Dhruv Vikram new single out -Kerala theaters to classify films - Fahadh Faasil in Pushpa The Rule getup - Adipurush trailor in 20 countries
Dhruv Vikram, who previously wrote and sang "Missing Me" from the movie Mahaan, has once again teamed up with composer Santhosh Narayanan. However, this time, they will collaborate on an independent single called "Poomadhiye," which Dhruv Vikram has directed and starred in. The song features lyrics by Vivek, and the audio was released recently, accompanied by a teaser video that shows Dhruv Vikram hanging out with friends at a roadside tea shop and walking on an overbridge on the Rajiv Gandhi IT Expressway. The full music video will be available on YouTube tomorrow.
As for Dhruv's movie career, he will play the lead role in Mari Selvaraj's upcoming sports biopic, which is based on the life of Kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan.
Fahadh Faasil is currently working on Jithu Madhavan's next project, titled Romancham. The filming is taking place in Bengaluru, and the movie is said to be a college campus-based entertainer, featuring Fahadh in the role of a gangster. His appearance in this film is expected to be similar to that in his upcoming movie, Pushpa: The Rule. Anwar Rasheed and Nazriya Nazim are producing the film jointly, with Sameer Thahir serving as the cinematographer and Sushin Shyam as the composer. Although it has not been confirmed, there are rumors that the movie may be dubbed and released in multiple languages.
The Kerala Exhibitors have introduced a new policy where a screening charge will be applied to movies that are deemed to be of low quality. According to Vijayakumar, who is the head of the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), members will grade the films based on the director, actors, production company, and distributor standing in the industry. Additionally, the exhibitors will collaborate with Actor’s body AMMA and Producers Association to create a regulatory system that will limit the release of films per week. Vijayakumar believes that the reason for the films flopping is due to the content being made for OTT platforms and not for the theatre experience. He added that priority will be given to films that provide a visual treat.
Previously, theatre owners believed that damaging reviews from online channels were the primary reason for a film's flop. To address this issue, they decided to stop these channels entry to the movie hall premises to record the viewers' opinions. However, with the new grading system and parameters, new banners, directors, and actors will be required to pay a screening charge, which includes rental fees and distributor commissions. This means that new producers who want to release their films on their own will also have to pay the new charges. In practice, big banners with established stars, directors, and actors will benefit the most from this new system.
The highly anticipated movie Adipurush is set to release on June 16, 2023, and is expected to be a historic event. The team recently released a new poster featuring Prabhas, announcing the global trailer launch on May 9, 2023. The trailer will be launched not only in India but in 70 countries worldwide, making it a global event. The movie will transport audiences into a world of adventure, drama, and action, and will be launched in territories across the USA, Canada, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South Asia, Africa, UK, Europe, Russia, and Egypt. The movie has already achieved a major milestone by being selected for an international premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York. Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, with Retrophiles' Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair and UV Creations' Vamsi and Pramod in association.
