically an d also the agitation from Tamil Nationalist NTK. Some viewers, including members of Tamil nationalist groups like Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), alleged that the movie shows Sri Lankan Tamils in a bad light. They claimed the film portrayed Tamil characters as villains, which they found offensive and disrespectful to Tamil identity and history. Following the protests, the producers have now come forward to clear the air. In their official note, Sithara Entertainments said, “We want to assure everyone that we respect the sentiments of the Tamil people. There are no scenes in the film that were made to insult or hurt anyone.”

They also reminded audiences that ‘Kingdom’ is a completely made-up story. “It is a fictional tale. This has been clearly stated in the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie,” the producers added.

However, acknowledging the concerns raised by some groups, the makers expressed regret. “If the sentiments of any people have been hurt, we sincerely apologise. We kindly request you to support the movie,” the statement read.

Most of the people who have watched the film felt that the movie had a very good story, as it deals with strong emotions, but a lot of scenes that connect to the main story have been removed, as the team goes for a shorter runtime for theaters, which has heavily backfired.

So if the makers release the extended version on OTT, then there is a chance of people connecting with the film. If that happens, the response from the viewers can change the film’s impact, which will prompt the makers to go ahead with Part 2.

Sri Lankan Tamil and Kingdom / Karthi with Thudarum Director

 Ub KINGDOM main villains are Jaffna Tamils. It was in 90s . There is no reference to LTTE or Sinhalese army or civil war .

As I mentioned in my inside sources. It is purely a story of a telugu exploited by Jaffna Cartel consisting of Tamilains and Srilankan Sinhalese army and Corrupt Indian agents as well. Infact I am really confused on why Indian agency wants This cartel destroyed.

And one more thing I would say treat movie as movie.

In Jailer a telugu hero was portrayed for comedy purpose and in Theeran north Indians are portrayed as criminals .

Overall

Definetly not a bad movie!!!! First half is very good . Second half drama falters big time both in writing and visually

Basic 101 of drama writing is mission of hero cannot meander or fail after investing so much on screen.

Movie is backed by excellent performances of Vijay Devarakonda and Satyadev.

Anirudh though did good job is not required for this genre both in terms of fee and his style except Ragile song every thing is adequate.

Good to Decent but not grand blockbuster that everyone expected.

Latest buzz in Kollywood circles, Karthi is set to join forces with Malayalam director Tharun Moorthy. For the unversed, Tharun Moorthy is the filmmaker behind Thudarum, the all-time highest-grossing film in Kerala, headlined by Mohanlal.

Tharun’s previous films, Saudi Vellakka and Operation Java, were also critically acclaimed. If this collaboration materializes, movie buffs are surely in for a treat. The project is expected to be bankrolled by Lark Studios, the production house behind Garudan and Maaman.

 Navin Nooli, arguably the best editor in Tollywood—and currently among the top in the country—gave sharp trailer cut visuals to Anirudh for scoring and mixing. And this was handed over either last night or early this morning. That itself is shocking.

This trailer launch was announced days ago. A huge event was planned, with Anirudh expected to travel from Chennai to Tirupati—by road or air. All they needed from him was to finish the BGM, send it for final mixing, and attend the event.

But  the final trailer mixing didn’t come from Anirudh’s end.

Now to be fair—he’s been juggling two major releases within a 15-day gap. And naturally, he seems to be prioritizing "Coolie", as he should. Also, Gowtam Tinnanuri, being a perfectionist, was fine-tuning visuals till the last minute. That too delayed Ani’s timeline.

Result? For the first time ever, a trailer launch event happened with raw, unscored visuals—no BGM done. Just rough edits. Disgusting.

With only 5 days left for release, the team was already behind schedule. But to add to that, this kind of mismanagement .

It reflects poorly on everyone:

• Producer Nagavamsi, who often boasts of understanding how to work with Anirudh.
• Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who made a national award-winning film like Jersey.
• Even Anirudh, for continuing the habit of last-minute deliveries, risking reputations.

Lokesh has said that Coolie is not about Time travel and the trailor on August 2 will clear all doubts. He said that the plot does deal with luxurious watches and watch factories but the story going around that Rajini gets a watch that takes him on a time travel is fake. Coolie has nothing to do with LC.U “Right after Coolie’s Release, I’ll resume the work on LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe) Origin. It’ll have all the connections for Kaithi and Vikram. It’s a 10-minute short film, but it has Anirudh’s music and Anbariv Masters’ work as well.”,  said Lokesh.

The film is backed by the acclaimed director duo Raj and DK. Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., collectively known as Raj & DK, are an Indian filmmaker duo. They are best known for their work as creators, directors, writers, and producers of the Hindi-language thriller series The Family Man (2019–present), Farzi (2023–present), and Guns & Gulaabs (2023). Raj is BF of Samantha.

 According to the latest reports, Netflix has acquired Kingdom’s post-theatrical streaming rights for a whopping Rs. 50 crores. The deal reportedly includes rights for all languages. The makers are betting big on this Vijay Deverakonda starrer and have spent lavishly on the film without any compromises.

It is said that the producers have recovered a major portion of their investment through digital and other non-theatrical deals. Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, the movie stars Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev in key roles. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are producing the film, with music composed by Anirudh.

 Vijay Devarakonda Kingdom is ready for a Pan India release and that includes Hindi. The second song promo is getting trolled for Anirudh’s singing. Apart from this the film’s Producer Nag Vamsi feels that he has to fight so much of negativity that is spread about the film. Releasing on July 31 the film is about a man rebellion in an island with Bhagyasree Borse for company. Jersey fame Gowtam is directing the film.

Last week, there were reports that Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom, which is coming to screens on July 31, will skip theatrical release for its Hindi version due to the OTT theatrical window and other issues. However the film’s producer revealed in a recent interview that the Hindi version is getting theatrical release. “Kingdom is releasing in Hindi. We didn't add it to the poster just because we've a title issue. It'll be released on the same day with a different title like Samraj or something,” said Naga Vamsi.

The trailer of the film 'Mareesan', starring popular Tamil actors Vadivelu and Bhagat Faasil, has been released. The trailer has been viewed by more than one million viewers within a short period of its release, setting a record.

 In an announcement that could get all the Prabhu Dheva-Vadivelu combo fans excited, The untitled project is written and directed by Sam Rodrigues, who previously helmed Prabhu Dheva's Musasi. The film, produced by Kannan Ravi, has music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Vignesh Vasu, editor Anthony, and stunt choreographer Peter Hein in the technical team.

The two actors have previously collaborated in Kaadhalan (1994), Love Birds (1995), Mr Romeo (1996), Kaathala Kaathala (1998), Manadhai Thirudivittai (2001), and Engal Anna (2004). Vadivelu has also featured in Prabhu Dheva's directorials Pokkiri (2007) and Villu (2009).

 Vijay Devarakonda is seen refusing to hold the extended hand of Dilquer Salmaan at the pre- release function of Lucky Bhaskar. The video that surfaced and netizens are slamming Vijay for this arrogance. Lucky Bhaskar is now streaming on OTT.  Pinkvilla reports - Directed by Venky Atluri, Lucky Baskhar turned out to be a big success at the box office. This critically praised crime thriller earned over Rs 107 crore globally within a span of more than 25 days in theaters, with 75% of its revenue coming from the domestic market alone.

Lucky Baskhar performed best in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it grossed over Rs 36 crore in total. Kerala, the home state of Dq, emerged as the second-best performer for the movie. It contributed a sum of Rs 21.50 crore in its full run. The movie saw tremendous growth in Tamil Nadu and has fetched around Rs 15.75 crore till now. In addition, Karnataka contributed around Rs 6.25 crore, while it managed to clock around Rs 1.25 crore from the rest of India.  It raked in over USD 3.05 million (Rs 26 crore) from the international markets, which is so far a good box office figure. 

As per reports in Filmibeat and Pinkvilla, Dulquer Salmaan generally charges Rs 8 crore for his films. However, the report mentions that he charged Rs 10 crore for Lucky Bhaskar. 

Kuvera releasing on February next year is said to have crossed the Rs 150 crores in career of Dhanush. Alphonse Puthran next in Tamil

Alphonse Puthran, the director of the highly successful Malayalam film "Premam," is set to make his debut in Kollywood.
