Vijay Sethupathi enters Rs 200 cr club / Viduthalai franchise makes Rs 100 cr profit

Vijay Sethupathi ( VJS)  becomes the sixth actor from Kollywood to join the 200 Crore club after Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay , Ajith & Siva Karthikeyan. 

Maharaja grosses ₹200 Crore worldwide as Last show in China screened today

Maharajas China collections as of yesterday night stood at ₹91.83 Crore in the Mainland and ₹ 199.56 Crore worldwide

However under Chinese rules - the minimum estimated run of the film was 78.71 Million Yuan and the State pays the difference in final collection and minimum estimated run to the movie

So this means Maharajas final collection will stand at 78.71 Million Yuan or ₹92.48 Crore

This takes the total gross to ₹ 200.21 Crore. The Film however will be unable to join the exclusive $ 11 Million Club in China - missing by just $ 206,000

Sivakarthikeyan or STR for BB Tamil - Vijay Sethupathi is OTT hot favourite

It’s not official but will be. Simbu aka Silambarasan STR #Atman or Sivakarthikeyan will be new Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 host. Our BB trackers say that before Kamal Haasan issued the signed letter, he and Banijay, the Producers of BB show had a talk about the next replacement.. We all know that STR is signed for a film with Rajkamal banner. It will start sometime in March next year as STR is soon to sign a mega project. Details later. Sivakarthikeyan film Amaran with RajKamal is releasing next month. Kamal and Mahendran co- producer Turmeric Media had said that STR or Sivakarthikeyan are good choices. STR already hosted BB Ultimate and got good response. So Banijay is comfortable with STR.

However information that we got was that R Mahendran has asked Banijay to seriously consider Sivakarthikeyan for BB host. R Mahendran, ex VP Star Vijay and co – producer of Sivakarthikeyan film Amaran and Thug Life has put forth this idea. It seems that Mahendran and SK friendship dates back to the days when the latter was a participant in reality show Kalakaai Poovathu Yaar. Apart from this SK and Director Atlee are friends and former had worked in latter’s short films Mugaputhagam. Atlee and Mahendran are cousins. Turmeric Media of Mahendran is partner to RajKamal films ventures. For one day at BB sets for the 100 days of the show, Kamal was reportedly paid Rs 150 crores. So SK should get at least Rs 100 crores ? SK’s Amaran is releasing on September 27 and has Sai Pallavi in it. Also there is a report that Lokesh Kanagaraj will play a pivotal role in SK film with Sudha Kongara.

Viduthalai 2 is most expected film now. For one it is a Vetrimaaran directorial and secondly it has Vijay Sethupathi. Till the other day, it was because it has Soori whose Garudan is a hit. Now Maharaja has changed all this. Film is a Rs 100 crore film and for Sethupathy a first. After streaming on Netflix, for four weeks in a row, the film rated among the top ten non-English films globally. Maharaja movie has got 15.5 million views and 36.4 million watch hours to date. Our Kerala box office guy informs that Vaika has got Kerala theatrical rights. It has Manju Warrier in main role.
