However, in the Tamil trailer, the release date is mentioned as 10th January, as the team wants to avoid a clash with Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan on opening day itself, which is also scheduled to be released on 9th January. Adhik to Direct Balakrishna ? Nayanthara cuts fee for Chiru/ Tourist Family World Record/ Dude Title clash

According to the buzz, Adhik Ravichandran recently met with Tollywood actor Balakrishna and narrated a mass commercial entertainer story. Balakrishna reportedly gave the green signal after hearing the story, and the project is likely to proceed reports M9.

We hear that Vidamuyurchi Director Magizh Thirumeni is in all probability to do Ajith’s next film. Balakrishna is known for his mass masala entertainers, and Adhik Ravichandran is considered a similar type of director. Therefore, if the project happens, it would be a treat for Balakrishna’s fans.

Further Balakrishna and Prabhu are close friends. Adhik is son in law of Prabhu.

Nayanthara has come on board for Chiranjeevi- Ravipudi film but not at the salary of Rs 16 crores as demanded by her or as media reports. DUDE is set for a wide release across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi markets on October 17. However, controversy has emerged around the film’s title.

Telugu actor-director Tej, who has been promoting his own film titled Dude for over a year, expressed shock and disappointment over Mythri’s use of the same name. Tej clarified that he has no intention of clashing with a big banner like Mythri. He has already brought the issue to their attention and is hoping for a positive resolution. Tourist Family is first South Indian film to enter Letterboxd. Diehard cinephiles might already know about the popular entertainment website Letterboxd. It’s an Auckland-based film-focused social platform for diehard movie buffs. The international platform is renowned for its movie-centric global lists, such as ‘Top 50 Movies’ lists and the ‘One Million’ and ‘Two Million’ watched lists, amongst others. Nayanthara and Trisha’s old interviews about the friendship that they do not share is doing the rounds. The background to the both actress rift is that both were shortlisted for the heroine role in Thalapathy's Kuruvi. It went to Trisha. Nayanthara admits that they had misunderstandings and that they are not friends but mere acquaintances. Nayan says that the word Friend has a big meaning. However she says that she has no issues with Trisha or anyone else. She recollects that during Billa, Namitha would walk in to the sets and wish everyone but her. She said that she did not want to pretend that they are pals.

Trisha however denied that she had any argument with Nayanthara and felt common friends blew it up. She said that it was not a professional rivalry but a misunderstanding created by mutual friends. Trisha was the first choice for Samantha's role in Vignesh S directorial 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal' with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. It was Nayanthara’s production. Trisha backed out and she said that she had a good reason to do so. At that time Ponniyin Selvam had not released and post that Trisha bounced back as South Queen.

 

Nayanthara - Sundar clash averted / Dual role for Allu Arjun in Atlee film/ Crumbling Kerala Box Office

Nayanthara highhandedness with an AD of Director Sundar C on the sets of Mookuthi Amman 2 led to stopping of the shooting. The dispute arose after the Actress who plays the title role and AD had an argument over a costume that the actress refused to wear . A different costume was her choice and that of her personal costumer. As the Directorial unit felt that the argument went overboard, they raised the matter with Sundar. He called for a packup. Tempers flew and things reached a flash that it was either the Director or the Actress who be in the film. It seems Producer Ishari Ganesh mediated and shooting started at a temple on outskirts of Chennai. Pollachi schedule was cancelled. Nayanthara and Sundar’s production companies are co- producers with Vels Ishari Ganesh.

On April 8th, the official announcement of Allu Arjun- Atlee film is expected. Sun Pictures is the Producer and like Theri, Mersal ( triple), Bigil,Jawan, Atlee has given a dual role to Allu Arjun. Anirudh is the composer. Shooting might be in August.

After Atlee moving to Tollywood with Allu Arjun, next in line is Lokesh with Ram Charan. It seems KVN Productions after Jananayagan with Vijay and Yash’s Toxic has signed a three film deal with Lokesh and one of them is a Ram Charan film. Whether Kaithi2 and a subject featuring Suriya as Rolex ae part of this we are not aware.

Empuran is turned out to be India’s No 1 box officer opener at Box office as per ticket booking platforms and on the other side last month – February 7 films released in the Kerala theatres. Out of these 17 films, 11 were huge disasters! The cumulative budget of these 17 films was 75.23 crore, and they together contributed 23.55 crore as Kerala’s theatre share. As per a report by Onmanorama, even in the month of January, only one film succeeded at the box office. “Rekhachithram‘ directed by Jofin T Chacko, was the only hit among the 28 movies released in January, as per the producers association. Tovino Thomas starrer Identity’, made on a budget of Rs 30 crore, managed to collect only Rs 3 crore from theatres in Kerala,” said the report.

Thalapthy is No 2 Pan Indian actor / LYCA still Empuran Producer / Blast Mohan - Prasanna in Ajith film

Ormax a leading agency list of top Pan Indian stars has raised many doubts as Prabhas is at no 1 and Thalapathy Vijay at No 2. Prabhas had no release in last one year and has no upcoming film coming in next six months. Vijay popularity is restricted to Tamil market and in the South, it is limited. What makes it jarring is that Allu Arjun comes third and the run of the film Pushpa 2 across India is much ahead of the above two actors. We can accept SRK at 4th and 5th as the former has not had any new releases and RC gave a Bomb called Game Changer. Next comes the shocker . Mahesh Babu is at 6th and Ajith Kumar at7th. So where is NTR Jr ? He is on 8th. Then we have two mega duds Akshay and Salman in last two. Out of this 10, five are from Tollywood and two from Kollywood and rest from Bollywood. So has KGF Yash lost his Pan India status ?. Looks like Toxic will have a tough road ahead.

Produced by Nani, Telugu courtroom drama Court: State VS A Nobody mounted on a restricted budget of 10 crore. Starring Priyadarshi Pulikonda, the film has managed to churn out a profit of 7.40 crore already. Nani‘s film has registered a profit of 74% at the box office already! It now needs to earn 2.6 crore more to claim a hit verdict for itself and become the second Tollywood hit film of 2025 after Venkatesh Daggubati’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Add to this Rs 8 crore from OTT deal. For Netflix, COURT marks its third consecutive success in Tollywood after Lucky Bhaskar and Daaku Maharaaj, both of which performed exceptionally well and even featured in Netflix’s global non-English Top 10 charts.

Mookuthi Amman 2 Pooja costs Rs 1 crore ? / Anna Ben in Yakshi Hindi film

In recent times , film poojas are rarely conducted spending huge amounts. Reminding of glorious old times of Kollywood , Mookuthi Amman 2 invite cost Rs 6000 per piece. 20 lady social media influencers were given a diamond mookuthi ( nose ring). Opening day set designed for film promo alone cost Rs 1 crore. After discarding her Lady Superstar tag, Nayanthara, who rarely attends the pooja ceremony of her films, has made an exception by gracing the launch of her upcoming movie Mookuthi Amman 2. Her banner Rowdy Pictures is co- producer along with C Sundar- Kushboo Avni Cinemax. Directed by Sundar C, the film is a sequel to Nayanthara and RJ Balaji's Mookuthi Amman which released in 2020.

Before she walked on stage, Nayanthara got a roaring welcome at the venue enterance. She then went on to greet other noted celebrities at the event. Dressed in a bright red saree, Nayanthara showed her devotional side, by folding her hands in front of the Amman deity in front of her for the first shot. Talking at the event, producer Ishari Ganesh spoke about Nayanthara's preparation for the role. He said "Mookuthi Amman is a divine role. So, she went on fasting for a month. Her children have been fasting for the last week" he said.

Anna Ben, celebrated for her roles in Kumbalangi Nights, Helen, Kottukali, Kalki ,took to social media to announce the exciting project, Yakshi in Hindi . Written and directed by Karan Sunil, known for his work on the series Code-Switched, Yakshi is an Indo-American co-production backed by Lambe Log Productions and Full Spectrum Features. Babil Khan, son of the late Irrfan Khan, is playing the lead. The details of the plot for Yakshi remain undisclosed.

Ajith- Vijay sethupathi- Vignesh project ON / Why Atlee - Salman film on hold ?

Is Vijay Sethupathi finally going to act in a Ajith film ?. From what we hear it is going to be true as the Vignesh Shivan project that was shelved will be revived soon and whether it will be next or in the pipeline we are not sure but it has got life. One reason that Ajith rejected the film was that it was a bit underwhelming and apart from that the film was certain to clash with Vijay’s film. Since then Wikki has reworked on it and present script is in tune with Ajith kind of film. Lyca could be backing this as it would sort of compensate the Vidamuyurchi loss. Billa, Viswasam, Aarambam with Nayanthara have been hits and quite likely it could come back again. Sethupathi was part of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan directed by Vignesh and later in own production Rowdy Pictures Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal . Vijay Sethupathi is set to act in a Web Series to be made by Jio Hotstar titled, Muthu Engira Kattan. This Web Series is said to be a rural action drama also featuring Bollywood Actor, Jackie Shroff in a prominent role. Earlier, Director Manikandan came on board for the Series and also shot a few episodes but it is now learned that he has opted out. Vrusshabha made on a mega budget, starring lalettan Mohanlal, has officially wrapped filming. The final schedule, which took place in Mumbai, marked the completion of this ambitious project, and the cast and crew commemorated the occasion with a grand cake-cutting ceremony. With production now complete, the film enters post-production, with industry leading visual effects, editing, and sound Written and Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nanda Kishore and presented by Connekkt Media and Balaji Telefilms . The film has been made on a mega budget to ensure that Vrusshabha pushes the boundary on cinematic excellence. Scheduled for a grand Diwali 2025 release, Vrusshabha will hit screens in five languages—Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.

STR on his birthday announced that his 50th film will be produced by him and directed by Desiangh as director and Manoj Paramhamsa as cameraman. STR's 50th film, which was supposed to be undertaken by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International Films, will now be bankrolled by Atman Cine Arts. STR's 49th film was announced at midnight today. Bankrolled by Dawn Pictures, STR 49 will be helmed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan of 'Parking' fame. He also has a film with Ashwath Marimuthu in his pipeline, bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.

After acting in films like “Mahanati,” “Sita Ramam,” and “Lucky Bhaskar,” Dulquer Salmaan has become quite sought-after in Telugu, and the pan-Indian Malayalam star is continuing to sign Telugu films that have unique scripts. “Aakasam Lo Oka Tara,” starring Dulquer Salmaan, commenced production with a pooja ceremony. The film’s pooja ceremony was held on Sunday in Hyderabad, which saw the attendance of the lead star, director Pavan Sadineni, and producers Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam. “Aakasam Lo Oka Tara” is presented by Allu Aravind and Ashwini Dutt, and they also attended the ceremony. Heroine Satvika Veeravalli, an Indian-origin techie based out of the USA is making her debut with the film.

Dhanush wins First Round of copyright case / Priyadarshan- Yesudas FaceOff - REAL TRUTH ?

Netflix case against Dhanush Wunderbar Films in the copyright case has been dismissed. The wedding documentary on Nayanthara that was streamed on the OTT platform was found to be violation of copyright as it contained clips from the film Nannum Rowdy Thaan produced by Dhanush. Dhanush had asked for Rs 10 crore for the clips running into seconds. Dhanush lawyer argued that the documentary had used a BTS video while filming the feature film and that itself was a copyright violation and the dres worn by Nayanthara in the clips used for documentary was property of the production company. Madras High Court after dismissing case has posted main case by Dhanush on February 5.

National award winner M G Sreekumar has finally given an official version of the infamous fight between Priyadarshan and K J Jesudas. Official version as MG is in inner circle of the Priyan – Mohanlal group. The version given by MG differs from the one that is circulated around. The version is that Priyan landed at the Tharangini recording theatre ( owned by Yesudas) where Reghu Kumar the music director was explaining a song to K J Jesudas. The film was Boeing Boeing and Priyan was the Director. Yesudas was in the singer’s cabin and Priyan and friends was in recording console room with music director. As a rehearsal was going on a few improvisations came across the mike to Yesudas headphones and voice was of not Reghu’s. Who is this “ asked Yesudas. Priyan came the answer, What business does he have here ? comes counter. I am the Director says Priyan. I don’t tolerate interference from Director and only music Director can connect with me replies Yesudas. Among the friends was M G Sreekumar !. Yesudas walks off, Filmdom in shock as without Yesudas song no audio rights were sold. . After that Priyan decided to do all male songs sung for Mohanlal with MG. Years later Jesudas son Vijay who started his career had met Priyan and told him not to keep his Papa’s behaviour and give him songs. In Priyadarshan’s Hindi films , Vijay Yesudas has sung.
