Anarkali Marikar ( Uyare) and Sarath Appani (Angamaly Diaries) who acted in `Amala' are thrilled that the Tamil version of the bilingual is being screened at the Chennai International film festival starting on Feb 18th, Sreekanth, Rajisha Vijayan, and Sajitha Madathil. are in the cast
Anarkali Marikar won rave reviews for her supporting role in Uyare, the Parvathy film and also the Ramu Kariat Award. She was part of the blockbuster Aanandam.
“It's been almost 4 years since the shoot of amala. Amala had to go through a lot of struggles that it finally is about to get into big screen and that too in the Chennai International Film Festival. Now, at first, I really didn't see that coming and that too as a Tamil film. So, that's my first Tamil film which I didn't know until a few days back. Haha!!! (It’s basically a bilingual film),” Anarkali Marikar penned on her social media handle. The film is written and directed by debutant Nishad Ebrahim. Cinematography is by Abhilash Sanker.Music is by Lijin Bambino.
“It’s exciting to be a part of the festival, even as I am shooting here a very interesting, performance-oriented role in Abin’s film. I have more prospective projects lined up in Tamil,” Sarath said. In the Abin film, The actor plays the antagonist pitted against Aari Arjunan - the winner of the latest season of Tamil Bigg Boss - in the film. Vidya Pradeep plays the female lead.
