Malayalam actor Dhruvan is part of the Ajith film Valimai. Clint EastWood heroine Hillary Swank likely to play MohanLal role in English remake of Drishyam. For first time in Indian Cinema, a person afflicted with Down Syndrome plays the lead. The film is Thirike , Malayalam film releasing on NeeStream, OTT platform that released the The Great Indian Kitchen.
Dhruvan made his debut with the hit film ‘Queen’ is also noted for his roles in films like ‘Children’s Park’ and ‘Finals’. Rumours are rife that Dhruvan essays a cop’s role in ‘Valimai’ .Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda will be seen as the antagonist in the film. Dhruvan His upcoming projects include Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer Jana Gana Mana and Mohanal’s upcoming flick Aaraattu.
Jeethu Joseph the director said that an Indian working in Hollywood asked for remake rights of Drishyam. He has submitted the English version. He said that the Hollywood film will be heroine centric film with Hillary Swank ( the boxer girl in Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby). She has been given the script for a reading. A director from Hollywood will direct it.
Gopi Krishnan (22) afflicted with Down Syndrome acts in Thirike. He also dubs for the film.Writer George Kora takes on directing this film along with Sam Xavier. The film is a tale of brothehood.The message is do not empathise for different disabled persons but celeberate them.
