Valimai beats Vijay's Sarkar record betters Ajith's previous hit

 Opening day figures that have come in show Valimai having Rs 25.50 net collection and beating Vijay's Sarkar record of Rs 23.50 crores in Tamil Nadu. In terms of gross collection, Sarkar record of Rs 30.19 crores remains unbeaten with Valimai figures being at Rs 29.60 crores.

Karnataka region Tamil prints posted Rs 3.60 crore gross, AP/ TS ( Telugu Dubbed) with Rs 1.65 crores and Kerala with Rs 1.10 crores. In Kerala, Master held the record of having Rs 60 Lakhs  Hindi was a washout with  Rs 1. 15 crores.  Valimai  opening is the highest for Ajith film and beats his all time hit Viswasam opening day collections.

If one factors in the ticket  prices in 2018  for Sarkar and Viswasam in 2019 and that no other film is playing in any theaters of Tamil Nadu as well as official sanction to run morning shows from 4 AM, the margins blur and records might be more on paper .

Meanwhile Tamil TV actors are celebrating that one among them figured in Valimai with Ajith. Chaitra Reddy , popular actress who started in Zee Tamil and now in No 1 TRP rated serial Kayal on Sun TV plays a part of  the cyber squad that helps the hero track the villain. Though the role is confined to a room , Chaithra has many close up scenes and comes quite often in the film. Congratulatory messages from co- actors are pouring in.
