Suriya - Karunas help Pithamagan producer, Aishwarya Rajinikanth film starts

According to reports, Suriya has reportedly donated Rs. 2 lakh towards Pithamgan film producer VA Durai's initial medical treatment, while former MLA and actor-producer Karunas has also reportedly provided Rs. 50,000 in financial assistance. It has been reported that Karunas reached out to one of Durai's caretakers soon after learning about his health condition. Though Pithamagan is a hit, Durai ended up in debts.

In2003, VA Durai produced the Tamil blockbuster film Pithamagan, directed by Bala and starring Vikram, Suriya, Laila, and Sangeetha. The movie went on to become a huge success and was honored with several awards, including the National Award and Filmfare award. Durai is the owner of the production and distribution company Evergreen Movie International and had previously worked with actor Sathyaraj and director Sakthi Chidambaram on various projects in the early 2000s.

However, while producing Pithamagan, Durai reportedly faced financial difficulties due to Bala exceeding the agreed budget. Despite settling the payments, Durai also gave Bala Rs 25 lakhs for his next film, which never materialized, and Bala did not return the payment. After 19 years, Durai filed a case in court against Bala to reclaim his money and even protested at Bala's office. Bala has not changed his work pattern. He and Suriya worked on a film produced by the latter. After one schedule, Suriya realised that he was wasting his money on never ending retakes and changes in script. Both parted ways and Suriya was poorer by a few crores. It happened last year.

VA Durai is seeking financial help for his medical treatment, as he is suffering from severe complications caused by diabetes that have left him unable to walk. His living conditions have deteriorated significantly, and he is currently staying with a friend in Saligramam, which has left his livelihood in a precarious position. In a video shared by a friend, the Lootu producer expressed that he feels like a refugee and has no one to take care of him. Additionally, he shared that he has developed sores on his legs due to acute diabetes and is unable to afford treatment at the hospital.

The music is being composed by AR Rahman, and the technical crew includes Ramu Thangaraj as the art director, Pravin Baaskar as the editor, and Vishnu Rangasamy as the cinematographer. Director Sri Ganesh, well-known for his work on the film 8 Thottakkal, expressed his delight about the upcoming Malayalam version of his film, which is titled Corona Papers. Sri Ganesh shared his enthusiasm through a Facebook post and also praised Priyadarshan, the director of the Malayalam remake, for his kindness in including Sri Ganesh's name on the first look poster of Corona Papers. Sri Ganesh was thrilled to see his name listed as the writer of the film on the poster, and he noted that it is rare for the original writer to be acknowledged in remakes. Sri Ganesh further added that Priyadarshan was insistent on giving credit to the core technician, which is something to be admired about the Malayalam film industry.
