I was told that Congress is doing a whisper campaign against the film One as it glorifies Pinrayi. How many times can you say it is a one time watch coz of Mammootty's `power packed' performance ? This is the question that came to my mind after watching the film. The film has no fan moments or anything that interests you. It need not be a Lucifer but at least should stand scrutiny to an audience that is well versed with the working of a political party.
The undoing of the film is that the talk about the CM role being modelled on Pinrayi. They probably expected to see the angry Comrade during his salad days and later as CM . Instead you have a CM who always has a Mr Cool attitude. His opponents finish their strategy in a few whispers. With such enemies, you can afford to be Mr Cool.
A Facebook post issue is the first case that we see the Mr Cool handling it and turning a critical post to his advantage. After that he okays action against corrupt Ministers . Then he turns up at the police station to suspend two officers who kept a woman in police custody without any evidence. The cop deserved it as he nor his colleagues recognised the woman's father and her brother who got praise for the FB post from the CM. He travels in an auto to reach a college function. Again he uses Mr Cool attitude to handle a heckler.
Now the tagline is that it is a CM you always wanted to have and so he introduces a bill for right to recall MLA's by voters. He loses the votes to push the Bill in the House but we are told that he is still the CM. So people voted him back .
The film after some time starts to drag and by interval, the plot is not unravelled and finally when it does you know the outcome. You don't feel sad or pity for this CM as he walks out of office.
