Tamil TV week 33 BARC TRP shows that top three serials ( urban + rural) of Star Vijay is way ahead of the Sun TV soaps. Zee Tamil TRP's of their highest rated channel in urban is below even the lowest or re- telecast ones in rival channels. The top 3 top rated serials are Bharathi Kannamma ( 12.25) , Bhagyalakshmi ( 11.50) and Pandian Stores ( 11.40), all from Star Vijay.. Fourth highest Star Vijay is Raja Rani 2 with 10.42 rating. Roja of Sun TV that was first in TRP for long time has slipped to fifth place with 10.25.
Other serials of Sun are hovering around 9 pts. Sun TV still occupies the top slot of Tamil GEC with Star Vijay in second and Zee Tamil in third spot. Fourth is KTV and followed by Vijay Super. The impact of the reality show Master Chef on weekends is yet to be seen. Star Vijay started shooting the promo of Bigg Boss with Kamal and likely for a October start.
The newly elected chief of the Indian Broadcasters Federation is expected to make way for BARC to come up TRP for news channels. After the Republic iTV issue, no rating were coming forth. Sun News is already claiming to have dethroned other Tamil news channels after the DMK came to power.
In Kerala, the domination of Asianet continues. Among others, only Flowers TV is making strides and overtaken Mazhavil Manorama. Zee Keralam too seems to be inching forward.
