Nayanthara in web series - Leo Tamil Nadu sale open - Suriya or Chay - Prithviraj gets IT pat

Nayanthara has been cast in a web series directed by Vishnu Edavan, who is known as the lyricist for Leo's popular song "Naa Ready." In a tweet, DOP Kartik mentioned that Vignesh Shivan and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who participated in a Director Roundtable with Bhardwaj Rangan, discussed Vishnu, and Vignesh obtained the lyricist's phone number. Recently, it was announced that Nayanthara has been signed for a film directed by YouTuber Dude Vicky, which revolves around the world of cinema. The shooting is scheduled to commence on July 14th.
Suriya, who was the initial choice of director Chandoo Mondeti, gave his approval to the storyline narrated by Karthik. Producer Allu Aravind, who has close connections with the Sivakumar family, intended to make this film with Suriya due to his popularity in Andhra States and Tamil Nadu. Additionally, the film "Kanguva," directed by Siruthai Siva and featuring Suriya, is highly anticipated, with many in the industry believing it will have a Pan Indian appeal. However, as the film's shooting is not yet completed, the production house, Studio Green, is having doubts about the release date. Initially, it was decided that the film would release on Pongal 2024. However, the Kamal Haasan-Shankar combo's film "Indian 2" is now scheduled for that same date. Meanwhile, there are reports that Naga Chaitanya might replace Suriya in the film, and the production house has approached Anirudh for the music. Sources suggest that Allu Aravind has informed the team that Naga Chaitanya will come on board only if Suriya decides to drop out. The director's successful "Karthikeya" franchise has created anticipation, and this time, the story revolves around a young man from Srikakulam who finds h imself on the Gujarat coast during a fishing expedition and falls in love with a girl from a fishing hamlet.
The collaboration between Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj for their upcoming film "Leo" is currently in its final stage of shooting. The dialogues have been completed, and only the dance and fight sequences remain. According to industry insiders, the producer Lalith Kumar has not yet finalized the theatrical business in Tamil Nadu. AGS, who is producing Vijay's next film, is in negotiations, but the issue arises from Lalith's demand for Rs 100 crores. Lalith, who was also the producer of Vijay's previous film "Varisu," claims that the distributor's profit share was Rs 90 crores despite facing competition from Ajith's film "Thunivu." Lalith believes that his asking price is reasonable considering Lokesh's popularity after "Vikram" and the absence of any Ajith film. In the case of "Varisu," Red Giant distributed the film in five areas, while Lalith purchased the rights for other areas and overseas. Lalith made a bold statement, stating that the film collected Rs 210 crores worldwide within just seven days. However, Tirupur Subramanian from the Multiplex Association dismissed this claim as a 200 percent fabrication. AGS, on the other hand, quoted Rs 80 crores for the film. AGS insists that the actual gross collection in the state for "Varisu" was Rs 140 crores.
