Forest officials have requested that the shooting of the upcoming Dhanush movie "Captain Miller," which is currently taking place in forests near Tenkasi, be halted. Despite this request, the production team has claimed to have permission from higher authorities, and shooting is ongoing as of now.
During the filming process, the production unit constructed a set in the forest, which caused the flow of water from the hills to 16 canals, the primary source of drinking water for local villages, to stop. Additionally, the canals were damaged in order to divert water away from the set. The Forest Department notice states that the use of high-powered lights, as well as heavy firecrackers, in the forested areas, home to tigers, would disturb the peace.
The production house, Sathyajothi, which is already behind schedule, has managed to quiet opposition to the shooting. However, the local Union council is now planning to enter the set premises to block any further shooting.
The filming of Captain Miller was recently resumed after a hiatus, with Dhanush returning to the set following a month-long break. A teaser video has been released showcasing the elaborate production of the film, with meticulous attention being paid to the design and construction of sets and weapons to accurately represent the 1940s era. This video has piqued the audience's curiosity about the film, with a brief glimpse of Dhanush holding a gun being revealed at the end. The movie is directed by Arun Matheshwaran, produced by T.G. Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films along with Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan, and features music by GV Prakash Kumar. Captain Miller will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
