Udhaynidhi son as HERO / Trisha Australian Mapillai / Suriya in Europe

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s son, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi, recently took charge as CEO of Red Giant Movies, and now he is all set to make a grand debut as a hero in films. The Tamil media reports suggest that Mari Selvaraj will be directing this project, and he already directed Udhay Stalin’s final film, Maamannan, which also starred Vadivelu. Maamannan achieved big success and made a perfect farewell film for Udhayanidhi Stalin as hero, and now Mari Selvaraj takes another responsibility to launch his son, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi, as a hero. Meanwhile, the director is all set to release Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran, on this Diwali. About Inbanithi Udhayanidhi Born in 2004 in Chennai, Inbanithi Udhayanidhi studied at a private school and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree. As per the latest updates, Suriya46’s shooting is currently underway in the picturesque Eastern European country of Belarus. The makers have planned an action sequence on Suriya and a song in the crucial ongoing schedule. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, senior Tamil-Telugu actress Raadika Sarathkumar, and young Tamil actress Bhavani Sre play key roles in Suriya46, while Venky Atluri is directing this prestigious project. A possible clash of Karuppu VS D54 VS Arasan loading in April 2026 during Tamil New Year 2026. D54 will be likely postponed to Tamil New Year. The machete that STR is holding is the same machete that Senthil and Guna used to kill Rajan. My guess is Kumar (STR) is the long lost sibling of Rajan (Ameer) who is somewhere in India. After hearing the death news of Rajan, he takes the machete in his hands and would begin to kill all. Kumar then join hands with Anbu (Dhanush) and kill the remaining guys which will be Vadachennai 2. Powerful name for the currently most expected Tamil film. It’s set in the world of Vada Chennai, and is in a parallel timeline with Anbu’s story. Both characters (Anbu and Kumar) will meet together in VC2. The title is a great tribute to the Superstar film of the same name. Clean and simple. Interestingly, the literal meaning of Rajan is Arasan. Notice how the same knife that killed Rajan is now in STR’s hands. According to the original Vada Chennai script, he is likely playing a rugged college boy who is dragged into the world of North Madras after Rajan dies.

The entire shoot will end during the end of January 2026, to the beginning of February 2026. The film is on track to be released April 17, 2026, which falls on Tamil New Years.

Suriya Karuppu asks Big for OTT Deal / Sreeleela asks for cuts to Viral Vayyari on OTT

 Suriya’s film Karuppu with RJ Balaji, which has completed the entire shoot, and a teaser was also released by the makers. Because of the pending OTT deal, the film’s release date has not been announced. Reportedly, the makers are said to have quoted around 65 Cr, but the offers they got were around 45 Cr, as the director, RJ Balaji, does not have a big brand.

They are already working around the clock to improve his image and force him to attend all award shows, paying major magazines to feature him, and getting ongoing advice from reputable Hong Kong agencies, so they will somehow succeed in this story of positioning him as the next big thing. His portfolio as an assistant to ARR, Anirudh, and GVP, Magesh, who leads think indie, almost constantly posts about Sai Abhyankkar on an hourly basis, ensuring and paying foreign regional FMs to play Sai Abhyankkar records.

So why did not Ameen (AR Rahman son) and Nicholas (Harris Jayaraj son) grow to be as famous as Sai?

The simple answer is that they knew it would backfire, so they did not want to do that.

Until someone steps up and breaks his monopoly, Sai Abhyankkar will not realize that he is nothing more than a fake prodigy planted by avaricious individuals in the industry to maintain their monopoly.

Mark my words, I am not a prophet, but when there is a monopoly, there will be a strong force to break it. Someone will undoubtedly emerge from a non-musical background and challenge Sai Abhyankkar within the next 5 or 6 years.

Paid Negative reviews killed RETRO says Karthik / Thug Life 5th 100 cr / Vijayakanth son escapes Flop

 After Paid reviews to say positive aspects of a film, now Director Karthik Subburaj says that "I am fine woith critical reviews of a film. But this paid hatred and paid agenda to share negative reviews for a film... I just can't take that. " The Director was referring to his film Retro that he claimed was a blockbuster but in reality had just about scraped through. The Director had earlier thamked the media for good reviews and went on to announce a Rs 235 crore collection. It was silent on whether it was a theatrical collection but it turned out that it was inclusive of all earnings from theatre and non theatrical. The silver lining was that Suriya donated Rs 10 crore which he said was profit to his Charity Foundation.

A few days back a producer was seen in a video saying that his small film was not reviewed bya big reviewer who thinks that he is GOD as he could ask him to pay from the review. Irony was that this Producer was te pioneer to created a Twitter lobby of critics and industry watchers – trackers with the sole intention to give inflated box office figures for a set of producers that he advocated. The lobby that he created has now outgrown him amd become a rogue lobby.

He added that, when he went to the theatre to watch Retro with the audience they seemed to enjoy it. "Everyone who I spoke to liked the film, they told me they are confused as to why the film got negative reviews. This paid campaign is very dangerous and it is very shocking. "

Karthik Subbaraj stated that Suriya’s Retro will continue as a web series. The filmmaker revealed that he has plans to release his film as a web series by extending each phase of the film into an episode. Retro on OTT did not create any ripples .

The Late Vijayakant’s son Shanmuga Pandian starrer Tamil action film, Padai Thalaivan kickstarted in an impressive manner at the box office. However, on its 4th day it slumped but the theatre collection till date has recovered 80 % of the budget as it is around Rs 5-6 crores only. The OTT- TV and digital rights combined might pull the film to a no profit- loss situation.

The Shanmuga Pandian starrer opened at 1.29 crores which was not a very bad opening. However, on its second day, it saw a drop of around 5% and amassed 1.22 crores. But on the third day, the movie again saw a stellar growth of 43% and earned 1.75 crores.

Now, according to the early estimates in Sacnilk, the movie saw a crash of around 50%. It only garnered 87 lakhs which is the lowest day-wise collection for the film till now. The total India net collection of Padai Thalaivan 5.13 crore. Including the taxes, the gross collection comes to 6.05 crore.

Suriya- Vetrimaaran Vaadivaasal is ON / Rajini and Dhanush hears H Vinoth/ Dragon Again with AGS

 

• Vaadivaasal is not dropped, rumors are false. The animatronics had some delays and there were some budget issues, but shoot will begin from October-November. Will release next year. Suriya is in discussion with a film with director Jithu Madhavan who did Aavesham. It is produced by a Tamil company.

• Simbu’s immediate project is a dark gangster drama set in North Madras, directed by Vetrimaaran. There is a decent chance that this film is Vada Chennai 2, or is part of that world. The film shoot begins first week of July, and will get wrapped up around October. Releasing in December to February. Right after this Simbu will begin his project with Ashwath Marimuthu.

• Rajinikanth and Dhanush are in talks for seperate films with director H Vinoth. For the Dhanush project the producer is 7 Screen Studios. Hearing Vinoth is in a better head space now.

• Pradeep Ranganathan has signed two films with AGS. One of them is his second collaboration with Ashwath Marimuthu, and the other is one of his own direction. The film is a commercial Sci-Fi Super Hero subject, which the bound script is done. It isn’t decided if Pradeep will act in this film- AGS wants him to but Pradeep is reluctant.

The theatrical release of Bhool Chuk Maaf starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, has been cancelled after heightened security drills across India. The announcement, which was made by its makers a day ahead of the release, followed India’s Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan. The film will now premiere on OTT. Makers said that they had taken this decision keeping in mind nation’s priorities in mind.

The All India Cine Workers Association(AICWA) has issued a firm statement enforcing a complete ban on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and financiers working in the Indian cinema industry. This statement came immediately after Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Mawra Hocane, who have worked in Bollywood, criticized the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor.

AICWA strongly condemns the filmmakers, producers, and artists of the film Abir Gulal for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan despite the Pulwama attack, where several Indian soldiers were martyred. What message do such filmmakers want to convey? They even came to India to release this film, showing complete disregard for the nation’s sentiments. This is a disgrace to the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers.

The depiction of the Godhra incident from a secular viewpoint or in other words the victims were Muslims given shelter by a Hindu and the attackers were Hindus in L 2 Empuran seems to have caught the imagination of overseas Indian diaspora. The Film has set a benchmark for Malayalam filmdom in terms of overseas collections. This is the first film for Mollywood to cross $10Million and also 100 crore at the Overseas box office. This record also looks unbeatable and may remain untouched for long years.  The scripting of Murali Gopy combined with Prithviraj’s Direction and the ` shock marketing’ later yielded dividends overseas but not within India.

The film’s box office run was limited to Kerala and not outside. The final Indian tally shows that it has not collected enough to cover the investment from the ticket sales. On OTT too L 2 Empuran is not a great attraction. The controversial elements were later dited out by Director after a backlash on social media.

Suriya, who shared his love and chatted with his media friends for a long time at the event to thank the media for support given to Retro movie, took a photo with them. The media friends expressed their appreciation for actor Suriya. The film is produced by Stone Bench Films along with producers Jyothika and Surya under the banner of 2D Entertainment. Rajasekhar Karpoor Sundarapandyan and Karthikeyan Santhanam are co-producers.the film Retro, released on May 1st and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, has been receiving a great response from the audience and has set a record by collecting over 104 crores at the box office. In this context, Suriya has donated 10 crores from the profits of the film Retro to the Agaram Foundation.The film is produced by Stone Bench Films along with producers Jyothika and Surya under the banner of 2D Entertainment. Rajasekhar Karpoor Sundarapandyan and Karthikeyan Santhanam are co-producers.

Singer Jonita Gandhi has for first time sung and performed on screen for Tamil film Eleven. Andreah too has come on screen for a duet with composer Imman.

Helmed by Lokesh Ajls, Eleven is headlined by Naveen Chandra. D Imman is scoring music for the film, whose album will be release on April 29. Shruti Haasan has lent her voice to a full English track in a Tamil film – Devil is Waiting.

Amala Paul er is back in Chennai after quite some time. "Yes, but this time, I am back in Chennai for good. I have shifted my base to the city . I have also signed a Tamil project after Cadaver for Screen Scene Media Entertainment.

Ajith’s Next Film Announcement on his Birthday?

Ajith’s next film is not officially announced yet, but there is news that the update is coming on 1st May on the occasion of Ajith’s birthday. The buzz is that Ajith will be joining hands with Adhik Ravichandran, who directed Good Bad Ugly and is a huge AK fan.

The fans await as the countdown begins for Ajith’s next film announcement. If we observe his recent films, Ajith is working with the same director continuously. Directors like Siruthai Siva and H. Vinoth have worked on multiple projects with the star, and now it seems Adhik Ravichandran will join the list.

The fanboy Adhik Ravichandran showed Ajith with the best looks and presence, and fans have celebrated the film, and it has collected 230Cr+ gross worldwide till now. Even though it became Ajith’s biggest grosser, the film failed to show his full box office potential.

Suriya Retro No USA premiere / Kushboo 2.0 and Vijayshanthi legacy

 

As many of us were sitting shell shocked after seeing Kushboo new look with 20 kgs weight loss and it reminded me of hr during the Ravichandran film day and My dear Marthnandam , trollers say that she might have take drugs that diabetes afflicted people take and by this they lose weight . I latr heard she gave a blast at these spoilsports. I think a new 2.0 Kush is expected. Hubby Sundar’s Gangers trailor makes one wanting to see the film.  Yet to see the Telugu film Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi. Reason being Vijayashanthi returns to acting as a cop, a role she excelled in before. “Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi” has Vijayashanthi in the role of mother while Kalyan Ram plays her son. In her heyday, Vijayashanthi enjoyed the stardom equal to then-top stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, and Rajinikanth. She gained the tag of Lady Amitabh after the success of her portrayal of an IPS officer named Vyjayanthi in “Karthavyam,” which also earned her the National Award as Best Actress.

Just the other day, she said that her entire earnings are donated toa Trust named after her mother as she has no children. The Trust will be for welfare of children. Her jewellers have been given to the Tirupati Balaji’s hundi, she said.

Suriya- Kartihk Subburaj Retro has not so far listed anyUSA priemeres shows. This is asuprise as every Tamil film with a Star has an USA premiere and nobody loses the opportunity to make money. Apart from this Surya and Karthik has a fan following in Tamil and Telugu audience, the latter being the majority of the viewers abroad. The results and reviews from India are a pointer for USA ticket sales. Has Kanguva of Suriya affected Retro in USA ?

The audio of the film was launched . Santosh Narayanan scored the music. At the function Suriya thanked entire crew including leading lady Pooja Hegde who dubbed herself in Tamil.  He made a special mention –“ If our films have been screened in the northern states and have earned the love of the people there, the main reason for that is producer Jayanthilal Gada. I would like to express my gratitude to him at this moment.

Kamal Haasan - Lyca Again / Inside info on STR 49 - Suriya-/ Sivakarthikeyan- Pradeep clash

 

• Kamal Haasan's Hollywood to Silicon Valley trips are on Instagram. Back home, we told you that Kamal and Mani are meeting the Media on April 18 in the seaside Hotel in Chennai. Now we hear that Lyca after confirming the release of Indian 3 with help from Kamal and Shankar is happy that Uulaga … sorry KH has agreed to do a quickie action film on a limited budget. It has a two months shooting dates and rest for post production. Whether this is Anbiarivu project or a new one that he has scripted, no idea. We infer that it is a gesture from KH to Lyca to get back on their feet. We know that Rajinikanth had already committed a film to Lyca as a friendly gesture. We had told you about Jailer 2 shoot in Kerala. Jailer 2 will be released in April 2026. A 35-day schedule starts tomorrow.

  • Updates on  STR49 . This week STR is going to the saloon to get rid of his long hair and beard. He will be now be seen as the clean shaven vintage STR  will be playing a full-on college rowdy. You will see full gray shades in this role.  Mrunal Thakur and Santhanam are locked, and Kayadu Lohar is being discussed. December release- Pooja next week, along with the first single of Thug Life released during the last week of April. STR might make his clean shaven appearance with Thug Life on April 18^th. STR 49 is written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan who made his debut with the critically acclaimed thriller drama Parking in 2023.

    We had told about the impact about ARM’s Sikandar on his Tamil film Madharasi starring Sivakarthikeyan.( see https://southfilmy.blogspot.com/2025/04/siikandar-puts-sivakarthikeyan.html ). It seems after much thinking and arguments, it has been decided to release it on September 5^th. Now we hear that Pradeep Ranganathan’s LIK too is planning a September release. 30 days of shoot remains.

Mamitha Baiju is the love interest and this will be a pure love story and after a long time we will get to see him as an undiluted romantic. Shooting starts in June. After this the shoot of Vetrimaaran’s Vaadivaasal with Suriya begins. A melody song has already been composed. GVP scores the music.
