South Indian TV channels upstage Hindi channels- Sun TV is India's No 1

 

South Indian Channels have pushed back Hindi channels from the top positions, as per the BARC Week 33 report. On the OTT front, Amazon Prime is reeling under the huge  response to  Tamil film Sarpetta Parambarai got across India. Zee Tamil has gone to town with the figures that Tamil film Karnan got when premiered on it’s channels. What baffles the channels are that Karnan is very much available on OTT when the TV telecast took place.

Sun AMA ( Average Minute Audience) : 2651.23 (000) AMA. Star MAA ( Telegu) : 2625.34 (000) AMA and Star Plus at third with 2595.11 (000) AMA.

After this in the seventh spot is Star Vijay ( Tamil) and eight spot is Zee Kannada.. ( spot is Zee Telegu. Out of top 10 positions, BARC shows  five South channels in the All India ranking.

Amazon Prime Video India saw its best ever viewership in the month leading-up to Prime Day, with  3200+ towns and cities in India and in over 150+ countries and territories globally watching south movies, including  Tamil film Sarpatta Parambarai premiering on July 22^nd.
