Yogi Babu plays Malaylam comedian Innoncent in Priyadarshan short for Mani Ratnam Navarasa antholgy


 Tamil comedian Yogi Babu plays Malayalam comedian Innoncent in Priyadarshan's short for Mani Ratnam's Navarasa anthology. The film is  based on the happening in the life of top Malayalam film comedian Innoncent , said a source. Halitha Shameem who was to direct for this anthology had to back out due to her upcoming release Aaleay and an under production film that has to be completed.

The  film was shot extensively on the Kerala -Karnataka- Tamil Nadu border and it is titled `Summer of 92'. The director has not confirmed that it is taken out of the life of Innoncent and instead describes it as `on lines of Malgudi Days'. The director said that to make a humourous film with a duration of 35 minutes screen time was tough. We wrapped the film in 7 days. While shooting for the film at Tamil Nadu- Kerala border, I developed high fever and had to be hospitalised. It was a scratch from the poisionous leaf and a surgery had to be done to remove the  poison. Under production work is over," he revealed. Karthik Subburaj, Bejoy Nambiar, Aravind Swami are the other directors.

The film's proceeds go to FEFSI, apex body of South Film cine workers to be given as aid to those who suffered during COVID 19 period. Meanwhile Kalyani Priyadarshan who completed her portion in Vineeth Srinivasan's Hridyam opposite Pranav Mohanlal has moved on to do a film with actor Tovino Thomas.
