‘Maniga Maga Hithe’, Global Sri Lankan melody's Tamil- Malayalam version are the only official version

Maniga Maga Hithe the Sri Lankan song has caught the imagination of India's music lovers. It has become a hit globally too and probably after Gagagnum Style, this is currently the hot favourite. Many versions in Indian languages are on YouTube but the creators of the song have recognised only the Tamil- Malayalam versions.

The song in Sinhala means Baby in my heart is sung by Sri Lankan rappers Yohani Diloka de Silva and Satheeshan Rathnayak  Anas Shajahan from Kerala first made a Tamil version and uploaded it on his YouTube channel and it started gaining traction. Seeing this , the music producer Chamath Sangeeth of the original Sri Lankan song collaborated with Anas  to do a Malayalam version.

Yohanan has sung the title track of Sunny Kaushal-Radhika Madan’s ‘Shiddat’.( streaming on SonyLiv). She was quoted in The Hindu that lot of people earlier didn’t even know that the Sinhalese language existed and so she’s happy that the language has travelled far and wide. Last year Satheeshan along with another rapper Dulan ARX, sang this song first and then it was not a hit. But the latest version with pretty pouts to the camera by Yohanan has done the trick. It has also crossed over 100 million views on YouTube and became Number 1 in iTunes’ top 100 in Sri Lanka, India and Maldives, top viral 50 in Spotify India and Spotify Global, said an Indian Express report. Big B , Madhuri Dixit to many have put out  videos of them dancing to this song.
