The Kerala division of the Congress party is enthusiastically celebrating the victory of their party member , Akhil Marar, in the Bigg Boss 5 Malayalam competition. Ramesh Chennithala, the former Home Minister and a five-time MLA, was the first to share an old photograph of himself presenting a book he had written to Marar. Chennithala praised Marar as an individual with a broad perspective on national issues. Following suit, Kodukunil Suresh MP also shared an old photo of himself with Marar, extending his congratulations. There are ongoing debates regarding whether the character played by Vadivelu in the film is based on former State Assembly Speaker Dhanapal. Notably, during Dhanapal's daughter's wedding, ministers and MLAs attended but refrained from eating at the venue. Dhanapal brought this matter to the attention of the then Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, who assured him that she would ensure all MLAs and ministers stood up in respect when he entered the room. Consequently, Dhanapal was appointed as Speaker.

Varun Dhawan will act in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Their which was directed by Atlee and featured Vijay. Atlee is co-producing this film and director Kalees who directed the Tamil film Kee will be helming it. There is being remade in Telugu as Ustad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan.
