Laabam one of the first theatrical release after 2nd lockdown relaxation, sadly is a sad day for Tamil movie goers. When you have Vijay Sethupathi producing and acting in it with Sruthi Haasan- D Imman music and the hype that it was an ode to Late director S P Jananathan who died while editing the film, you go in with expectations. It was said to be a ripping apart the corporate exploitation of farmer and their lands. Sadly it ends up losing a few hundreds for the tickets to see this movie.
If you try hard to come up with something good, all you can say is that Ramji camerawork is splendid. Editor too has done best with what he got. All the actors are just hamming their way through. Jagapathi Babu takes the award for most wooden performance. Imman scored the music ???.
I think the second part of the film was directed by somebody else. One more miserable attempt to tell the farmers exploitation. Wonder who will make a movie on us being exploited in the name of farmers. Jai Jawan Jai Kisan.
