Just having
a Tamil Star in a film does not guarantee you a Kollywood box office and in Telugu the presence of Nagarjuna got
in the opening crowds . After Second Monday, film has sunk in Tollywood too. Director Shekhar
Kammula’s latest film Kubera, starring Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika
Mandanna, recently hit theatres and made a strong impact at the Telugu box
office. The emotionally driven film was released in multiple Indian languages,
aiming for a pan-India reach. While the movie received a positive response in
Telugu states, it struggled in Tamil Nadu despite Dhanush playing a lead role.
The film failed to resonate with the Tamil audience, leading to a disappointing
performance at the Kollywood box office. Reacting to this, director Shekhar
Kammula said that the team needs to analyze why the film didn’t connect in
Tamil Nadu. “We thought Dhanush’s presence and the story would easily appeal to
the Tamil audience. But now, looking at the outcome, we need to introspect and
understand where things went wrong,” he said. The team is now reflecting on the
reasons behind the regional disconnect despite strong content and star power.

films before hosting the show. He is anticipated to provide a roughly 40-day
timeline for the two of them, which would be shot in different parts of Kerala.
One is Drishyam 3, and the other is reportedly Mahesh Narayanan's much awaited
film, which also features Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, and Mammootty.
JioHotstar will be streaming Bigg Boss Malayalam around-the-clock,
along with being broadcast on Asianet. Set
work is on in EVP Chennai and August is likely launch date.
In
January, Kichcha Sudeep announced his decision to quit as the
host of Bigg Boss Kannada after appearing in the
reality TV show for 11 seasons. Now, the actor has reversed his decision, much
to the delight of fans. He is set to host the 12th season of the Colors Kannada
show and three more seasons, revealed its organisers.
The actor
said that he had at least 10-12 meetings with the team to iron out any kinks
and eventually, the only condition he had for them was about the start date.
“They wanted it to start at a certain date, and I have requested them to push
it ahead by 3-4 weeks, as I am committed to trying and ensuring that I have a
film release in 2025. Billa Ranga Baashaa is ongoing and another project will
be announced shortly,” he said.
