Kerala filmdom hail CM -Thalapathy Vijay's Master will release - Kushbu's Nandini serial shifts to Zee Tamil

Mammooty- Mohanlal- Prithiviraj and others  hailed CM Pinrayi after the meeting between Kerala CM and Representatives of the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce, Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), Kerala Film Producers’ Association and Distributors’ Association proved fruitful.  It has paved way for release of Master on Jan 13th, As reported yesterday, the Kerala distributors of Master were confident of the outcome. They continued distributing posters to cinema halls. In Tamil TV sector, Sequel to Nandini the horror serial produced by Kushbu telecast in Sun TV will shift to Zee Tamil . The serial's Malayalam dubbed version came on Surya, Kushbu's shifting to BJP is said to be the reason and also her challenge to Stalin that if he had the guts to stand opposite him in the State polls as another reason.

Kerala Govt has waived ET from Jan- March 2021. Fixed EB charge for period during lockdown period has been cut by 50% and need be paid in installments.CM also said that the government will consider extending the dates for renewal of theater licenses till March at least. The licenses of most of the theaters have expired.Another demand that will be considered is the one regarding double taxation. Although producers  are paying Goods and Services Tax, an extra entertainment tax is also being levied.

Some of the exhibitors have outstanding payments to be made to the distributors for films which were screened before the outbreak of the pandemic. The exhibitors are hoping to repay this from the revenues after the reopening of the theaters. With several films ready for release, a priority will be decided based on discussions between the producers

Nandini 2 the sequel to the successful horror TV serial produced by Kushbu's production company had readied 50 episodes. Sun TV however started dilly dallying on pressure from Stalin and his son Udhaynidhi, both who were targeted by the actress in her campaign for BJP. Even though Radhikaa's husband is an ally of AIADMK, Sun has not stopped business relationship with her production company. The move against Kushbu has come as a surprise. Sun TV had always maintained that though the owners -Maran brothers, are part of Karunanidhi family and pro DMK, it's business ties were not bound by it. The serial's title character of a Nagin ( serpent) acted by Nitya Ram, is a big hit with the youth. Even though in saree, she is termed `hot'.
