96 Film storms Valentine Days box office and King of Romance Gautham Menon announces that Joshua is ready for release and will come before Dhruv Natchithram. 96 re- released years later has on Day 3 is running full in 100 screens. This is a history of sorts as such movies do well on the intended day and here on Valentine Day being Feb 14th. The magic of Sethupathi and Trisha with Govind music is still fresh with lovers and that too after 6 years is amazing. Sethupathi had another surprise when a Telugu film Adikesava that he acted with Tej hit double digit TRP when released on Sar Maa. Gautham Menon said that efore Dhruv Natchaithram, his film Joshua will come and fans of the King of Romance are double happy. In Kerala, the rom com Premalu despite a massive opening by Brahmayugam of Mammootty has not seen any drop in collection. It only shows that Romance rules and evergreen. Sunny Leone debut film had Malayali hero like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra grandmom is Keralite Christian

 Priyanka Chopra's grand mother is a Malayali Christian. Aishwarya Rai's first hero was Mohanlal . Sunny Leone's first hero in debut film  was Nishant Sagar, a Malayali actor.. Samantha first film was directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and she played a Malayali in the film.

Priyanka Chopra's maternal grandmother is Mary John from `Kavalappara' family belonging to Syrian Jacobite Church in Kumarakom ,  famous for the backwaters and near Kottayam located in Central Kerala. She married a Bihar politician Dr M K Akhouri and changed her name to Madhu Jyotsna Akhouri. Her daughter is Dr Madhu Chopra. Priyanka's grandmother said in an interview that her relatives who visited her used to speak in Malayalam to Priyanka and she had picked up a few words. Priyanka and her brother Siddharth along with her mother were at the funeral held in a church in Poonkunam at  Kottayam. It was her grandmother's last wish to be cremated at the church ground of her birth place.

Aishwarya Rai\s first film she signed was Mani Rathnam!s Iruvar and the hero was Mohanlal, Later she signed a Hindi film with  Bobby Deol as hero. Both the films were box office failures. Actress Rohini dubbed for Aishwarya Rai in Iruvar. She played the dual role of  Pushpavalli and Kalpana ( Jayalalithaa).

The debut  feature film that Sunny Leone acted was a Indo American film  Pirates Blood . That film was directed by Mark Rating from hollywood, and Gulab Prem was its producer. Cinematography was done by Ramachandra Babu. That film was shot mainly in America and India. Nishanth Sagar who debuted in a film Jokker with Deliep was the hero. After this Hollywood film, Sunny signed the Hindi film Jism 2. The film was shot in 2006- 2007 and post production was done in Chennai. Pattanam Rasheed was the makeup man. The film is gearing for a theater release in India. Sunny is acting in a Malayalam film Shero directed by Kuttanadan Marappa fame director Sreejith Vijayan.

Samantha made her debut as leading lady in a Telugu film Ye Maaye Cheesave directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. It was a remake of his hit Tamil film Vinnai thandi Varuvaaya and Samantha played Jessie a Malayali Christian girl. She won the Andhra Nandi award for her debut film.

Katrina Kaif had played the lead opposite Mammooty in Balram v/s Tharadas,a Malayalam film directed by I V Sasi.

Gautham Menon plays lead in Malayalam film- Fahadh Faasil - Nadiya to play brother- sister

 

Gautham Menon director- actor will play a full length lead role in Malayalam film `Lovefully Yours Veda'  directed by Pragesh Sukumaran and has Rajisha Vijayan as the female lead. Rahul Raj scores the music. Menon was last seen in Malayalam film Trance with Fahadh Faasil in the lead. Menon has been doing baddie roles in Tamil. He is currently directing STR and busy wrapping up the shoot in Mumbai. First look trailor has garnered acclaim.

Nadiya Moidu who was introduced to Malayalam films by director Fazil is paired opposite his son Fahadh Faasil in a Malayalam film Sherlock directed by Mahesh Narayanan. It is part of an anthology of famed literary legend MT Vasudevan Nair short stories. Sherlock is the name of the cat owned by Nadiya Moidu , Fahadh Faasil 's  sister who lives in Canada with her husband. Faasil goes to Canada in search of work. Mahesh Narayanan will be directing a Tamil film that will be scripted and produced by Kamal Haasan. Fahad Faasil debut Telugu film where he plays baddie to Allu Arjun In Pushpa is releasing on December 17.

The 10 part anthology has ten directors who filmed MT's short stories for the streaming giant Netflix. Santosh Sivan, Lijo Pallisery, Shyama Prasad, Priyadarshan are among the directors and top stars Mammooty, Mohanlal, Biju Menon, Indrajith , Parvathy, Aparna Balamurali are among the actors who have acted in this anthology 

Simbu shooting photos leaked - Kayadu Lohar is heroine - Writer reveals plot

Simbu- director Gautham Menon film  ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’. shooting spot photos were leaked online. Kayadu Lohar who acted in Kannada film Muglipete opposite Kannada actor Manoranjan, son of Crazy Star Ravichandran has been finalized, Jeyamohan the writer said that the film is based on his novel and it was Simbu who wanted to do this subject. Menon revealed that like Karnan - Asuran or any other rustic films, it was not an out and out village subject. At the same time it had a rustic feel to it.

A clean shaven Simbu was clicked in scenes opposite Radhika, Simbu had lost weight to play the role. Kayadu Lohar is a winner of Miss Fresh Face title conducted in Pune by Times of India. Director Vinayan signed her for his period Malayalam film  ‘Pathonpathaam Noottandu’.

Jeyamohan said that the earlier subject that GVM was to do with Simbu was dropped after the actor who read his novel “Agni Kunjondru Kanden”.  The subject does have urban link  and not a full fledged rustic film said the writer. Reports said that Simbu had said that he wanted to play a role like Dhanush did in Asuran. Simbu- Dhanush rivalry is a talked about matter among fans of both actors.

The outdoor unit of film went to Trichendoor after haggling between Producer Ishari Ganesh- Tamil Film Producers Council . The latter wanted Simbu to pay back the advance collected from some producers years back and also compensate a producer who lost money due to the actor's no show at the spot. Producer Ganesh agreed to pay two of the claimants and settle the other two on coming back from shoot. Council claimed it had issued a red card on the production house and despite that employees belonging to apex trade body FEFSI went ahead and took part in the shoot. FEFSI President claims that no such clearance was given and it was the Council that gave the green signal.

Navarasa : Fast Forward to last episode- Shringara - Gautham Menon- Suriya - Karthik (music) rocks

First go the last episode Shringara and then look for Roudhram directed by Aravind Swami. Only these two out of the 9 stories - 9 emotions that is tackled brilliantly.  Lets start with the best-

I feel that Gautham Vasudev Menon can be in his elements only if he gets the right actors. Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru, is one such .  For one Suriya works magic on screen as the musician  and the lover boy. Add to it the girl Prayaga Martin who  is just the kind of girl that a GVM film needs . The music is mind blowing. The scene where Suriya picks up the guitar to shift from Beethoven Fur Elise to a Tamil melody just leaves you stunned. The collaboration between Karthik ( also singer) and GVM elevates the film to a different level. Madan Karky lyrics is just the in thing. To those who say that the reason for break up should have been told- I think the lyrics of song that Suriya sings about their love and the time frame gives  hints. Visually we are taken back in reverse and stops just before they met for the first time.

The Roudhram episode is good in the only fact that it springs surprise on you in terms of a twist to the narration. The characterization is very weak . With a brother in jail and a mother whom she hates, the daughter becoming an police inspector is not explained anywhere. A shallow treatment.

Except for GVM who knows his terrain , and his characters well fleshed out, all others give a shallow treatment. Whether it be subjects in the backdrop of  Naxalism- Eelam conflict, or Brahman wedding the focus on the theme is lost. The guilt aspect or the fear have good starts but soon goes into a whimper. The Siddharth- Parvathy episode  start with the old man and young girl was good but soon gloss set in to take the punch out. Like GVM is to romance, Priyadarshan is to Comedy. Add to this Yogi Babu. What you get is a comedy skit !!!

Kriti Sanon to romance Simbhu in Gautham Menon film

 

Kriti Sanon will be romancing Simbhu in Gautham Menon’s Nadhigalilae Neeradum Suriyan'(NNS),revealed a source. The actress was suggested by A R Rahman who scored the music for Mimi ( in which she plays the lead  released on Netflix) . Rahman is composer for Gautham- Simbhu’s NNS film. The film which is the third collaboration between the director and actor has raised high expectations in the fan circles of the director and the actor. The Tamil film viewers who are lovers of romantic film genre still consider Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa released in 2010 in which Simbhu romanced Trisha and directed by Gautham with music by Rahman as the benchmark.

The combo set off speculation when Gautam released a short film  Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn which featured a phone conversation between Karthik ( Simbhu) and Jessie ( Trisha), two characters in VTV. Fans expected that it was a teaser  of part 2 of VTV. However Gautham scotched rumors that he was making a sequel.

The film NNS is all set to start shoot. Simbhu had finished work on Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu and an extended cameo in Maya with Hansika in central role too ready for release. Simbhu is paired with Kalyani Priyadarshan in Maanaadu. On the floors he has Krishna’s Pathu Thala with Priya Bhavani Shankar as heroine.

Kriti Sanon had started her career in  Telugu with Nenokkadine opposite Mahesh Babu in 2014. After that she has not acted in any South films. Now she has signed the Hindi- Telugu film Adipurush with Prabhas and directed by Om Raut. She plays Sita in the film based on Ramayana .the epic. In Bollywood , she has  Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar , Bhedhiya with Varun Dhawan ,  Hum do Hamare do with Rajkummar Rao. 

The film NNS title has an interesting tale. Simbhu had asked Gautham to name it Superstar but the producer Ishari Ganesh - director Gautham felt it might not go down well with Rajinikanth fans. They put a star symbol instead of alphabet A in word Suriyan on the poster( cover photo). Simbhu played character Rajinikanth in Gautham’s film  Acham Yenbathu Madamaiyada'. Simbhu aks STR is also known to fans as Little Superstar and Young Superstar.
