  Legendary actresses Sharmila Tagore and Rakhee Gulzar have made a grand return to the industry, not in nostalgic cameos but as the central protagonists of major upcoming films. Sharmila Tagore, whose last Bengali film was Antaheen in 2009, marks her comeback with Puratawn, directed by Suman Ghosh and produced by the National award-winning actress Rituparna Sengupta. Rakhee Gulzar returns after 22 years with Aamar Boss directed by the popular duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukhopadhyay. Her last appearance was in Shubho Mahurat (2003), a film still remembered as one of Rituparno Ghosh’s finest. This return of the stalwarts isn’t a coincidence. Bengali filmmakers are now crafting stories with these legends in mind, placing elderly women in the spotlight — not as background figures, but as emotionally rich, complex leads. Suman for his Puratawn, believed in casting 79-year-old Tagore not for commercial reasons but because she perfectly embodied the character he had in mind. He felt no need to compromise authenticity by choosing a younger actress made up to look older for box office collection. Shiboprasad, co-director of Aamar Boss, slated to release in May, observed that films featuring veteran heroines as protagonists often yield better returns than those led by younger stars. Looks like Bengali cinema is embracing age with pride. 

Old blog like that of Actress Heera surfaced and now an old interview of Director Gautham Vasudev Menon surfaces and as later events show that GVM anger was shortlived and both worked together. Now that AK has said that he will not do car racing and films at same time, no one need complain like GVM. GVM I think is still waiting for old friend Suriya. Read on :

According to International Business Time, Gautham Vasudev Menon revealed to a publication, “I was about to start the film when Ajith suddenly went abroad to race. And, when he returned, he started discussing his future projects with almost every director in K-town and finally decided to go ahead with Venkat’s Mangaatha. He asked me to wait till next year. But, why should I wait for him? I will only work with those who have their head placed firmly on their shoulder. If I have to wait for an actor for my film, it will either be Kamal sir or my good friend Suriya.”

The duo soon reconciled and joined hands for the 2015 film Yennai Arindhaal. Not only this but Gautham also praised the actor calling him friendly and comfortable to work with despite him being a big star.

Talking about Yennai Arindhaal, the film was fairly successful at the box office and earned positive reviews from the critics and masses alike. The movie also starred Trisha Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Arun Vijay in the lead roles. It marked the final movie of Gautham Vasudev Menon’s police trilogy after Kaakha Kaakha and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyaadu which starred Suriya and Kamal Haasan respectively.

Suriya and Kamal have not worked with GVM after these films.

Sachien is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, it is an adaptation of Mahendran's 2002 Telugu film Neetho with a few changes and marked the Tamil debut of Bipasha Basu. The score and soundtrack is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Jeeva and V T Vijayan took care of the cinematography and editing respectively.

A week after the release of his Tamil film Good Bad Ugly, actor Ajith Kumar has reached the Circuit De Spa in Belgium. He is gearing up for the GT4 series and will be preparing to intensify his preparations for the upcoming races, that are bound to test the endurance levels of drivers. On Wednesday, the actor’s racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, took to its X timeline to post a video clip of the actor on the trackside, watching race cars zoom past and wrote, “Ajith Kumar, trackside today at Circuit de Spa, Belgium. Soaking in the atmosphere, gearing up for the endurance challenge ahead.”

The GT4 series is a premier sports car championship featuring GT4-spec vehicles competing across Europe's renowned circuits. The series emphasizes cost-effective racing and serves as a platform for amateur drivers. It includes multiple classes, such as Silver, Pro-Am, and Am, to accommodate varying driver experience levels.

Ajith has a long list of racing events this year. The actor is to participate in the race in Zandvoort circuit, which is to be held between May 16-18. The actor will again be seen in action between June 26 and 29 at the Spa circuit and between July 18 and 20 at the Misano circuit. In August this year, Ajith is to race at the Nurburgring circuit before finally rounding off the season at Barcelona, the race at which is to be held between October 10 and 12.

Alread Thalapathy Vijay next film will be his last as he enters full time politics. After Thug Life, Kamal has only a Kalki sequel that is confirmed. That leaves only Rajinikanth to keep box office window busy next year. The most worrying part is that next saleable heroes - Dhanush - Suriya- Sivakarthikeyan highest box office collections so far are way below the top 4 of Kollywood.

Ajith is going to take part in  GT4 European Series . the GT4 European Series calendar has now been completed with a return to Italy and Barcelona resuming its spot as the title decider.

Ram Charan tweet on Sanatana Dharma is being used by netizens to counter Udhaynidhi Stalin comment on the practice saying that it against social justice and must be eradicated. However, Netflix refused to pay more than the agreed-upon amount. As a result, the producers are currently engaged in discussions with another platform. The original project did not include actors Mammooty, Mohanlal, and Faahadh Faasil, but their inclusion later increased the overall cost. The directors involved in the project are Priyadarshan, Santosh Sivan, Ranjith, Shyamaprasad, Jayaraj, Rathish Ambat, Mahesh Narayanan, and Ashwathy (MT's daughter). The cast includes Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Parvathy Thirvothu, Madhoo, Sidique, and several others. Almost a year ago, the project was completed, but the producers have been unable to find a buyer. SRK Jawan to avoid clash with Vijay's Leo = Ajith in Dubai

 The release dates for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie "Jawan" will only be revealed after consulting with the creators of Vijay's film "Leo". SRK and Vijay formed a close friendship during the filming of "Jawan" in Chennai and even attended Director Atlee's birthday party together. Atlee and Vijay have previously collaborated on blockbuster hits. There are rumors that Vijay will make a cameo appearance in "Jawan". Furthermore, the movie has additional appeal for the South Indian audience as it marks Lady Superstar Nayanthara's debut.

Sources say that Leo's Kashmir schedule is moving at a slower pace than planned. Severe cold conditions have played havoc with the shooting schedules and so there is a possibility that the film might not release on October month.

When Manju tweeted no Guts no glory , she meant it for the director for putting his name to a film that beats all illogical films that have come so far in Kollywood. 

Story; A bank located in Mount Rod Chennai has a team of robbers break in. they find that already a guy with same motive is inside and he is AK.Now this AK guy is a bank robber because he wants siphon all the money that the bank milked from the unsuspecting customers. Will he successfully complete his mission is the film all about.

Performance : AJITH KUMAR all the way and director H Vinoth has realized that a screen presence of AK is most important to smokescreen the lows in storytelling and over look the illogical super human actions of the hero and Manju Warrier. So add the AK do a moonwalk to give fans a kick and looks like it worked as this is trending soon after the 1 AM show.

From Vaali to Mankantha  AK excels in a role with shades of grey and Thunivu just gives him more space to do it. As far as Manju Warrier is concerned, I think she has got footage in a Star film and that too in a role that she has not done before is one big bonus for her and for viewers she is no disappointment. Most of the others have their roles well defined and give their best.

Technical aspects of the film are just about average. Art Director has created sets that can be blatantly  recognized as one. Nirav cinematography is one big plus and when it comes to music ,Ghibran does deliver his best but what happens is that the placement is at the wrong time. Here again how do you differentiate from gunshots- bomb explosion and BGM ?

Narration : From what you get to see in Thunivu trailor, the film gives an expectation and to a great extent it does deliver the heist factor. After all the fireworks – shoot outs and bombs exploding in the first part, you are taken in the second half to a portion where H Vinoth wants his film to be known as not just a heist film but also an expose on how private corporate banks make their balance sheets profitable by manipulating the public who do not read the small print in the forms that they sign.

This self-indulgence by the director affects the film pace and he did this in his previous film with AK and had to later cut it out. After the slow pace, the film takes it own time to shift to fast gear and this is one hell of a problem for a film backed by an electrifying AK screen presence. White  suit- white hair – mesmerizing smile and a machine gun in his lap, it is AK all the way.

Verdict : A one time watch for  those who are lovers of superhero genre films apart from  AK fans
