Karuppu VS D54 VS Arasan - April 2026

A possible clash of Karuppu VS D54 VS Arasan loading in April 2026 during Tamil New Year 2026. D54 will be likely postponed to Tamil New Year. The machete that STR is holding is the same machete that Senthil and Guna used to kill Rajan. My guess is Kumar (STR) is the long lost sibling of Rajan (Ameer) who is somewhere in India. After hearing the death news of Rajan, he takes the machete in his hands and would begin to kill all. Kumar then join hands with Anbu (Dhanush) and kill the remaining guys which will be Vadachennai 2. Powerful name for the currently most expected Tamil film. It’s set in the world of Vada Chennai, and is in a parallel timeline with Anbu’s story. Both characters (Anbu and Kumar) will meet together in VC2. The title is a great tribute to the Superstar film of the same name. Clean and simple. Interestingly, the literal meaning of Rajan is Arasan. Notice how the same knife that killed Rajan is now in STR’s hands. According to the original Vada Chennai script, he is likely playing a rugged college boy who is dragged into the world of North Madras after Rajan dies.

STR appears terrific in his vintage mullet hairstyle, and the retro outfit. The most commercial film of Vetrimaaran. The bound script has been finished and narrated to great responses. An Anirudh Musical + Samantha in talks.

The shoot of the film begins on October 16-17. This first schedule will consist of massive critical and action sequences for the product, and will feature many from the Vada Chennai cast. To inaugurate the launch of the schedule, the plan is to release the promotional video around then. It was submitted to the censor board recently, and is currently being reviewed over. The un-censored version has been shared to many industry folk (Ex. Ram, Harish Kalyan, Mysskin, Kavin, Mr. D, Dinesh, Samantha, Anurag Kashyap, etc), to terrific responses all over. Anirudh Ravichandar is mostly signed for the project, as GV Prakash was kicked out due to him asking for a massive salary. The second schedule of the film will feature romantic portions with the yet to be signed heroine. Samantha is the only actress in talks so far, with her liking the bound script, but not signing yet. The entire shoot will end during the end of January 2026, to the beginning of February 2026. The film is on track to be released April 17, 2026, which falls on Tamil New Years.

Kamal - AnbuArivu adds Syam Pushkaran / STR Projects UPDATE / SK For PONGAL

The announcement was made with a picture in which Syam Pushkaran is seen standing next to Kamal Haasan, with Anbariv are also seen in it. "#KH237 Roar Begins with #SyamPushkaran #KamalHaasan #ActioninAction A Film By @anbariv" read the caption.

Syam Pushkaran made his debut with Salt N' Pepper co-written with Dileesh Nair. He has written screenplays for popular films such as 22 Female Kottayam, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Mayaanadhi, and Kumbalangi Nights and Joji. He also served as co-director and wrote the dialogues for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017). Syam Pushkaran won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for Maheshinte Prathikaram at the 64th National Film Awards (2016).

Simbu two projects are in limbo is  the talk. The film directed by Ramkumar, a college subject with Kayadu Lohar and Santhanam and produced by Dawn Pictures is uncertain as no progress has been made. Producer Bhaskaran has been asking for a refund says a report. Another project is with Dragon fame Director Ashwath. Here Ashwath  says that it was he who delayed the writing as after Dragon , he was spending quality time with family. Now he has promised to speeden up and adds= "The adrenaline rush that you witnessed in Dragon and the love that you felt in Oh My Kaduvule will be seen in this film. At the same time, the Simbu that you saw during his peak years in films like Kuthu, Dum and Manmadhan will be seen here in a movie that satisfies all audience."

STR ahs put all the projects on hold as he moved to Vetrimaaran

The makers of Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Sudha Kongara, have announced that the movie will hit theatres on January 14, targeting the Pongal holiday.

The announcement was made with a video featuring glimpses of Siva and Ravi Mohan.

The final schedule of Parasakthi commenced early in August after a delay caused by the ED raids at the sites related to the film's production company, Dawn Pictures, due to money laundering charges. Set in the 1960s, the film will revolve around the events that led to the anti-Hindi agitation against the then-ruling Congress party.

Parasakthi also stars Atharvaa and Sreeleela in crucial roles, with the latter marking her Tamil debut.

They are already working around the clock to improve his image and force him to attend all award shows, paying major magazines to feature him, and getting ongoing advice from reputable Hong Kong agencies, so they will somehow succeed in this story of positioning him as the next big thing. His portfolio as an assistant to ARR, Anirudh, and GVP, Magesh, who leads think indie, almost constantly posts about Sai Abhyankkar on an hourly basis, ensuring and paying foreign regional FMs to play Sai Abhyankkar records.

As long as they have a respectable background, all of these talent agencies and label deals look for the ideal nepo kid, regardless of whether they are ARR or HJ kids.

So why did not Ameen (AR Rahman son) and Nicholas (Harris Jayaraj son) grow to be as famous as Sai?

The simple answer is that they knew it would backfire, so they did not want to do that.

Until someone steps up and breaks his monopoly, Sai Abhyankkar will not realize that he is nothing more than a fake prodigy planted by avaricious individuals in the industry to maintain their monopoly.

Mark my words, I am not a prophet, but when there is a monopoly, there will be a strong force to break it. Someone will undoubtedly emerge from a non-musical background and challenge Sai Abhyankkar within the next 5 or 6 years.

Suriya- Vetrimaaran Vaadivaasal is ON / Rajini and Dhanush hears H Vinoth/ Dragon Again with AGS

 

• Vaadivaasal is not dropped, rumors are false. The animatronics had some delays and there were some budget issues, but shoot will begin from October-November. Will release next year. Suriya is in discussion with a film with director Jithu Madhavan who did Aavesham. It is produced by a Tamil company.

• Simbu’s immediate project is a dark gangster drama set in North Madras, directed by Vetrimaaran. There is a decent chance that this film is Vada Chennai 2, or is part of that world. The film shoot begins first week of July, and will get wrapped up around October. Releasing in December to February. Right after this Simbu will begin his project with Ashwath Marimuthu.

• Rajinikanth and Dhanush are in talks for seperate films with director H Vinoth. For the Dhanush project the producer is 7 Screen Studios. Hearing Vinoth is in a better head space now.

• Pradeep Ranganathan has signed two films with AGS. One of them is his second collaboration with Ashwath Marimuthu, and the other is one of his own direction. The film is a commercial Sci-Fi Super Hero subject, which the bound script is done. It isn’t decided if Pradeep will act in this film- AGS wants him to but Pradeep is reluctant.

Trisha Krishnan’s Fee For Thug Life

The lead actress, Trisha Krishnan, has reportedly received Rs 12 crore for her role, as per Daily Jagran. This amount is said to be 3 times higher than her fees for the Ajith Kumar-led film Good Bad Ugly. Trisha and Kamal Haasan’s pairing in the film was also criticized over the age gap between the two actors.

Silambarasan, aka STR, was paid Rs 40 crore, whereas Ashok Selvan and Joju George were paid Rs 1 crore. Abhirami was paid Rs 50 lakhs.

Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have reportedly not received separate paycheques for their work as they have jointly produced the film and will likely take their share from the profits. Thus, the total cast fee amounts to Rs 53.5 crores. The fees for actors Rohit Saraf and Ali Fazal are not yet known.

Lowest-grossing film for Kamal Haasan since Vishwaroopam II?

The latest Kollywood action drama is turning out to be Kamal Haasan‘s lowest-grossing film in the last 7 years. In 2018, his Vishwaroopam II earned between 46 and 48 crore gross globally. After that, Thug Life has amassed the lowest score for him.

From here, Thug Life might cross the 100 crore mark, but won’t cover much distance. It is heading for a lifetime collection of below 110 crores. • This script has been in discussions with STR and Ratnam even before Thug Life, and they plan on launching it in mid-2026.
• The film is an out and out Love Story. Rahman has been roped in no surprise here.
• Ratnam is going to do a Tamil-Telugu bilingual love story film with Naveen Pollishetty, while Simbu wraps up his commitments.
• They plan on releasing this film in late 2027. It is not a big budget film.
•

Confirmed STR Projects

STR49 - Ramkumar Balakrishnan & Dawn:

• Shoot begins from June 16th, primarily happening inside a college.
• Simbu plays a college rowdy, and Santhanam has been roped in as the second lead. STR will be sporting shorter hair and a clean shave.
• The shoot stretches for 60 days and the film will get wrapped up with this.
• All songs are completed but vocals need to be recorded.
• They have locked in the Christmas 2025 date and are working towards it.

STR50 - Ashwath Marimuthu & AGS:

• Shoot begins from early September this year, and updates will flow in from August.
• The screenplay and dialogue work is in full flow and will be completed in Late July.
• The story is not a remake/adaptation, and Ashwath has made sure that it doesn’t have any similarities in terms of arcs and beats to his previous films.
• The heroine has been locked along with a few other cast members. Mrunal Thakur seems to be their choice, but this could also be false.
• The film will be released in June 2026; STR wants to release it on the 6th, as then all parts of the date align with the number 6- his Manmadhan number.

STR51 - Desingh Periyasamy & STR:

• The pilot promotional shoot for this film has been happening since the start of May, and it likely that it has almost been finished.
• They are looking to release this promotional video in early July to space it away from Thug Life release. It has also a lot of VFX and musical work towards it.
• This project has been pitched to AGS to co-produce with Simbu, and they have struck the following deal. If the STR51 team shows the completed pilot video to Netflix and they agree to buy the film, AGS will join in. If not they will discuss another plan.
• Shooting for this film is likely to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Simbu will grow his long hair again for this, so wig rumors aren’t true.
• Simbu plays the hero and villain in this periodic film. It will be different from other period films, it is purely character driven and features unique dance and action. He has been personally trained for these segments.
• The team is planning for a Pongal 2027 release, which they plan to announce in the promotional video in July.

 

 

 

THUG LIFE TRAILOR;; Kamal seduces Trisha - liplock with Abhirami - No VTV Jodi ?

 Thug Life trailor has thrown anew surprise – Trisha comes with Kamal Haasan and not STR as expected. Here again Kamal is shown to be seducing Trisha and at the same time, he grabs Abhirami and has a liplock. So is Kamal a womanizer ? Is Trisha leading him on for a reason ? Is the Trisha – Kamal relationship the flash point for the clash with STR ?

The son STR character is an adopted one is what we can gather and that Naazar could be his Thalapathy who is angry with adopted son given the major role. Joju George comes firing but could be the rival gangster or is he the Hitman – bodyguard of Kamal ?

Most important question is who is the baddie ? Is Ashok Selvan the cop who is playing a sakunni ? Or is STR the bad guy. Kamal said that he goes underground for a while and is taken to be dead and come back to take his sweet revenge – on whom ? Looks like STR who send him underground ?.

Intriquing is the one word summary. Another notable absence is the song or romance element. The focus now is the kis in the trailor. Some said that Kamal was kissing Trisha and not Abhirami. Read reactions : One user commented, "Doing such scenes for his age with heroines who were almost half his age is not at all normal and usual." However, another used defended the scene and said, "This s the problem with us .. taking and focusing on kiss scenes and intimate scenes out of entire trailer .... it seems normal nd usual .. stop giving too much focus."

Kamal Haasan - Lyca Again / Inside info on STR 49 - Suriya-/ Sivakarthikeyan- Pradeep clash

 

• Kamal Haasan's Hollywood to Silicon Valley trips are on Instagram. Back home, we told you that Kamal and Mani are meeting the Media on April 18 in the seaside Hotel in Chennai. Now we hear that Lyca after confirming the release of Indian 3 with help from Kamal and Shankar is happy that Uulaga … sorry KH has agreed to do a quickie action film on a limited budget. It has a two months shooting dates and rest for post production. Whether this is Anbiarivu project or a new one that he has scripted, no idea. We infer that it is a gesture from KH to Lyca to get back on their feet. We know that Rajinikanth had already committed a film to Lyca as a friendly gesture. We had told you about Jailer 2 shoot in Kerala. Jailer 2 will be released in April 2026. A 35-day schedule starts tomorrow.

The actor continued, "So, when we worked out things and looked at the possibility of cutting down the scale, we realised it would become a problem if the film doesn't come out the way we intend to bring it out as audiences do not know what all we undergo while making a film. We have to deliver." Explaining that it was under these circumstances that director Desingh and he went to meet Kamal sir, Simbu said, "We requested him (to let us take over) and he agreed. We need to thank him for that." "Irrespective of whom we take this film too, there will be a risk factor for them. So, when we decided to do it ourselves. When we were able to make that decision was when cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa came into this project and took a look at it and we had a discussion," Simbu informed before going on say that none of the team members had taken any money so far for this project. "You won't believe it. I am talking about the entire team from Manoj sir, Yuvan sir or be it the editor. Not a single person has taken a penny as fee for this film. In fact, we haven't even signed agreements with any of them. People coming together to make a project happen will happen in the case of small films. Vrusshabha made on a mega budget, starring lalettan Mohanlal, has officially wrapped filming. The final schedule, which took place in Mumbai, marked the completion of this ambitious project, and the cast and crew commemorated the occasion with a grand cake-cutting ceremony. With production now complete, the film enters post-production, with industry leading visual effects, editing, and sound Written and Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nanda Kishore and presented by Connekkt Media and Balaji Telefilms . The film has been made on a mega budget to ensure that Vrusshabha pushes the boundary on cinematic excellence. Scheduled for a grand Diwali 2025 release, Vrusshabha will hit screens in five languages—Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.

STR on his birthday announced that his 50th film will be produced by him and directed by Desiangh as director and Manoj Paramhamsa as cameraman. STR's 50th film, which was supposed to be undertaken by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International Films, will now be bankrolled by Atman Cine Arts. STR's 49th film was announced at midnight today. Bankrolled by Dawn Pictures, STR 49 will be helmed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan of 'Parking' fame. He also has a film with Ashwath Marimuthu in his pipeline, bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.

If anybody think that Netflix is angry with Nayanthara for having taken them for a ride with the wedding documentary, then it is not so. After acting in films like “Mahanati,” “Sita Ramam,” and “Lucky Bhaskar,” Dulquer Salmaan has become quite sought-after in Telugu, and the pan-Indian Malayalam star is continuing to sign Telugu films that have unique scripts. “Aakasam Lo Oka Tara,” starring Dulquer Salmaan, commenced production with a pooja ceremony. The film’s pooja ceremony was held on Sunday in Hyderabad, which saw the attendance of the lead star, director Pavan Sadineni, and producers Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam. “Aakasam Lo Oka Tara” is presented by Allu Aravind and Ashwini Dutt, and they also attended the ceremony. Heroine Satvika Veeravalli, an Indian-origin techie based out of the USA is making her debut with the film.

Tovino and Korean Lalettan as baddies- Mammootty - GVM- Dulquer - STR in news

Tovino Thomas is all set to make his Kannada debut in Geethu Mohandas directed film Toxic with Yash as leading man. Tovino plays the baddie.You might have known that Kiara Advani is playing sister to Yash in the film and the leading lady is Nayanthara and Huma Qureshi. There is a 200 day shooting schedule that includes a stint in London. The 10th film of Yash and one after KGR 2 coming after almost two years after the last release, the film has evoked a lot of response from Yash fans. This is also first production from Yash. Already a schedule was shot in March. Unconfirmed reports said that Kareena Kapoor and Shruti Haasan are part of the film. Film is about a drug cartel that is operating in Goa. KVN Productions are co-producers. Yash is committed to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan and he plays Ravan.

Ban threat on Thug Life of Kamal - Mani - Fahadh Kannada dialogues a hit

Thug Life is facing a twin pronged attack from Producers Council. A group from Council executive met Kamal Haasan and told him that he is bound to do another film for Lingusamy banner to compensate for the loss of Utthama Villain. Kamal who in writing agreed to do a film for Thirupathy Brothers in a letter given by Chandra Haasan dated nine years back is told to give an assurance when the project will start. Usually if the person does not agree to honour the Council order, a non cooperation will be issued to all trade bodies The actor’s film will face issues in distribution and during shooting. Film Employees Federation will not take part in shooting. Ishari Ganesh of Vels International has asked Council and Federation that they issue a non cooperation order to all trade bodies as Simbhu aka STR is part of Thug Life. He says that STR who took money to do a three film as part of a deal and did only one film instead. Vels wants his money back and till then no STR film should be released. This means Thug Life will not be released till STR pays up Vels. In short, Thug Life is facing issues due to Kamal Haasan and STR. The film is produced by Kamal and Mani Ratnam banners.

Manjumel Boys film has landed those policemen who were on duty at Kodaikanal when the actual Boys visited the Guna caves.
