Dulquer drops out of Thug Life - Arjun Das and Kalidas in Lokesh quickie

Dulquer Salmaan has dropped out of Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam as he has no dates for the Serbia schedule. Who is going to replace DQ at the last minute ?. Insiders say that the shooting schedules are planned according to availability of Kamal Haasan. It was earlier decided that Kamal would move on to H Vinoth fulm before joining Mani. This changed after Kamal put Vinoth in waiting list and decided to dole out dates between Mani and Kalki. With this, all schedules have been advanced and Kamal wants to shoot a sizable portion before he takes to full time campaigning and if he wins, the duties of becoming an MP will occupy him. Usually, actors have been replaced but not after making an official announcement by Mani. Speculation has thrown up names and not found the way to final list. Now we had heard that Keerthy Suresh was to do PS 2 and as it clashed with Rajini’s Annaatthhe , she did not figure. We hear that Jeyam Ravi who sounded for a cameo would step unto DQ shoe. If you look up DQ film line up, you can see why it is difficult to dole away dates ar short notice as it would disturb his other projects. Currently he is doing Telugu film Lucky Basjar directed by Veky Attluri, As he finishes this, it is Suriya- Sudha Kongara film, He has signed a Selvamani Selvaraj film which has Rana Daggubatti too.

Lokesh Kankaraj has to keep LCU concept alive till he finishes directing Rajini as it is not part of LCU. For this he had put a plan of bringing out a small budgeted film which will feature Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayram who played Prabhanjan and Anbu in Vikram. He has roped in Narain to do the script and direction. The film will trace out the Lokesh Cinema Universe from the start to till now. With Thalapathy not being part of Lokesh future films and Kamal post Lok Sabha might not be available, Lokesh has to keep the concept alive for a year. With trends changing overnight, it is better to be in circulation in some way or other

Jack and Jill movie review: Cannot be a Santosh Sivan film

 Santosh Sivan might have just put his name to the film to help his friends ( maybe producer Prasanth Das ) as this film should be shown to FTII students as an example of how a former  student who touched dizzying heights as a film maker can plunger to such low level as a directror. Here and there you get flashes of the camera of Sivan. One takeaway from the film is that Manju Warrier is so flexible and at ease in the action scenes, a real treat.

In a period wen Artifical Intelligence is a part of  school text books. Sivan tells us so many things that has no touch with reality. Most of the caricatures that are abound as characters and contrived scenes make you sit with astonishment. Is this the same Satosh Sivan wo gave Ananathabadram and Urmi ?. Wat a fall !!!.

Director Pa Ranjith shifts back to romance genre - Kalidas Jayram and Ashok Selvan in the lead

After Sarpatta Parambarai, Director Pa Ranjith next deals with romance. The film titled Natchathiram Nagarkirathu. will have Kalidas Jayram and  Ashok Selvan in the lead. This is the second  time after his debut film Attakathi that that Ranjith is handing romance as all other three films were about underworld Dons. 

Pa Ranjith believes that his films reflects his ideology .He works on screen and off screen for the Dalits welfare and to break the stereotypical image of them being a rebellious group. Right from Madras to Rajinikanth starrer Kabali and Kala, the Dalit voice has been put across subtly, Even the latest release Sarpatta too gives this message across, This time the 1975 Emergency Days linger in the backdrop. He was quoted as saying that he chose boxing as the subject since Dalits consider Late Muhammad Ali as "a great inspiration for many from the working class because they always felt connected with his macho looks, warrior spirit and also because of his skin colour,”

Ranjith's mature love tracks in Kabali and Kala was liked by many. Sarpatta Parambarai is heading to be the most liked movie among Tamil movie goers and positive responses and congratulations from other language film Industries are pouring in as the film is released on Amazon Prime with subtitles. Main protagonist Arya who recently married Sayeesha (daughter of actors Sumeet Saigal and Shaheen Banu and is the grandniece of Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar. She made her Bollywood entry in Ajay Devgn Shivaay and acted in Telugu- Tamil films) was blessed with their first child, a baby girl on July 23rd. The film was released on July 22nd.
