Kirthi Shetty's upcoming film in Tamil is LIK starring Oradeep Ranganathan and directed by Vignesh Shivn.The makers of LIK have now officially announced that the film will hit the big screens on December 18, 2025.Now Kirthi has now signed a Hindi film; ccording to the latest reports, Krithi Shetty will be making her Bollywood debut in a film produced by Zee Studios. She will be sharing the screen with Govinda’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja, who is also making his acting debut. The film is set to be a launchpad for both young actors. The cast also includes Nitanshi Goel, known for her recent work, who will be playing one of the female leads in the movie. This exciting cast is sure to create a lot of buzz. Sun TV No to Good Bad Ugly / MAD MAX Stunt Choreographer for Ravanan

 Sun TV has rejected Good Bad Ugly satellite rights as they fear that they will  their fingers post Vidamuyarchi. Both are Ajith starrer. "Vidaamuyarchi," which premiered on Sun TV as a Tamil New Year special, achieved a TRP (Television Rating Point) of 6.86 in U+R (Urban and Rural) markets. This indicates a decent viewership for the movie on its television debut. The movie also garnered 5.5 million impressions. On a normal Sunday this could be fantastic but the Ajith film was a   world television premiere on Sunday, April 14, at 6:30 PM, marking a grand celebration for Tamil New Year. Trade circles say that the TRP does not match up to the money that the spots were sold. Incidentally, Singam 2 of Suriya on a normal Sunday a few weeks later in May first week got a TRP of 8.6.

Now Good Bad Ugly did better at the box office but Sun is finding it difficult to sell the spots at high price to make a profit. A new negotiation is likely.

Once the film releases on OTT, the TV viewership is crashing. One reason is that DTH providers are offering OTT bouquets for a song. Like home video went out after TV started streaming films. OTT is taking the life out of TV satellite rights. OTT’s are now  shirking away from offering a package that includes TV rights. Sun TV has Sun Nxt the OTT app but the latter is not as popular as four major players and in turn cannot offer big prices. Aamir Khan has decided that his upcoming film will stream first on TV and later on OTT.

Norris is currently in India choreographing elaborate, high-octane action sequences tailored for the scale of Ramayana, with Yash’s character at the center of the storm. He is slated to shoot for 60–70 days for Ramayana Part 1.

Mohanlal First Hindi film as hero / Yash no fees only SHARE for Ramayana

 Mohanlal will be acting for the first time in a multigoal film and that is Drishyam 3. The first two parts were in Malayalam and then remade in other languages including Hindi. Now the third part will comes in Malayalam – Telugu- Tamil- Hindi languages. Director Jeethu Joseph has scripted a subject that appeals to various regions – in short a Pan Indian film.

We hear that Ajay devgn who did the two parts in Hindi will be coming out with his own third version. "Buoyed by the past two editions’ success, Jeethu, Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor are keen to make the third outing a pan-India offering. This can become an issue for Ajay’s movie, as his Drishyam 3’s script is still being worked upon. One of the reasons why Ajay’s Drishyam has been successful so far is because the Malayalam original didn’t tap into the Hindi-speaking audience. But if Mohanlal’s movie releases much earlier than Ajay’s, that too in Hindi, it can be disadvantageous to the latter since they both always share story and plot points," a source told the tabloid.

The report further suggests that Ajay's Hindi version of Drishyam 3 may roll in October this year. It's because the actor has to reportedly wrap up Dhamaal 4 and Ranger before that. On the other hand, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak is apparently in talks with the original version's makers to know if both versions can have a 'simultaneous' release.

The heart of the Drishyam franchise has always been its suspense. Yet, despite arriving two years after the originals, the Hindi adaptations pulled in big crowds. Ajay Devgn’s versions of Drishyam (2015) and Drishyam 2 (2022) were box office gold, even though the audience was already familiar with the plot.

Yash refused an offer of 200 crore to play the antagonist in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana. The superstar was being paid a sum of 150 crore for the trilogy, and he was offered an additional 50 crore distribution share for the film. But after the offer, there were lots of ups and downs with Ramayana, with Yash walking out as Ravana and walking in as the producer and then taking up the role free of cost, agreeing to take the producer share in the film!

Mohanlal Directorial debut film Barroz is based on a book Maya written by a German- Malayalee writer Thundiparambil is the claim in a legal notice send by the author. George Thundiparambil travels between India and Germany since 1997. He has written a historical novel Maya in English, published in India in 2008 and has also written many articles on religion for online platforms. Barroz is said to be based on a book written by Jijo Punnose, Director of My Dear Kuttichthan the first 3D film of India. Jijo’s book said to have published in 2017 also deals with the myth of Muthapan Kappiri. This Muthappan Kappiri has now become a deity in Fort Kochi. There are around 20 Kappiri wals in Mattanchery of Fort Kochi where offerings are made. Kappiri is a local name for African slaves that came with the Portugese. While fleeing the Dutch, the Portguese killed the Kappiris and along with them buried gold. Portugese believed that the souls of Kappiri would protect the Gold. Now George novel has a girl Maya who can see Kappiri and communicate with him and in turn becomes the guardian of the buried treasure. A similar plot is the story of Barroz, claims George. He says that his book was given to Director T K Rajeev Kumar and latter said that he would he would give it to Jijo. The film has been in the making since 2021. Jijo who has written the book had copyrighted it in 2017. Due to several changes in script and actors, Jijo opted out of Direction and screenplay writing. Mohanlal turned Director and T K Rajeev Kumar as Assistant. Plans were to release trailor in Abhu Dhabi and theatrical release on September 12.

However, rumors are circulating that his next project may be directed by Geethu Mohandas, a National Award-winning director. According to sources close to the project, Yash and Geethu Mohandas have been discussing a possible collaboration for the past year, and Yash was impressed with the concept that she presented to him. Despite expectations that Yash would collaborate with big names in Indian cinema, he has chosen to work on a project with a respected figure from Malayalam cinema, which is expected to have a powerful script. Geethu Mohandas is known for her work in films such as Liar's Dice and The Elder One. Liar's Dice won six major international awards and two National Awards in India, and was India's official submission for the Best Foreign Film category at the 87th Academy Awards. Dulquer next Telugu film with Vaathi director Venky Atluri will direct Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming Telugu movie, which will be produced by Sitara Entertainments. The director previously had a hit bilingual film, Sir, with Dhanush. Following the success of SitaRamam in Tollywood, Dulquer has gained a good fan base in Andhra and Telangana. Currently, he is completing his work on King of Kotha, a bilingual film, and his production house has released Adi, a Malayalam film featuring Shine and Ahana in the lead roles. ---

Fahadh Dhoomam is revival of Pawan's shelved project Pawan Kumar is known for directing critically acclaimed Kannada films like "Lucia" and "U Turn", and had been in talks with actors such as Ganesh, Dhananjay, and Rakshit Shetty for an ambitious project called "C10H14N2" (the chemical formula for nicotine) for several years. However, this project did not materialize. It is now reported that "Dhoomam" is a revival of that same project, with Fahadh Faasil playing the lead role and Roshan Mathew and Aparna Balamurali in pivotal roles. The film was initially rumored to be aiming for a summer release this year. The film's first look poster is set to be unveiled on April 17 at 10:45 am, as per the makers' announcement on Sunday. The film is being produced by Hombale Films, the production company behind the successful KGF franchise and the recently-released Kannada film "Kantara".

Actor Parthiban had a conversation with Mani Ratnam and made a request for the re-release of "Ponniyin Selvan" part 1, so that audiences can refresh their memories before the release of "Ponniyin Selvan 2" on April 28. The cast of "War 2" already boasts Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, and the popular Telugu actor Jr NTR has been added to the star-studded lineup. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of "Tiger 3", which has generated excitement for its action scenes and Salman Khan's reprisal of the iconic character. The news of the story's continuation in "War 2" has intensified the anticipation among fans, particularly with Shah Rukh Khan's extended cameo in "Tiger 3". The inclusion of Jr NTR in the spy universe has only added to the hype.

During a recent Twitter Q&A session hosted by Producer Dil Raju who is producing Game Changer with Ram Charan and directed by Shankar under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, two questions generated the most attention. One fan inquired about the possibility of the production house working with Yash, following the huge success of the KGF franchise. The official Twitter handle responded positively, hinting at a collaboration for Yash's upcoming release, "Yash 19." However, another fan's question regarding a potential collaboration between the production house and Superstar Rajinikanth caused even more excitement. The production house confirmed that both stars will be appearing in their upcoming films, although reports indicate that these are two separate projects and not a single joint venture.

Bahubaali 2 still ahead of KGF 2 and RRR in terms of footfalls

Bahubaali 2 is still ahead of KGF 2 and RRR in terms of viewership or otherwise known as footfalls in theaters, says a trade analyst . Though the box office figures are quoted to show that KGF 2 outstripped BB2 , truth lies somewhere in between.

As we have to take into consideration the entrance ticket price hike after BB2 released in April 2017,  the box office figures of KGF 2 and RRR cannot be a barometer for a comparison. As per a study done BB2 footfall was 5.1 crore and at the time of writing , the KGF 2 was 1.75 crore and RRR was  1.6 crore.

To set record straight, all those who claim that KGF and RRR have even beaten Top Hindi films . Here is a numbers - Bajraang Baijaan - 3.2 crores and Dangal -  3.1 crores footfalls. In short, KGF 2 and RRR claim that their film was seen by more people than the two Hindi films and BB 2 is a lopsided way of looking at it. BB2 completed the total run with a Rs 510 crore nett. As on date , RRR nett World wide is Rs 600.14 crore. KGF 2 is still running.

US markets have not favoured KGF 2 like it did for RRR.  KGF 2 took a $ 4.15 million first week and slumped to $93K . RRR on the other hand did not open as big as KGF 2 but second week and third week collections was five time more than KGF. BB2 gross in USA was $12.5 million. Here again one reason given is that premiere shows were less for RRR and KGF 2 but with the cost of ticket  high , patronage post Covid in the US market was restricted and audience choosy.  KGF 2 slump is said to be because the film is a Kannada film dubbed into Tamil and Telugu languages and so the Tamilans and Andhra / TS origin people patronage was less than that to RRR . For footfalls for BB2 being higher than RRR in USA, reason is that BB2 was a sequel and over time and streaming of Part 1 on TV, audience grew manifold. So is KGF 2 a sequel, but why this did not happen ?. Answer is that  KGF  did not pose an interesting question - Why did Kattappa kill Baahubaali ?

Meanwhile , Chiranjeevi- Ram Charan Acharya bookings for USA premiere opened and in 623 shows pre sales was $ 287,778 . Not a bad start feels trade. CM Jagan has allowed theaters to up ticket rates in opening week in Andhra and also a 5th show can be screened.

When Prithviraj picked Rockybhai from airport as unit forgot him

 

Yash alias RockyBhai of KGF who came to shoot for a music video Spirit of Chennai was stranded at the airport as the film unit that was filming the video did not even known that there was an actor called Yash coming from Bangalore for the shoot. For the same shoot, Prithviraj had arrived at the airport . He came to know through the escort that took him the car about a Kannada actor Yash was waiting in the airport as logistic team of the shoot has not arranged for one. Prithviraj immediately asked the driver to go back to the airport and walked up to Yash and asked him to accompany him. Yash told him that a car was on the way but Prithviraj insisted and took him along to the hotel.

This happened in 2016 and producer of the music video was Actor `Chiyaan ' Vikram. It was about the Chennai floods 2015 and the unity of the citizens in tackling it. Many actors starting from Abhishek Bachchan -Suriya - Nivin Pauly took part.  Yash had just started work on KGF 1.

As Kannada film KGF is able to created a Pan Indian  film on a Rs 100 crore budget, the second or almost same ranked regional language film industry is Malayalam , in terms of box office returns. In many discussions as whether there is a director who has a mettle to created a KGF like mammoth film from Kerala, the first name that comes is Prithviraj.

Though Kerala film industry had has Rs 100 cr club films like Puli Murugan - Lucifer - Premam, Kurup , Kayamkulam Kochunni and Drishyam, none of them had a pan Indian appeal. Film industry watchers say that Malayalam film industry has many writers whose works can be a subject for Pan Indian appeal.

Prithviraj as a producer- distributor is by now a known name in Bollywood film circuit, He was sharing stage with Karan Johar at the KGF  2 function in Mumbai. Prithviraj is the distributor of KGF 2 in Kerala. In an interview, the actor  said that Pan Indian films do nt happen in Kerala, as after the completion, the discussion to dub it in other languages come. Nobody shoots with a Pan Indian audience and mainly for hte film to get noticed in Hindi heartland, one needs people like Karan Johar and similar big names to take it across widely.

KGF 2 beats Beast on advance booking except Tamil Nadu

Exhibitors in Tamil Nadu are happy with the advance booking of Beast but in Kerala- Karnataka and AP/ TS , KGF shows a marked difference. As expected, KGF 2 is creating a storm at Hindi advance booking counters that opened on April 7th. 80 % of the occupancy in Tamil Nadu is booked as per reports from exhibitors of Beast in Tamil Nadu. This on expected lines and close to 800 theaters are screening the film and around 250- 300 are screening KGF 2. Big screens in multiplexes in TN are for Beast. KGF 2 getting 200 - 300 screens for a start is good enough for S R Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures , distributor of KGF 2. Dream Warrior had distributed Karthi's Kaithi opposite Bigil with limited screens and made money as the film got postive reviews continued to hold against Bigil. The box office of Kerala shows a trend of KGF 2 being scheduled for fan shows starting from 4 AM on April 14th. By going with the advance booking numbers, trade says that KGF 2 on opening day will cross the entire collection of KGF 1 done in it's entire run. Beast as expected for a Vijay film is doing the business it expected. In Karnataka, almost 90 % of the screens are with KGF 2 as the Telugu- Hindi- Tamil prints with the original Kannada version will be playing in biggest box office area of Bengaluru. Beast opening is considerably dimmed.In AP/ TS, too the advance booking for KGF 2 is bigger than Beast. Beast team director Nelson - music director Anirudh and Pooja Hegde took part in a press meet to promote the film. In Bollywood, the trade is watching whether KGF 2 will beat RRR opening. By the rate the booking is moving, KGF might not reach RRR opening . The opening might be anything around Rs 15 crores. Beast in comparison might get a opening of Rs 3 crores, Sadly nobody is talking of Shahid Kapoor Jersey, a straight Hindi film , remake of Telugu film with Pushpa hero Allu Arjun's father as co- producer.
