Erida ; Talents wasted and our time too

ERIDA means Goddess. It also a symbol of God of hate. Samyuktha Menon neither comes out as a Goddess nor does her character have so much of hate in it. It is here the film falls flat. The time that director V K Prakash spend on Kishore character 's look was devoted to Samyuktha's role , film would have done wonders. Even Nassar role of a rich guy caught in debts and a compulsive gambler does not have the elegance or style that goes with it.  Loganathan does try his best with lighting and movements to pep up a screenplay that keeps on dragging. Kishore has been given a makeover  that makes it difficult to identify him.  Sadly, his role is badly etched and does not give him the scenes that he can score with his new look.

The plot had all the trappings to be a good thriller.  The screenplay gets stuck in a point where the con man and a woman with greed are under one roof. The sparks that are to fly does not happen, the sensuousness' of the woman is absent and nothing pulsating happens.  When you think te film ends with  the lady who committed the murder tells us what took place. Fine. Next you see a a guy popping up and he takes the woman in her car. He too is shown possessive of her and we presume he too plays poker and thinks she is a lucky mascot.

I saw the Malayalam version and it gave me the feeling that I was seeing a Tamil film dubbed. I was told that the Tamil version is the dubbed one. Language is no barrier to know a film is good or bad.
