SRK opts out of Rajinikanth film - Indian 2 - Ganguva postponed

Thalaivar 171 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is facing a major hitch as a particular role that is very vital but not a full length one needs some with a Stardom. Initially Mammooty was the choice but now it turns out that the Mega Star did not figure in the list. Lokesh is looking for a Star who has not paired with Rajinikanth so far . Mammooty said that maybe Lokesh might be toying with the idea to cast him but so far no one has approached him. He added that if there is a suitable role then he would accept. The recent buzz is that Lokesh called on SRK. Since SRK has done cameos before, he should be interested. SRK said no for two reasons. One was that he had decided not to do cameos. Secondly he said that there is a possibility of him starring with Thalapathy Vijay in an Atlee film and so did not want to do a cameo in a straight Tamil film. Who next ? The next choice is Salman Khan but Rajini has suggested Akshay Kumar with whom he worked in 2.0, a all time trend setter and highest box office grosser. As 2023 comes to an end Rajinikanth stands as the only non Telugu hero to make bo office register huge collections with Jailer figures. The Telugu version alone collected Rs 100 crores gross world wide and within two Telugu speaking States it collected Rs 85 crores. Dil Raju and Asian Studios bought it for Rs 13 crores. Even Vijay’s Leo was able to get this figures.

Latest buzz in Kollywood is that Indian 2 and Ganguva that were to come in January 2024 has shifted to August – September. Reason being that CG works are not going to be ready by then and some that has been done has gone back for correction. These film aimed for Pongal and Republic Day holidays. Now they are looking towards Independence Day and Ganesh festival. Thug Life decoded and Kamal B'Day - Did Latha Rajinikanth like LeoDisaster post ?

Is Kamal – Mani combo film Thug Life a sequel to classic Nayakan ? Is this  film inspired by Rise of Skywalkers or is it Sisu ? The poster has a poetry written on it and can be read with a help of mirror as the poster contains mirror image. Looking at the images in the video Kamal attire suggests that he is an Yakuza the term used in Japanese for a gangster. Pichakaran 2 released this year is a big hit and his Kolai is streaming on OTT.

Mark Antony is the first film in career of Vishal to touch the Rs 50 crore mark in 4 days of Tamil Box office. In Telugu however it has collected only Rs 6 crores. Usually all Sun Pictures movies come on NetFlix but this Jailer is streaming on Amazon Prime and date id September 7th.

The court asked the producers to remove the scene from the film and not have it on any medium of transmission. Now the Supreme Court in yesterday order gave permission to Ad Bureau to proceed against the gurantor as the producer has been sentenced to six months jail by Chennai Trial court for a cheque bounce case.

Jailer starring Rajinikanth has not beaten opening day collection record in Tamil Nadu but tops Worldwide collections is what one could gather from the box office figures put out by reliable trade analysts and trade sites. Yet another surprise is that on Friday, the second day there was a marginal fall in home State. As from Saturday to Monday are holidays, the film is expected soar as media and social media have largely liked the film. After two days the film has 75 crores collection worldwide. First day in Tamil Nadu was Rs 29 crores and second day Rs 20 crores. Ironically Beast directed by Nelson (who is also director of Jailer )with Vijay opened to Rs 38 crores and Ajith’s Thunivu collected Rs 2 crores less. Vijay Varisu life time collection US marker was $1,141,590 while Jailer opening day alone is $1,158,000. Sri Lanka reported Rs 2 crores opening. In two Telugu States , Jailer saw no drop on second day and posted a Rs 9.5 crore distributor share in two days and will break even by Saturday as it needs to collect Rs 12 crore. This feat is remarkable as on second day Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar released. Vedhalam remake Bhola Shankar is not a cringe film like Tamil - Chiru Director

Meher Ramesh justifying the cringe scenes featuring Chiranjeevi in Bhola Shankar trailer said that the original Tamil Vedhalam has ten time more cringe scenes and he had not much of them as had modified the screenplay and included more action as the Tamil film was centered around brother and sister relationship. The Jailor railor has no Tammanah and now the speculation is that her role has been cut and Nelson who directs the film says that Mohanlal, Sivarajkumar and others look and character is kept a surprise, Jackie Shroff dialogue that says you have him as only the father of a police officer, I have seen his other side reveals the plot. Many feel that shots in trailor resemble Beat, Badsha and Vikram films.

According to sources close to Telugu producer Dil Raju , Ram Charan film Game Changer directed by Shankar will come out before Indian 2 starring Kamal Haasan. Both films are directed by Shankar. Raju has said that Game Changer has no great VFX and so as soon as last leg of shooting is wrapped up , it can be readied for release. Indian 2 has lot of VFX and other technology to be used and for this Shankar himself posted a tweet that he is working in a Los Angles studio and he is said to be working on getting the remaining footage to make a third part. Raju says that already the film has gone overbudget and to keep Game Changer waiting for Indian 2 is not fair. It is up to Shankar to decide. Mammootty was to play villain in Rajini's Jailer and Amrin in big South films

Mammootty had agreed to play the villain in Jailer . This revelation was made by Nelson to the person sitting nearby at the audio launch when Rajinikanth without mentioning the name talked about a top actor being finalized for the role and how it got changed. Rajinikanth was told by Director Nelson that if this actor was cast as villain, then it would be good and asked him to give a phone call and put forth the offer as he is a good friend. He spoke to the actor and told him about the role and told him that it was ok if he did not want to play a baddie. He said that Rajini if u say that I should do then I will do it and asked Nelson to move forward. Later Rajini felt that it did not look good if he beats the actor and Nelson too felt same way. He then told him so and finally the search ended with Vinayakan. 26 years back Rajanikanth and Mammootty has acted in Thalapathy. According to Mumbai Mirror, the duo have agreed to act in a Marathi film directed by debutant Deepak Bhave’s Pasaayadan. Producer-politician Balkrishna Surve - responsible for bringing Thalaiva on-board - would be producing and presenting the film. Rajini was all praise for co- actor Mohanlal. He described him as a wonderful human being. Nelson said that Mohanlal accepted the role as he said that he did not want to miss the opportunity to act with Rajinikanth. Amrin who debuted in Rajkumar Santhoshi film Bad Boys has signed four big production houses films in the South. Studio Green and Price Pictures in Tamil , SrVenakteswara and Tagore Madhu in Hyderabad. Studio Green is currently producing a big film titled 'Surya 42' in which Surya is playing the lead role. Was the Mallikapuram film ignored for a State Award in Kerala due to its alleged propagation of Hindu religion by the Left Government? Alternatively, could it have been overlooked because the film's hero, Unni Mukundan, met PM Modi during his recent visit to Kochi? Despite being a blockbuster hit and garnering praise for the child actor's performance, Devananda, the film didn't receive an award. Director Viji Thampi, who is associated with Viswa Hindu Parishad, stated that during his time as a member of the National awards jury the previous year, there was no interference from the Ministry. This year, the State jury received a pre-determined list of award winners. Interestingly, Devananda also acted in another successful film in 2018. Furthermore, the Kerala film jury had BJP leader Gautami, who is also the Chairperson of the Regional Censor Board, as one of its members.

Director Vinayan, the founder President of MACTA (Kerala Cine Technicians Association), expressed his opposition to the FEFSI's call for using only Tamil actors in Tamil films. In response, he suggested halting the release of Tamil films in Kerala. Vinayan clarified that although he has great respect for the Tamil film industry, and has even directed Tamil films like "Kasi" featuring Vikram, he believes FEFSI's stance goes against the principles of federalism and unity as one nation. He acknowledged that the call for using only Tamil actors in Tamil films has garnered support from various quarters, and in Kerala, there is no objection from the State Government or any film trade body. Regarding his film "19 Noothand," which received three State awards, some criticism arose, suggesting that the film, based on a historical character that brought about social changes, deserved better recognition. In response, Vinayan mentioned that he did not anticipate receiving these awards and expressed gratitude to Chalchitra Academy Chairman Ranjith for the recognition.

Director Shankar has commenced the post-production work of Indian 2. According to internal reports, computer-generated imagery (CG) has been utilized not only for the late actors Nedumudi Venu and Vivek but also to depict Kamal Haasan's character, Senapathi, as a 30-year-old in the movie. CG has been employed in various Hindi films as well, such as "Dhoni: The Untold Story" to portray the childhood days of actor Sushanth, "Lal Singh Chaddha" featuring Aamir Khan, and "Fan" starring Shah Rukh Khan.
