Faria Abdullah known to Telugu moviegoers has been cast as heroine in Jason Sanjay directorial debut.Fariq Abdullah is Sanjay Jason heroine. She played an artiste in a drama troupe in director Suseenthiran’s action thriller ‘Valli Mayil’, featuring actor Vijay Antony in the lead.Talking to the media, director Suseenthiran disclosed, “I was impressed by Faria’s dancing abilities and chose to cast her in the title role of this film. She plays a drama artiste in this film through which I am introducing her here in Tamil.”

Review from a guy who saw the film and plus - minus Decent movie. Second half is again monotonous . Story reminds us Khaidi and recent kannada movie max. All story happens in single night with thrill elements laced around. Mass and thrill elements work very well and whole set up is done nicely in first half. Vikram character design though done nice is little bit unconvincing in second half. Twists were executed well with all characters and SJ Surya in middle of action and make it even more fun to watch. According to my friend they disturbed the flow with unnecessary melodrama which derails the film slightly. Overall - A decent comeback from Vikram. Nice but could have been better had they reduced heavy melodrama.

Jason Sanjay’s first directorial film’s hero Sundeep Kishan film Mazaka in Telugu flopped badly. After the flop of “Mazaka,” Sundeep Kishan will struggle to land more movies. He is acting in two web series, though. He will play a key role in “The Family Man 3” (Amazon Prime) and “Subbu” (Netflix).

After 10 years, Mohanlal and Suriya will clash at the Kerala box office. Lal’s Thudarum is set for May1 release and so is Retro of Suriya. After Vijay, Suriya has most fans in Kerala. In 2014, Lal’s Peruchazhi and Suriya’s Anjaan clashed but it was Prithviraj Saptamashri Thaskara that released along with it that won. Lal and Suriya together worked in Kappan but it did only average box office in Kerala.

Laila, Vishwak Sen’s latest film, was released on this Valentine’s Day, and it ended up as a big failure, The film is set to stream on 7th March on Aha. Chhaava OTT streaming details are out, as the sensational blockbuster is arriving on Netflix on 11th April in all languages. Dragon will be Streaming from March 28th in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam & Kannada on Netflix. The sensational blockbuster is still going strong in theatres and has collected around 120 Cr till now. Akhil in the lead role and the film and with Mammootty , directed by Surender Reddy, is arriving on OTT. The film will be available for streaming from 14th March, according to the official announcement of Sony Liv.

It has come to light that Big ticket film Producers in Tamil have opted to take the deal offered by OTT platforms and in turn sacrifice a nationwide release in North India. SRK Jawan box office in South India is one of the highest for a Hindi film and Rajinikanth’s Jailor total collection from Hindi was only Rs 7 crores ! Tamil version collected Rs 264 crores and made a record of sorts. Now the same is happening for Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo as they have cliched a deal with NetFlix and got a price bigger than Pushpa 2. Probing further, it turns out that Pushpa 2 is going for a nationwide release as the first part was a hit nationally. Upcountry national chain of theatres will not pick up films that have a deal with OTT platforms for a 4th week streaming rights from the date of release. Sun Pictures struck a deal with Amazon for streaming from 30th day of release and so multiplex chains in North India did not pick it up and so the film had only limited theatres. Now Leo too faces this fate . National chains want 8 week gap for OTT to stream and trade feels that Tamil producers are losing the Hindi market by not waiting for 8 weeks, Jailer received good reviews in Hindi and upcountry media and had the potential to get more money and expand the market, In contrast, Telugu producers of Star films of Prabhas- Ally Arjun – Ram Charan and NTR Jr do not sign the 4 week deal. It has to be seen whether Kamal Indian 2 produced by Lyca will opt for a 8 week window and tap Hindi belt ?

Thalapathy son to direct Uppena remake ? Dhanush- NTR Jr in Vetrimaaran's next

 

Is Thalapathy Vijay's son, Jasan Sanjay, going to direct the Tamil remake of the Telugu film Uppena, or will he make his debut as the hero in this remake? These are the questions that are currently circulating, as Mythiri Movie Makers, the film's producers, have informed another production house that the remake rights cannot be sold because Vijay Sethupathi and Vijay have requested that they not be sold. It is unlikely that Vijay will act in this Telugu remake, as it did not fetch a good price in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Jasan had previously declined an offer to act in a film by Alphonse Puthran, saying he was more interested in working behind the camera.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Krithi Shetty and Vijay Sethupathy will be playing the lead roles in the remake, with Sethupathy potentially producing the film, pending Jasan's approval.

Uppena, which was directed by Buchi Babu and starred Panja Vaisshnav Tej and Kirthi Shetty, was a debut film for both the director and lead actor. Despite criticisms of its portrayal of masculinity, violence, and the treatment of casteism and honor killings, the film was a commercial success, earning Rs 80 crores on a budget of Rs 15 crores. Till then Ram Charan’s debut film Chirutha hold the record for a debutant highest opening. Uppena beat that record Vijay reportedly blocked the remake rights well before he began work on Beast, and Vijay Sethupathi had given a token advance, suggesting that Mythiri and Sethupathi will jointly produce the film.

Vetrimaaran next with Dhanush

According to Cameraman Velraj, who has collaborated with director Vetri Maaran in the past, it has been revealed that Dhanush and the director are set to work together for the fifth time. Velraj has previously worked with Dhanush on two films, namely "Vellaillla Patthdhari" and "Thangamagan". Reliable sources suggest that the project will commence after the release of "Vidhuthala 2", and it has also been reported that NTR Jr will be joining the cast. So has Vaadivaasal with Suriya postponed ? .'Viduthalai Part 1' is to be dubbed in Telugu, and the dubbed version is gearing up to release in theatres on April 14. It is released by Allu Aravind.
