2018 hit in Andhra - A L Vijay film silent release on OTT - Kamal - Prabhas film not Project K
The Malayalam film 2018 released in Kerala created a sensation at the box office and became the highest-grossing film in the Mollywood industry. Due to its immense popularity, the movie was dubbed into other languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. The success of this film reaffirmed that the Telugu audience is the most supportive when it comes to appreciating good content, making it a lucrative deal for Telugu buyers.
The Telugu rights for the film were acquired at a relatively low price of around 1.25 Crores, inclusive of all expenses. However, within just 5 days, the movie grossed an impressive 6.4 Crores and earned a share exceeding 3 Crores. Trade circles anticipate that the film will continue to have a strong run during the second weekend as well. Overall, the 2018 Movie has proven to be a profitable venture for the buyers in the Telugu States.
Despite featuring a talented ensemble cast including Vishwak Sen, Rakul Preet Singh, Megha Akash, Manjima Mohan, and Prudhviraj (a Telugu actor), and being directed by Vijay, who has previously helmed notable films like Thalaivi, the movie BOO was quietly released on Jio Cinema without any significant promotion. It is currently available for streaming, and viewers who have watched it claim that it falls short in comparison to RGV's Darna Mana Hai, resembling a pale imitation. The production of BOO commenced during the second wave of the Covid pandemic. Additionally, A L Vijay is currently directing a film with Arun Vijay in the lead role.
The reports that Kamal haasan is play a baddie in Project K starring Prabhas is baseless. Kamal was approached by a bollywood company for a Prabhas film where both will share screen space as Ram Charan and NTR Jr in RRR. The director is not Nag Ashwin and once Kamal confirms, the production company will send the director to narrate the subject. Raj Kamal banner through this project will be making Bollywood rentry as co- producer.

Udhaynidhi Stalin film linked to Dhanush Karnan ? - Mani- Big B clash - Tovino said no to 2018
Is Mari Selvaraj's latest film, Maamannan, part of a cinematic universe similar to Lokesh Kanagaraj's (consisting of Kaithi and Vikram)? This question arose following a tweet that drew attention to a tattoo on Vadivelu's hand in the film's poster, which resembles the character played by Malayalam actor Lal in Dhanush's Karnan. The character, called Yema Raja or Thattha, commits suicide at a crucial point in the film, and his photo is seen on the walls of the village community hall in the ending scene. The previous poster for Maamannan featured Udhyanidhi Stalin holding a sword and Vadivelu holding a gun.
Mani Ratnam had announced the film Raavan starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai following the success of Guru. In the Tamil version, Vikram played the role of Junior Bachchan. In his upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan, Vikram will portray Aditya Karaikalan, a significant Chola Emperor. Recently, an old interview of Mani Ratnam resurfaced on Reddit where he addressed Amitabh Bachchan's comment on the uneven editing in Raavan which, according to him, caused a lack of coherence in the storyline. Despite this criticism, Mani Ratnam refused to take pointers from Amitabh Bachchan, stating that he didn't pay attention to everything that people say.
Although the devastating Kerala floods affected over half of the state's population, many Malayalam industry celebrities offered their support to the victims. Tovino Thomas, who was actively involved in flood relief efforts in his hometown, expressed concerns about accepting a role in the film "2018," due to the negative feedback he received on social media, which caused him to be labeled as a "flood star." However, the director, Jude Anthany, convinced him to take the part, explaining why he believed Tovino was perfect for the role. Despite his initial hesitation, Tovino accepted the role because he found the character and the storyline intriguing, and the screenplay impressive. "2018" features other notable actors such as Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, and Aparna Balamurali and was originally released in Malayalam on May 5, but has since been made available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, with the most recent release on May 12.
