- Kaikasi is also known as Nikasha or Malini in some texts.
- Sumali, her father, wanted her to marry Vishrava to gain powerful grandsons who could help him reclaim Lanka.
- According to the Sundara Kanda of the Krittibasi Ramayana, Kaikasi approached Vishrava at the behest of her father and married him.
- According to some accounts, Kaikasi supported her son Ravana in his actions, but also advised him to return Sita to Rama.
- It is believed that Kaikasi died in Lanka, and Ravana was heartbroken by her death.
