This comes as a milestone in Pradeep Ranganathan's career, as Dude marks his third consecutive Rs 100-crore earning film at the box office. At the recent event where the cast and crew expressed their thanks to the public for making Dude a success, director Keerthiswaran said that the numbers signify the public's likeability for the film. Keerthiswaran also expressed his gratitude to the audience for making his debut directorial a special one. The director said that the film's message (honour killing) is not new for Tamil Nadu and that it is passed on from several in the state. He also promised to keep trying to make films with such messages in an entertaining way going forward. "That is my assurance," Keerthiswaran said. Talking about the film's success, Pradeep Ranganathan said he was thrilled to see the positive reception the film is getting.
