If Manju Warrier was reachable to Director Prem, would we have got our Janu of 96 ? Even Manju thinks that she could not think of anyone else but Trisha in the role of Janu in the iconic 96. It was a recall by Manju at Footage film promo . She said that Prem Kumar and his team tried to contact her for Janu role and they could not and also they were facing date issues and finally decided to go in for Trisha as Janu. When she was cast for Viduthalai, Prem Kumar had messaged her about the lost effort to get her on board.

In fact Janu and her yellow churidhar became a rage and It was a hit during Diwali. Sudha Kongara is co- producing her film with Sivakarthikeyan as hero under the banner of Meenakshi Cinemas and KVN Productions is other producer. KVN is producer of Dhruv Sarjja KD The Devil. AGS was to produce this film. The film subject was written with Suriya and as he did not agree with the content, it has changed the hero. Film is about a real life character who was in forefront of anti – Hindi agitation in 60’s.

The character we are told is that he plays an aide to Rajinikanth m who is a undercover agent of the Customs. He is set up as a new entrant who comes from abroad to play the Gold smuggling in Tamil Nadu and South India. He is said to have given up big time Gold smuggling on an International soil and decided to just indulge in small time smuggling to earn his retirement expenses. He gets on the wrong side of the Maffia. Added to this Customs gives him an aide who was an agent of the Mafia within Customs but is now turned a leaf by deciding to help Rajinikanth by posing as an expert in gold smuggling and if the operation wins, he would get a permanent job in Customs. Rajinikanth is confused as Ranveer hobnobs with smugglers and is seen mostly in the company of women. Is he two timing the Customs and Rajinikanth ?. Yet another problem is that Rajinikanth disclose his Customs identity as he would be exposed and has to operate only through Ranveer. It’s almost two months time left for them to witness the heroics of the original Indian superhero Hanu-Man created and crafted by Prasanth Varma with Teja Sajja playing the leadman. S J Suryah is making his Malayalam debut in Suresh Gopi film titled SG 251. Directed by Rahul Ramachandran, SG plays a retired watch mechanic and what happens to him on a fateful day is the plot. Suryah had come in praise for his performance in Jigarthanda X. Rajini who saw the film praised Suryah. SG Garudan collected Rs 12 crores in 10 days.

 Lokesh Kanagaraj after Vikram and Leo has become a celebrity. Thalapathy wishes Seeman - Rajini v/s Dhanush - Japan overseas no premieres

 

Though Lal Salaam is releasing for Pongal, there was a buzz that it would be postponed. So far there is no official announcement from producer of Lal Salaam. The producers of Captain Miller with Dhanush in the lead, has now announced that they are coming for Pongal.. If both films come for Pongal, then it will be Dhanush v/s ex wife Aishwarya and her father Rajinikanth. Aishwarya directs the film Lal Salaam and Rajinikanth does cameo. Sivakarthikeyan Ayalan is also coming. It is said that Red Giant who is releasing Lal Salaam was not keen to clash with Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan.

Karthi Japan releasing on Friday in Tamil Nadu is not having premieres in overseas . Today the announcement came that shows scheduled for premiers have been cancelled and money will be refunded. On inquiry, it was said that recent films which had overseas shows abroad and one day ahead of the shows in India got negative reviews and affected the domestic market. So now shows in domestic and abroad will be on same day. Like fo Leo, five shows for weekend have been allowed for Japan. But this time the extra shows can be shown past the weekend and till November 15^th. This permission has been granted to Jigarthanda and Raid too.

Raghava Lawrence and S J Suryah who are in Kochi for Jigarthanda x promotion called on Mammootty who is shooting for Turbo. The film’s Kerala distribution is with Dulquer Salmaan and it has Kerala actor Shine Tom and Nimisha Sajayan in it.

Leo slows down and will not cross Jailer - Rashmika in Girlfriend - S J Suryah in Nani film

Leo box office collections will not surpass Jailer in two Telugu States and Karnataka. First day it grossed Rs 15 cr and second day it fell to Rs 5 crore in two Telegu States. In Karnataka, it opened to Rs 13 crore and second day it is Rs 4 crore. In Kerala, number of shows has been reduced and Mammooty’s Kannur sqad that released one month back has increased the shows. Producer Lalit Kumar said that the weak business in North India due to multiplexes not screening them. Kumar said that after they sold the OTT rights the North Indian multiplexes decided that a 8 week window from release date and OTT streaming was needed for a film. In Tamil Nadu, collections are dropping. From Rs 27 crores it dropped to Rs 15 cr and third day it was Rs 13 cr. It just surpassed Rs 50 cr and in contrast Jailer in three days touched Rs 76 cr. The person most affected by Leo was Shiva Rajkumar. His film Ghost did not get enough theatres in Central Bangalore due to Leo and two Telugu films. Word of mouth is good and now shows have increased and moving to a hit status.

DVV Creations announced that S J Suryah has come on board for their film with Nani. Natural Star Nani and Talented Director Vivek Athreya who delivered a cult entertainer like Ante Sundaraniki are coming together once again for #Nani31. Actor Vijay Antony daughter Meera committed suicide as she was suffering from mental depression is the first information that comes out. Today early morning, she was found hanging from the fan I her room , The servants in the house found her hanging. It is not known whether Vijay Antony and his wife Fathima were at home. Fathima had posted a video long back of his daughter wearing the cultural secretary badge given by Christ Church Convent . An old video has surfaced in which Vijay says that his father had committed suicide and it created a big pain for the family aand saying that suicide is not the answer. He was talking about the death of a producer who committed suicide after being harassed by a film financier. As per sources the child was undergoing consultation with a Psychology in a leading private hospital. The reasons for depression is not known but school authorities reveal that she is a school topper and was preparing hard for the 12th board exams. Vijay Antony as a music composer hit headlines with Nakku Mukku song that was a rage nationally and globally and won the Cannes Lion award and was played at the Cricker Word cup 2011, He turned actor and producer and has a failrly good ration hits. Pichakaran 2 released this year is a big hit and his Kolai is streaming on OTT.

At Jailer success meet, Rajinikanth said that when he saw the film without rerecording , it looked average and just above average. After re-recording, film turned out to be extraordinary. This pat for Anirudh is seen by Nelson fans as a dig at the director.

Mark Antony is the first film in career of Vishal to touch the Rs 50 crore mark in 4 days of Tamil Box office. In Telugu however it has collected only Rs 6 crores. Last hit of Vishal was Irumbu Thirai which collected Rs 45 crores gross and it's Telugu version got Rs 23 crore. Film success goes to S J Suryah and GV rakash music and excellent edits.

Ajith - S J Suryah 's Vaalee already remade in Hindi- New twist to Boney Kapoor legal tangle

Why is Boney Kapoor buying Hindi remake rights of Tamil film ` Vaalee’ from NIC Arts Chakravarthy when it is already remade as Sheesha with Neha Dhupia and Sonu Sood ?. Mona Kapoor, first wife of Boney Kapoor, was the production coordinator of the film. Arjun Kapoor is her son. One of Film Producer’s is Guddu Dhanoa. It was released on February 11, 2005. The film credits show S J Suryah as story writer. The best part is that the film was dubbed into Tamil and released as `Adangathaval. The Tamil dubbed version credits S Baburaj as producer.  Madras High Court ruled in favour of Boney Kapoor who bought the rights from the producer Charkarvarthy. S J Suryah director- story writer challenged the purchase saying that he was the copyright owner as he is the creator of the film.

In some details like on the DVD cover, story is also credited to A Muthu. In the Hindi version, Ajith’s role was reversed. Heroine Neha played the dual role of sisters and Sonu Sood played the male lead. Muthu probably wrote this change for Hindi. Hindi film concentrated on Neha’s skin show and sultry scenes. It was directed by Ashu Trikha, who has directed Arjun Ramphal – Mithun Chakraborty films. His last release was Veerey Ki Wedding ( 2018) which had Jimmy Shergill in the cast.

Trade is wondering why Boney Kapoor instead of getting Hindi rights from Guddu got it from Chakravarthy ?. If Suryah name was already used as story writer of Seesha, then why did he not use this to prove his point in court ? As Hindi remake can be done with NIC Arts knowledge , Did Chakravarthy keep all involved in the loop about the Hindi remake rights ?. Guddu is cousin of actor Dharmendra and produced- directed films with Shah Rukh Khan – Sunny Deol- Akshay Kumar- Ajay Devgn. Currently he is directing Tamil film Singham 3 remake in Hindi with Thakoor Anoop Singh as hero. Thakoor played the baddie in Tamil film with Suriya as hero.

 

Big Bids for Maanaadu Hindi- Telugu remakes

 

Maanaadu’s Telugu and Hindi remake rights are in big demand. Telugu theatrical rights that has been bought is yet to release and now the buyer is willing to pay the remake rights for the same language and also for Hindi. The clash between two stars like in Vikram Vedha has excited producers as they feel that a multi star film would do wonders if Maanaadu is remade.

Yet another factor for remake  is that that the reason said in the film , for hero to be the chosen one to save the CM as he was born a Muslim in a North Indian temple and has closeness to Babri Masjid destruction is what that will strike chord with the mass.

S J Suryah has dubbed himself for the Telugu version. Maanaadu’s Tamil prints released in North India has got exceptional good response. Maanaadu{ review: STR- S J Suryah - Venkat Prabhu combo rocks

 Maanaadu the STR film keeps you engrossed as director Venkat Prabhu screenplay has many twists in it.  Though the time loop factor is irritating, after a point of time, the happenings make you forget this and keeps you amused at the going on's. Venkat justification for time loop factor is laughable but the way the conflict between STR- S J Suryah keeps building up and and how the director balances between the two actors and gives both of them their moments, makes it a very interesting watch.

Yuvan who is called the King of BGM seems to have given attention to the portions when Suryah appears. Most others in the the cast have not much but are quite effectively used. Kalyani Priyadarshan does catch the eye. Technically the film is good but for a few glitches like the VFX. This film happens to be Editor's Praveen's 100th film  The climax is something that is very ordinary .  If you don't get used to the time loop concept, the film is a very irritating.  It takes a while to get used to this treatment and once u are okay with it, the film is worth a watch.
