Dulquar heir to Mohanlal in Box office - Marakkar crashes- Rs100 cr club claim a fake

Dulquar Salman's Kurup  is the third highest grosser  among Malayalam films. worldwide . Indian collections of Marakkar shows that the claim it is the first Indian film to collect Rs 100 cr through pre-booking is a mere publicity stunt. Top 2 Malayalam film top grosser till date are Lucifer and Puli Murugan- both Mohanlal films in worldwide box office collections

As per box office collections, Markaar after 5 days has slumped to a low of not even touching Rs 50 crore( inclusive of  collections abroad). Not willing to accept that it is a flop, stooges of Marakkar producer point out that the coming weekend shows are full and slow down was in weekdays. See the chart: In Mumbai and Chennai close to 100 shows were screened in first week and the figures show the dismal collections. Chennai response is better than many releasing centers in Kerala and outside home State. Kozhikode which has   highest movie viewing crowd and  the film about a war hero from their region , did not take to it. In fact Trivandrum, home town of Mohanlal and followed by Kochi did better.

Kurup is filling the gap and followed by films like Kaaval of Suresh Gopi. Small budget films like Jaan emann are back
