Ranveer had spoken to Shankar about tweaking Anniyan script to suit Hindi aidience. The project fell through as producer V Ravichandran of Aascar Films was not game to part with the story for the remake.
Ranveer had since been in touch with Shankar for a dual role subject and some how it did not matierialize. Ranveer is currently working in a dual role for Cirkus. Shankar and Ranveer had already locked a script before the Ram Charan film.

Shankar's first Hindi film was Nayak , remake of Muthalvan, with Anil Kapoor. The film bombed and remains as the only film in his filmography that failed at the Box Office. The Ranveer film is not the usual 2 year project of Shankar and would be completed like any other film. On the Ram Charan project, reports say that a big Bollywood hero along with Rashmika Mandanna will join. Due to this, Rashmika is said to be quoting a very high price as from start of 2022, she has given bulk dates to Ram Charan- Shankar film.
The Ram Charan film with music by Anirudh, will be a political thriller like Muthalvan. It will have a subject that will touch the nerve of the political class across Andhra /TS and TN, said the source.
As soon as Kamal gives the dates, Indian 2 shoot will begin and be wrapped up. S B Satheesan who won the National and Kerala State award for Malayalam film Daya was quoted saying that for a scene in the film a ceremonial dress designed for the British Army head, set in pre- Independence era alone cost Rs 15 lakhs. He was comissioned to look after the costumes of the British Army for the film.
