Udhayanidhi Stalin’s son, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi, recently took charge as CEO of Red Giant Movies, and now he is all set to make a grand debut as a hero in films. The Tamil media reports suggest that Mari Selvaraj will be directing this project, and he already directed Udhay Stalin’s final film, Maamannan, which also starred Vadivelu. Maamannan achieved big success and made a perfect farewell film for Udhayanidhi Stalin as hero, and now Mari Selvaraj takes another responsibility to launch his son, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi, as a hero. Meanwhile, the director is all set to release Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran, on this Diwali. About Inbanithi Udhayanidhi Born in 2004 in Chennai, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi studied at a private school and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree. Inbanithi made headlines by joining NEROCA FC in 2021 as a professional footballer, playing as a midfielder. He trained at Football Plus Academy in Chennai and has also been appointed as the CEO of Red Giant Movies, as said above.

As per the latest updates, Suriya46’s shooting is currently underway in the picturesque Eastern European country of Belarus. The makers have planned an action sequence on Suriya and a song in the crucial ongoing schedule. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, senior Tamil-Telugu actress Raadika Sarathkumar, and young Tamil actress Bhavani Sre play key roles in Suriya46, while Venky Atluri is directing this prestigious project. Popular producer Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are producing the movie under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas banner. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the soundtrack for the movie. Suriya is making his Tollywood debut with a wholesome family entertainer. Tentatively titled Suriya46, the film also features young Malayalam beauty Mamitha Baiju in a lead role.

To all those who have read about Udhaynidhi Stalin and his Red Giant Production company ( also distributes movies) having corned Kollywood and become the Monster that is crippling the industry, must read this piece of information that I came across in Reddit. I was taken aback that Udhay took this stance that whatever profi he got from Rocketry sales in Tamil Nadu went to a charity that Nambi Narayanan named. Nambi comes from Thiruvanthapuram my home town. I know the mood of the place when the ISRO spy scandal broke out and talks of our Leader Karunakaran being part of the ring that sold our space program secrets to foreign country agents. It was later known that actually Nambi was a victim of a power play with Congress wing of Kerala. In fact Rocketry and through it BJP ( Modi) set right the wrong done by Congress. Now Stalin DMK and Congress are allies and there is no need to take up Rocketry distribution, as it is not hot property. Maddy is no great shakes in Tamil Nadu. If Red Giant is the Monster that is fleecing the producers and threatening theatres to screen his films he could have done it with Rocketry. But did not. Secondly report says that if at all the film gave him profits he was planning it to give to charity. I am surprised that the film in fact did this much business as I saw it in the company of a handful audience ( mostly love birds). I am giving below the TN collection only. The post says Nambi Narayanan got Rs 2.5 crore for using his subject. Madhavan as producer made profits of Rs 15 crores in Indian business and he wants to give 50% of the profit to Nambi. To North Indian film goers , Soundarya is known as Suryavamsh girl who acted opposite Big B. The film when released in theatres was a flop but on Sony Max it was a big hit. In fact this film is a remake of a Tamil film with same name starring Sarathkumar- Devyani and Priya Raman. Directed by Vikraman, it was remake in Telugu by EVV. The film has through TV streaming collected Rs 50 crores. The startling complaint that Telugu actor Mohan Babu engineered the helicopter crash that killed Soundarya and it was too usurp her farms in Andhra created a big buz. Now this statement; n response to these allegations, Soundarya’s husband, Raghu, issued a strong clarification. Dismissing the rumors, he stated, "False information about Mohan Babu and Soundarya's property in Hyderabad has been circulating. I categorically deny these baseless claims. Suriya Etherukum Thunivan is success and Beat of Vijay is collection wise a profit but could be made better. Don of Sivakarthikeyan collected Rs 38 crores in Tamil Nadu and he revealed that when he and his team saw the film, the jokes did not make anybody laugh and only last 15 minutes of father – son connect worked. So asked Siva to trim the college scenes and instead of doing it , they added more scenes. When released it was a blockbuster. Akhil Marar is Congress MP candidate ? - Varun Dhawan in Theri remake - Vadivelu played Speaker Dhanapal

The Kerala division of the Congress party is enthusiastically celebrating the victory of their party member , Akhil Marar, in the Bigg Boss 5 Malayalam competition. Ramesh Chennithala, the former Home Minister and a five-time MLA, was the first to share an old photograph of himself presenting a book he had written to Marar. Chennithala praised Marar as an individual with a broad perspective on national issues. Following suit, Kodukunil Suresh MP also shared an old photo of himself with Marar, extending his congratulations. Now, the question arises whether Marar, who possesses a national perspective, will be given a seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Pa Ranjith, known for directing films that address caste oppression, praised Mari Selvaraj's film "Mammanan" for shedding light on caste discrimination within political parties. Ranjith highlighted that the film portrays an elected MLA, who holds power to shape the region's development, being rendered powerless by upper-caste leaders. He emphasized the importance of young individuals breaking free from caste oppression and speaking up, as depicted in the movie. Ranjith also commended producer and actor Dhyanaidhi Stalin, who is an MLA and the son of DMK supremo Stalin, for supporting such a bold subject. As a gesture of appreciation, Dhyanaidhi gifted Mari a Mini Cooper car. There are ongoing debates regarding whether the character played by Vadivelu in the film is based on former State Assembly Speaker Dhanapal. Varun Dhawan will act in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Their which was directed by Atlee and featured Vijay. Atlee is co-producing this film and director Kalees who directed the Tamil film Kee will be helming it. There is being remade in Telugu as Ustad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan.

Thalapathy Vijay to cut down on films - Valatty first in Indian cinema

Thalapathy Vijay who is going to test the political waters in the coming 2026 Tamil Nadu State polls will cut down on number of films that he is doing and spend more time with Vijay Makkal Iyakkam office bearers and the hundred odd ward councilors who won in the last local bodies election. However political analyst Rangaraj Pandey says that Vijay will not take the plunge for the upcoming State polls and would be fielding his candidates for the 2031 polls , as he would battle ready only then. He says that the 2031 poll will see BJP in a position to clinch power in Tamil Nadu. He foresees Vijay entry as a threat to heir apparent Udhaynidhi Stalin , son of DMK chief and CM M K Stalin. Pandey pointed out that it is evident that Vijay has an eye on politics as he announced that exam toppers in 234 constituencies would be awarded and deviated from the usual practice of giving District level toppers. Some political analysts said that Vijay’s call to end the cash for vote practice that is followed by both Dravidian parties is the reading that he got about cash being the deciding factor in each poll . There is a possibility of his Iyakkam taking the role of exposing the practice in the coming poll that is eight months away. Ironically, all parties have welcomed Vijay’s call to end cash for vote call , As Pandey pointed out that it would be immature to speak against the actor now. He has not spoken about any of his iyakkam plans or announced his entry, Pandey said. As caste plays a big hand in polls, the SC Christian background of Vijay ( real name Joseph Vijay) will also come into play. There is a buzz that the film that is to be launched and directed by Venkat Prabhu is a political vehicle that will tell about his future plans. Usual practice is to give the certificate to State topper and leave the rest to be given by the Iyakkam secretary. What started at 11.30 AM finished only in the post noon. Another notable factor was there was no banners- cutouts at the venue or on the road from Vijay’s house to the convention hall.

Karthik Gowda informs that big time Telugu producer- distributor has tied up with him to release in two Andhra States and Anil Thandani will release the Hindi version. Home Screen Entertainment will look after overseas. The film’s storytelling is made to appeal to young and old . Roshan Mathew, Shoubin , Sunny Wayne and Saiju Kurup have lend their voices to the canine actors. Devan took three years to shoot it as the dogs needed to be trained for the scenes. Friday Film House Vijay Babu who has been behind many hit films with novel subjects is the producer. Babu is currently producing a film with Suraj Venjaramoodu and Basil ( jay Jaya hey fame). Yet another collaboration with Karnataka producer Hombale Films and Malayalam industry is Dhoomam the Malyalam film starring Fahadh Faazil and directed by Kannada director Pawan. The film will be released simultaneously in Kerala and Karnataka on June 23rd and a week later in other South States.

Is Mari Selvaraj's latest film, Maamannan, part of a cinematic universe similar to Lokesh Kanagaraj's (consisting of Kaithi and Vikram)? This question arose following a tweet that drew attention to a tattoo on Vadivelu's hand in the film's poster, which resembles the character played by Malayalam actor Lal in Dhanush's Karnan. The character, called Yema Raja or Thattha, commits suicide at a crucial point in the film, and his photo is seen on the walls of the village community hall in the ending scene. The previous poster for Maamannan featured Udhyanidhi Stalin holding a sword and Vadivelu holding a gun.

Mani Ratnam had announced the film Raavan starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai following the success of Guru. In the Tamil version, Vikram played the role of Junior Bachchan. In his upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan, Vikram will portray Aditya Karaikalan, a significant Chola Emperor. Recently, an old interview of Mani Ratnam resurfaced on Reddit where he addressed Amitabh Bachchan's comment on the uneven editing in Raavan which, according to him, caused a lack of coherence in the storyline. Despite this criticism, Mani Ratnam refused to take pointers from Amitabh Bachchan, stating that he didn't pay attention to everything that people say.

However, the director, Jude Anthany, convinced him to take the part, explaining why he believed Tovino was perfect for the role. Despite his initial hesitation, Tovino accepted the role because he found the character and the storyline intriguing, and the screenplay impressive. "2018" features other notable actors such as Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, and Aparna Balamurali and was originally released in Malayalam on May 5, but has since been made available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, with the most recent release on May 12.

Udhaynidhi Stalin no wooden actor - But Nenjukku Needhi hits a box office low

 For the first time, I felt that Udhaynidhi Stalin was not wasting his time in Kollywood trying to be an actor. Now after the good news that Udhaynidhi has finally come out of the list of wooden actors of Kollywood , comes the bad news. At the box office, movie tanked so badly that on day one the collection was Rs 1.3 crores in Tamil Nadu primarily. Slightly climbed by a few thousands on day two and today one has to wait . He was successful as a producer- distributor and Red Giant  banner is big time . So you cannot win on both fronts. Even DMK Kanmanis are not gung-ho about their Chepauk Che Guevara .

All those who take film viewing as serious business and want to compare the film with Hindi film Article 15 , original source of this Nenjuku Neethi, you can rest at home. This film is no patch on Article 15 and Udhaynidhi is no  Ayushman Khurana.. Nor is Arunraja  Kamaraj competent to remake the film directed by Anubhuv Sinha  by transplanting it to the Tamil Nadu milieu and pruning it to suit the audience.

I ,for one decided to not revisit  Art 15 in the OTT platform and see Tamil film it for what it was worth. The start was promising of the manual  scavenger scene and expected more. What did I get instead ? A doctor named Anitha ( remember NEET suicide ?_,  Only Hindi speaking CBI officer  ( lecture on Hindi imposition) and so on that it was contrived. We get shots of Udhaynidhi with the rising sun in the background. As expected, the famous scene in which Ayushman has a heart to heart talk with his colleagues to know their caste was watered down since it could trigger a backlash , especially among the Priyarists.

Udhyanidhi delivers and in ample measure. Tanya is about ok and Suresh Chakravarthy ( Bigg Boss) a scene stealer. Coming to Aari ( another Bigg Boss fame), it cannot be said the same. The fault lies in sketching of the role. Thamizharasan dialogues are punchy but yet sounds like political statements.  Coming to music and cinematography, I think Thomas musical score was far better than Article 15. Same cannot be said about Dinesh's camerawork. Visuals were more glossy than needed.

You get the feeling that director had a compulsion to fit in the DMK manifesto into the plot. Despite all this handicaps, Udhaynidhi's role was not made into a MASS one and thanks to Udhaynidhi for it. But as a distributor- producer, he might be feeling now that a DADA cop mouthing DMK propaganda might have got him more money .

Ajith shoot in Mount Road Chennai from March 9th - Arjun Kapoor in Comali remake

 

Ajith's next shoot will begin on March  9th in Mount Road Chennai set erected in Ramoji Rao film city Hyderabad. Valimai Hindi ( same name) will have 1000 screens in North India, biggest for a Ajith Kumar film. Producer is not bothered about how the distributor is going to get screens but  Valimai will release on scheduled date Feb 25 even if Gangubhai of Alia Bhatt is coming on the same date as Boney Kapoor says both are different genres.  Arjun Kapoor is going to act in  Jeyam Ravi's Tamil film `Comali' remake and F2 (  Varun Tej's Telugu). R J Balaji's Veetiliya Visheshangal ( remake of Badhai Ho ) and Udhyanidhi Stalin Nenjuku Neethi  (Article 15) will release in first half of summer.

A confident Boney in an interview said that with little promotion, he is sure  that he will do good biz with Valimai. He says that he is not expecting Rs 100 cr biz in North but only a decent output. Even before Pushpa, Boney sold Hindi theatrical rights. His daughter Jhanvi's next release is Mili , remake of Malayalam film Helen..

His son Arjun Kapoor will reprise Jeyam Ravi's role in Comali remake and Varun Tej's  F2 in Hindi. Anees Bazme will be directing F2 remake and there is talk that Bazmee will being doing No Entry sequel with Salman Khan. Boney said he is keeping his fingers crossed. Luv Ranjan will direct Comali remake.

Boney's upcoming Maaidan with Ajay Devgn will clash with Prithviraj in June. Maaidan is coming on June 3 and following week is Prithviraj ( AkshayKumar). Here too he rules out any change  in  dates.  Valimai OTT release dates yet to be set says Boney. Zee5 is the OTT rights holder. PEN who is distributor of Valimai was also for Ravi Teja's Khiladi Hindi. On first day, there wasno  morning shows and till date there is no box office figures.

Son Rises to save STR's Maanaadu - Fans angry as special shows cancelled

Kalaignar TV owned by DMK First Family bought the TV telecast rights and SonyLiv the digital rights of STR Maanaadu to help the producer pay the outstanding dues and help him to release the film on the scheduled date ( Nov 24). Fan shows scheduled to start at 5 AM in city theatre Rohini was cancelled as the digital provider Qube did not give the digital key. By 8 AM, the FDFS began to roll. STR fans have predictably given the film a big Thumbs Up on twitter. The fans who came to movie hall at 4 AM and burst crackers and danced in front of STR cutouts soon got tired as the show timings got pushed further and finally it was announced that the fan shows were cancelled. Irate fans were seen abusing Producer Cool Suresh.

By yesterday noon, Producer Suresh Kamatchi tweeted that Maanaadu would not release on Friday. He cited unavoidable reasons. The reason was that he  had to pay the financier the money that he borrowed. He asked the finanacier to wait till he tied up the TV and digital rights. Star Vijay who after the previous Eeasawaran experience, was willing to pay the amount after seeing the public response. Financier was not willing to wait and finally Udhaynidhi Stalin, stepped in and clinched the TV rights for reportedly Rs 6 crores. SonyLiv bought the Digital rights for Rs 3 crores and Ishari Ganesh of Vels International who is producer of STR- Menon under production film chipped in with another Rs 3 crores. Financier gave the green signal.

Dr Ishari Ganesh - TR and wife Usha ( parents of STR) were said to have taken the lead to rope in Udhaynidhi. Delay in bank transactions from  Sony LIV is said to have led to fan shows being cancelled.

Maanaadu, which is touted to be a time-loop thriller film with political and action elements, marks Venkat Prabhu's comeback as director after a long gap of 5 years. The movie also marks the filmmaker's first onscreen collaboration with STR. Maanaadu features the popular actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah as the lead antagonist. First half of the film is said to be a drag but picks up steam in second half.
