Though Kamal Haasan is in USA, he always is in our
midst. We had told you that Kamal Haasan had before boarding the flight , taken
part in a event for Star Vijay. It was the first part of the promo of the film
Amaran produced by him. It was released today on social media. The film
starring Sivakarthikeyan who plays Major Mukund who died a martyr in the Shopian
encounter in Kashmir has also Sai Pallavi playing the Major’s wife. Kamal said
two of his earlier films Kuruthipunnal and Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu produced by him had fictional
stories. Kadamai Kanniyam Kattupaadu was produced by him but
Sathyaraj played the lead of the police officer. The film was a remake of I V
Sasi’s Aavanazhi.
Kamal on why
he produced Amaran and also reveals that the film is also about the family of
the Martyr.
“We might
have given Major Mukund a medal, respected him posthumously, but we mustn’t
forget that the first person to have heard the way the story ended was
Indu. His unparalleled bravery was matched by the courage of the people at
home. Amaran is about that courage too. I didn’t choose this story. We have
no part, except to have to have fulfilled our duty of telling this story,"
