Hindi films on the other hand that have only Bollywood actors are falling below as they do not connect with Tamil and Telugu audience abroad.

Inflated Box office of Manjumel Boys ? Kamal hero- Deepika trolled post Kalki trailor

Only filmdom welcomes a new Chief Minister for a price rise. In Andhra, any CM that agrees to give the power to exhibitors to fix admission rates for viewers is seen as Industry friendly. So what about the viewers who have to shell 100 times more money to see a film in first week ?. Who cares ?. Aswini Dutt Producer of Kalki 2898 AD met his pal Chandrababu Naidu the new AP CM and now we hear that Kalki will collect in two weeks what RRR did in a lifetime run. Tickets are priced like mad. Fan shows which sell tickets at crazy prices and screen them at unearthly hours are back , it seems. Now why should Telangana CM be anti-Industry and pro viewer ?. In short, you can expect Kalki to topple all collection records of any earlier Telugu films. Our Stalin Ayya is not willing to go the Naidu way and still maintains a grip on ticket prices. Coing to Kalki, Kalki trailor is for Kamal fans a trailor for Indian 2 and the caliber of Ulaganayakan. One cannot stop raving about the look of Kamal. Kamal Haasan appears at the end of the trailer with a get-up that reminds you of Gollum from “Lord of the Rings”. This is the first similarity that one comes across.. Kamal Haasan tells us of a “new world will arrive soon,” The casualty is Deepika Padukone. She is said to have dubbed in Telugu for the film and now this has backfired and is subject of trolls. Could be that her character speaks an accented Telugu ? She was paid Rs 20 crores for this film . The Kerala connect to Kalki is that Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films is distributing the film in Kerala. Dulquer Salmaan had acted in Sita Ramam produced by Kalki producer and now he is distributing it. The fact that Kamal who plays baddie and has only ten minures screen space in Kalki First part is talk of town after trailor release, the film’s box office in Tamil Nadu and Kerala has doubled.
One of the biggest hits this year in Kerala is Manjumel Boys and now this film will be also a matter for Enforcement Directorate ED to probe whether there was money laundering involved. The actual financier had lodged a complaint that he paid Rs 7 crores and was to get 40 percent of the returns but so far he got nothing. When the bank accounts were probed, there was only Rs 40 lakhs. The film gross was Rs 251 crores officially. So was the entire project a money laundering scheme to make black money into white through inflated box office records ? Is the gross figures that film producers put out the real collections and most suspicious is the ones that is attributed to overseas collections ?

Sreeleela opposite Ajith - Kamal - Raaja remix galore

Sreeleela who had a dream run in Tollywood is now on a downslide. Latest is that she is in all probability on board for Food Bad and Ugly starring Ajith. Adhik Ravichandran the director is probably going by the Telugu Producer wants. All the same Sreeleela is a welcome change in the Kollywood heroines. Mythiri Movie Makers has got DSP as music composer. After Bhaghavanth Kesari with Balayaa , Sreeleela has been in big banners and in Mahesh Babu film Guntur Karam. All the same she has lost the most wanted heroine in Tollywood. Hopefully Ajith film will give her a new run. As we talk about Ajith, we are told that he is starting work on Vidamuyurchi by month end. Similarly Thug Life unit was spotted in New Delhi streets shooting.
Manjumel Boys hit has restarted the trend of remixing Illaiyaraaja hits in Malayalam films. Boys Guna song remiz was a craze and now a music label company honcho says that the newly launched Mohanlal film directed by Tharun Moorthy has three Raja hits rights bought for remix. Vanithamani en mohini vanthadu hit song from Kamal – Ambika film Vikram is remixed for Prithviraj film Vilayat Buddha. As we are talking about Malayalam film music, do hear the song released from upcoming Nivin Pauly film Malayali From India . A Jajes Bejoy song is sort of Malayali Anthem. Nivin sparked in the Pranav film Varshangalluku sesham.

Manjumel Boys financier fight for survival - Another Saudi real life horror

Manjumel Boys got their friend out of Guna caves , In real life the financier of the film is in a Guna cave and he has only the court to bring him out. The real Producer or rather the man who invested the money in Manjumel Boys film has yet to see a single paisa as returns and now has got a court order to freeze the bank accounts of those who appear in titles as Producers. The banner is Parva Films and the court ordered the bank account of the production company and it’s partner to be freezed. According to Siraj Valiyathara Hamid he invested Rs 20 crores for production as Parva Films said that the film budget would be Rs 20 crores. Out of this Rs 7 crores was spend to produce the film. As per official figures, world wide the film has collected Rs 220 crores. The agreement was that for the investment made, Siraj will get forty percentage of the profits. Manjumel Boys OTT has been sold for Rs 20 crores . Shoubin who acted in the film is one of the Producers It has to be seen whether Siraj who invested the money in the survival thriller is able to get his money and share of the profits.
As Aadujeevitham based on real life character that went through hell in Saudi Deserts has become a hit, a film of another Kerala migrant who was sentenced to death by a Saudi court in 2006, is to be made into a film. In 2006, Abdul Rahman from Feroke in Kerala was sentenced to death by Saudi court on charges of killing the son of his employer. Rahman who as driving the employer’s car got into an argument with the son and in a fit if anger hit at him. The blow damaged the life support system device that the son used and he died on the spot. In a mercy plea, the migrant population in Saudi and in other GCC countries raised Rs 34 crores demanded by the dead boys family to let Rahman off the hook. Producer of the film is Shaji from Delhi who had made Oralpokkam' and 'Ozhivudivasathe Kali'

PVR Boycott of Malayalam films is no threat

Manjumel Boys Telugu dubbed version is first casualty of the clash between PVR INOX and Kerala Producers Association. After three days of house full shows in PVR chains across AP &TS, the film has been taken off. The distributor who bought the film has asked Telugu Film Producers Association to persuade the chain from dropping the film for a dispute that happened in Kerala. Fahad Fasil,Pranav Mohanlal and Unni Mukundan films hit theatres for Ramzan. In Chennai the non PVR theatres are running these films. The PVR threat will have no impact as far as Chennai is considered. PVR has 8 properties in Chennai and in ECR- OMR. The boycott may mean that Malayalam films would not reach those in the far flung suburbs but within the city there are other chains like AGS that screen Malayalam films. Ramzan releases opened to good response in Chennai. On April 26th Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) is releasing Actor Dilip film Pavi Caretaker. The body will accept films directly from Producers and bypass the distributors. Kerala Film Producers body has stipulated that theatres should release films that are distributed through those who are members of the distributors body that they recognise. Kerala Film Producers Association is implementing a scheme that Tamil Film Producers Council had brought in. They had backed a digital transmission network that gave films to theatres on a lesser rate and agreed to share advertisement revenue with Producers. It remained a non starter and finally the newly formed Active Producers negotiated with players like Qube to get lower rates. The new company that Kerala Producers is promoting has lesser fee for up linking theatres but existing theatres will not dump Qube for an upgradation is costly. PVR and Miraj that opened new multiplexes were given the ultimatum to take the new company or face boycott. PVR who has a global arrangement with Qube cannot have a different player in Kerala alone, To what extent the PVR boycott will affect Malayalam films market in South States has to be seen. In case of Tamil and Telugu films that have big bucks biz outside home market mcannot afford a squabble with PVR.

Why Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush need Divorce ?

Why is Aishwarya Rajinikanth seeking a legal divorce now ? It was agreed that there would be no legal separation between Aishwarya and Dhanush and that the movable and immovable properties that both have in their names , separately or jointly would remain as those that their children can inherit. The reason that the couple moved the family court now is not linked to the properties that Aishwarya would inherit from her Superstar Rajinikanth Dad. Stories are doing the rounds that Rajinikanth and wife Latha were keen that Aishwarya go in for a written legal settlement with Dhanush and after separation list out the assists that they would hold. It was to safeguard the wealth that Aishwarya would inherit. Real reason is that Dhanush and Aishwarya have moved on in life and come to a working arrangement by which both share parenthood duties. Sources say that Dhanush and to a certain extent Aishwarya feel that the married tag has become an unnecessary tag and at times it is a mental burden. As things stand, both have been circulating around and seeing like minded people. The move for a legal end to the marriage came from Dhanush side and does it mean that he is going in for a second marriage or plump for a relationship?. It is said in hush hush circles that a talented girl from same profession and worked with the actor have at present share a platonic relationship. A single status would probably take the relationship further.
From Dhanush, we mov e to Thalapathy Vijay . Our Thiruvanthapuram source says that the director Venkat Prabhu himself acted in a sequence that was shot in the stadium It was not a small scene but an extended shot says the source. Now we hear that the photo of Vijay in a Sai Baba temple is one shot in Korrattur, where he built a temple.
We conclude this with a news that dubbed Telugu version of Manjumel Boys has like in Tamil Nadu brought cheer to the Telugu States and brightened Ugadi. Even Vijay Devarakonda Fanily Star which was doing badly had a rise on Ugadi day and Tillu Square continues to rule.

Rajini- Salman to team up - Atlee Rs 60 crore bill for Sun Pictures- Manjumel Boys a drunk Mallu story

This week j starts with two directors = A R Murugadoss and Atlee. We learn that Rajinikanth and Salman Khan are coming together for a film helmed by ARM in Hindi and produced by Saji Nadiadwala. Sajid had announced that he had signed Thalaivar but with no details. The bizz is that ARM has read out a script to both actors and it is not a remake. ARM had in Hindi directed Ghajini (2008), Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), Akhira (2016) , all remakes. Way back, Sajid had directed Salman Khan in the Hindi remake of Ravi Teja film Kick. Now ARM has come up with a sequel. Back home, ARM is to direct Sivakarthikeyan. Atlee’s stock in Bollywood is high and our sources say that Sun Pictures has agreed to foot his direction fees of Rs 60 cr plus share of digital rights for a project starring Allu Arjun and it would be the actor’s Hindi debut. The announcement to come on the actor’s birthday will mark the actor’s next after Pushpa 2. Though Pushpa 2 is much hyped film in Bollywood, in Telugu States, the price of Rs 100 cr demanded by the producers is considered too steep as it was not a big hit as in North India. The collections of RRR in these States were along this lines and trade feels that Pushpa 2 will not be as big as RRR.
Writer Jeyamohan review of Manjumel Boys Manjummel Boys – A drunkard’s rant“: “I refrain from critiquing contemporary cinema and avoid commentary, as I am a part of it. Cinema, to me, is neither art nor propaganda but purely a business venture. This business norm dictates that one entrepreneur should not undermine the interests of another. This perspective aligns with an internal principle. However, after viewing the Malayalam film “Manjummel Boys” amidst accolades and excitement, I couldn’t help but notice the excessive adulation showered upon Malayalam cinema, especially by certain media outlets. Every film is hailed as a classic without deserving such praise, often turning out to be mundane imitations that fail to captivate a diverse audience. If “Manjummel Boys” had been a Tamil production, one might question the exaggerated risk and heroism portrayed in Tamil newspapers, which seems unknown to the locals in Kerala. The film depicts a moment where a man risks his life for another, creating an atmosphere of suspense. Yet, the reality of such an incident and its coverage is questionable, resembling a climactic fabrication presented as realism. In essence, all films are amalgamations of elements meant for entertainment. Here, the masses, devoid of even a rudimentary intellectual introduction, engage solely in cinematic discussions, masquerading as intellectual pursuits. They consume what is presented to them and coexist within their destiny, fueled by their pocket money, a source of my concern. “Manjummel Boys” irked me, not for its fictional elements but for mirroring a mindset prevalent among Kerala tourists who infiltrate tourist spots across the South. The film portrays a disturbing pattern of drunken behavior, vomiting, trespassing, and a lack of basic knowledge or civility. This depiction resonates with the unfortunate reality of drunk Malayalis engaging in road rage incidents in areas like Ooty, Kodaikanal, and Courtalam. My experiences include witnessing these intoxicated individuals causing havoc, leading to broken roads and the tragic deaths of at least twenty elephants annually due to discarded bottles. Despite my efforts, as highlighted in “The Elephant Doctor,” the film’s director appears oblivious to the consequences of such behaviors. These Malayali individuals, often oblivious to languages other than Malayalam, exhibit a sense of entitlement, showcased realistically in the film through their interactions with Tamil Nadu police. Attending weddings in Kerala has become a challenging ordeal, with two distinct types of Malayalis – those who toiled abroad and those who exploit domestic drinkers. These inebriated groups disrupt weddings with their unruly behavior, even resorting to vomiting during ceremonies. Tamil Nadu seems to be heading towards Kerala’s norm, wherein cinema normalizes drug addiction and vices while portraying law-abiding citizens as benefactors. Kerala cinema consistently depicts joy through drinking, fighting, rioting, and vomiting, presenting a skewed perception of reality. In other words, the protagonist of today’s Malayalam cinema are the ones whom a Tamil hero saves the common man from. The root of this cinematic trend lies in a small group of drug addicts in Ernakulam, perpetuating alcoholism and worse addictions day and night. Malayalam cinema, once celebrated for naturalistic works of art, has now veered towards centralizing such themes. Government intervention is imperative to counteract the influence of filmmakers glorifying drug addiction. Those who celebrate these drug addiction movies in Tamil Nadu are likened to scoundrels, as commercial cinema, devoid of artistic attributes, directly addresses the uneducated masses. Granting artistic freedom to such cinema will only impoverish and degenerate the masses who lack intellectual resistance. While these mobs degrade tourist attractions, their intrusion into thick forests poses a greater threat. Ignoring laws and warnings, they engage in destructive activities, endangering wildlife and ecosystems. May is particularly perilous, as discarded beedi cigarettes in dry Tamil Nadu forests lead to fires and loss of life. Resorts in Kerala are fraught with danger, with horrifying experiences shared by many. “Manjummel Boys” not only justifies these disruptive individuals as representatives of the common man but also glorifies them, attempting to label them as martyrs and embodiments of friendship. The film’s conclusion, with one of them receiving a national award, contradicts legal norms and suggests a need for corrective measures. If “Manjummel Boys” serves to raise awareness about these disruptive gangs in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, it may encourage law enforcement to treat them unequivocally as criminals and discourage any form of support. Sometimes, their unfortunate predicaments may serve as a natural consequence, providing a deterrent and safeguarding our forests.”
