Prabhudeva is firm that it is goodbye to Bollywood, Sources say that he told Salman Khan that he was not willing to direct the Hindi remake of Tamil film `Veeram'. He has told his associates that he would be hereafter working as an actor in South films , He said that he felt a creative block as a director and the last release Radhe with Salman had affected him as it was badly mauled by the media and a total rejection by Salman fans in even his strong areas like GCC countries.
AS we reorted ,Prabhudeva had quit Bollywood after Radhe's failure but Saman called him back and told him to direct Veeram remake and then do Dabaang 4 . Salman felt that it was no fault of the director and was more of a bad release timing and market confusion. Prabhudeva has signed three films in Tamil as an actor.
It was Vijay starrer Pokirri that the choreographer did in Taml and was a super hit. It got remade in Hindi with Salman as Wanted. A bumper hit, he next directed Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore , almost six years later and it was a blockbuster hit. ‘Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ in 2013 ( average hit) and in same year he directed Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘R…Rajkumar’ which also did well at box office. There was no looking back.
In 2014, his first flop was Ajay Devgn film Action Jackson. One year later he gave a big flop Singh is Bling with Akshay Kumar. Prabhudeva had till then remade his Telugu films and opted for a Korean subject for Singh is Bling. Action Jackson and Dabaang 3 were two Hindi films that were not remakes but again it bombed. He opted for a Korean subject to do Radhe and it too bombed. After Singh is Bling, Prabhudeva was missing for 3 years from Bollywood and took up acting in Tamil films. It was 2019 he surfaced with Salman film Daabaang 3 and then with Radhe.
Saaman who has Tiger 3 and Antim ( due for release next month) shares a great comfort zone with Prabhudeva and hence might just compel him to do Veeram remake, hopes the associates. Bollywood Industry is not in any state of shock on hearing about Prabhudeva's decision as he is ticked off as a spent force.
