After 1983 and Action Hero Biju, director Abrid Shine is teaming up again with Nivin Pauly for his new film Mahaveeryar. After a decade,Asif Ali joins Nivin in the film, which also marks Kannada actor Shanvi Srivastava's Malayalam debut.
Scripted by M Mukundan, Mahaveeryar stars Siddique and Lal as well.
Nivin's production house Pauly Jr Pictures is bankrolling the film jointly with Indian Movie Makers. The film, which went on floors today in Rajasthan, sees Asif and Nivin reuniting after a decade. They last starred together in Rajesh Pillai's Traffic and Joshiy's Sevenes.. Abrid's last directorial was the action film, Kung Fu Master.

Screenwriter and director Abrid Shine, actors Asif Ali, Shanvi Srivastava, and the co-producer P S Shamnas were also present. Mahaveeryar is the third collaboration between Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine after the commercially and critically acclaimed movies 1983 and Action Hero Biju. This movie also marks the coming together of Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali after almost a decade. This big-budget movie was shot in extensive schedules in Rajasthan and Kerala amidst the challenges thrown up by the prevailing pandemic. The film is a fantasy- time trav and about law books.
